Graphics card help

Hello, my name is Chris, and I need help.

I run an Asus U56E - BAL7 laptop. I love the thing to pieces, but there is one thing that bothers me in pieces. When I got this laptop, I wasn't planning on getting into the game on PC as I did. The laptop has a terrible graphics and basically, I knew that the upgrade was probably impossible (or possible but too risky) so I looked online ways around it and I found «External graphics card» There was one that I like, but the problem is that all over the internet, is irrelevant if the thing is external.
http://www.Amazon.com/VisionTek-Radeon-Express-graphics-900358/DP/B005FG1XV4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1355597360&SR=8-1&keywords=is+the+Radeon+5450+an+external+graphics+card%3F
I want to be a video gamer and a streamer in live one day but I only 13 budgets so money isn't huge for me. If anyone can help me, the more you can let know if this thing IS an external graphics can I use with a different monitor. I want to just play smooth and something on amazon. My parents do not exactly trust sites except the Amazon. But yes, whether the "graphics card VisionTek Radeon 5450 1 GB DDR3 PCI Express BB2" is an external graphics card I can plug my laptop computer and then in a monitor. "
Thank you for helping some poor soul out :) - Chris

Well, to answer your question, NO, one in the link is not external. A video card using PCI Express.

An external video card uses a Thunderbolt port.

However, the thing with external graphics for games cards is that they are really, and I mean REALLY, too rare and expensive.

Usually, the external video cars are not designed for this.

  • Re: Graphics Card Help... flag p6523w and gtx 970 low use of the graphics card

    Hello

I seem to have a problem with an add on the graphics card in my Pavilion p6523w

(Yes, this 12 '' long card fits into the case without problem)

upgrades made so far for this machine:

    Antec 600W PSU

    additional hard drive

    upgrades memory 12 GB (2x2gb original + 2 x 4 GB modules)

AMD Phenom II 1045 6 hearts

    ASUS 144 Hz 27 "monitor

The ATI integrated graphics card is disabled in the bios, and I was running an evga gtx 460 for two years with no problems.

When I "upgraded" to a new gtx Gigabyte 970 OC with 4 GB of vram (not the version of g1, the next one down) I came across a problem

the new video card will not work at full load when running the games.

On tests of reference such as furmark and the reference of the sky, it works fine.

On World of Warcraft and Second Life different viewers, it only works 25% rates of burden and the frame down about 15 fps at 32 fps. (it is slower than the old gtx 460)

Other people with this same card to receive 100 + FPS on graphics settings maxed out in Second Life

This is not a matter of processor bottleneck, because the processor will never more than 60 percent load while it is happening.

I tried different versions of drivers availible for this card.

Whenever I changed drivers, I booted in safe mode and DDU to remove the old drivers before installing a different version.

No change in performance between driver versions.

No change in performance with different graphics settings in games.

No change in performance with different settings in Control Panel NVidia

I'm starting to wonder if there is an incompatibility between this card and the motherboard Bios causing this problem.

Is the newest bios American Megatrends 6.04 version?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

    Mark S.

There is no problems listed under the dxdiag for my system. Apparently, this card can work with older motherboards.

I just discovered that this issue of throttleing was a fairly frequent problem quite some 970 and 980 based gtx cards and a solution that works for me.

There is a 3rd party outside vbios that changes the limit of use NT 250 watts up to 275 watts of power.

It is the only change from the original version.

Flashing your Vbios may void the warranty on your video card

Another thing to check is the voltage drop as possible on the 12VDC feeding the card.

Some people have experienced this problem and it causes the same symptoms.

This was not the case in my system, but it's one thing to check before resorting to some flashes of the vbios.

If you are planning on flashing the Vbios from your video card, be sure to save a copy of the original Vbios in case you need to restore the map to the stock.

    Hello!

    I stumbled across a big problem I got it;
I recently bought a brand new Asus Geforce GTX 750Ti to replace my old Asus Radeon HD 6670.
When I replaced the card and turned on the computer the screen blue hp come, made the beep to indicate installation of drivers or something and then a black screen with a flashing underscore white.

I know this isn't food as my diet works very well with the 6670 because it requires a minimum 450w power supply and the 750 Ti requires a minimum of 400w
    I did a 6pin adapter plugin.
I have uninstall my drivers that were previously installed by my old radeon card.
After that I saw that it did not work on the new graphics card, I tried again and found that it works perfectly.
There is no update of the BIOS for my model of what I see.

Anyone know what I can do?

So I have a mother Angelica 2 card and I was wondering if I could spend my Pegasus Radeon HD 7570 2 GB for a Zotac GeForce GTX 2 GB of GDDR5 memory 650ti

    Well done!

The EVGA card seems to be very good.  I watched several times.  I also read the reviews and they have good things to say about it.  Normally, I'd like to see more reviews on a product I buy, but I love the card.

If it were me, I would buy the video card and PSU.  You can't go wrong with Corsair.  This ensures that you can make future updates without any problem.  Of course, it's entirely your choice.

I wonder how important it really is to a graphics card help with graphics using Horizon. None of my clients will use intensive graphics, such as games or CAD software. That said, the experience will be good as an experience of laptop to customers, with no particular graphic but things are ok in all?

This is not necessary unless you have specific needs for 3D applications and 3D rendering.

Even without and GPU:s, you can provide features basic coated CPU software with 3D.

    Hi @cazlo ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook f105nx 17 and want to change the graphics card.  It shows me that the integrated graphics card is integrated into the motherboard. Therefore, the only way to be changed, you would have removed and change the motherboard. This is a link to the specifications.

  • Z1 HP - upgrade graphics card! Help, please!

    Hello world.

First of all I would like to say my knowledge of graphics cards is very limited so if you would be kind enough to explain things to me step by step. Thank you

So I bought a Z1 - model WM427EA #ABU - and have already updated the RAM, I want to update the graphics card because AFAIK that comes with my model is completely s * the graphics on borderlands (game) look terrible on my Z1 and shiny on my new classmates Vaio all-in-one. I played with the graphics settings in the game without success.

I looked inside the Z1 and couldn't find something that looks like a graphics card. I looked at other models - one with the quadro 4000 - and they seem to have a black box, one on the left side while mine was just an empty space: s. According to most of the sites I have a card/controller "Intel HD Graphics 2000 Dynamic Video Memory Technology."

It would be possible for me to say buy a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+680 & id = 41) and paste it into my machine? I noticed that there a housing as if she had to go in a tower. I should locate and remove the controller/original graphics card before I could install it?

I really hope HP havnt done so its only compatible with some cards. Which would defeat the purpose of the machine being easily expandable...

Any help appreciated, thanks a lot

    Chris

PS you can get the specifications to

Make sure it is the Xeon E3-1245v2 if you intend to do this (noting the "v2" at the end)

It's a new architecture than the E3-1245 ("v1" If you want) and the v2 has a major upgrade to the graphics capabilities on the former model, will perform a little better for the CPU to destination as well tasks. It should work more fresh and quieter too, as an added bonus. It should not cost more than either a v1.

You can buy units in a sales package retail or OEM (just naked CPU). You get a heat sink with the retail package, but you don't use it. There is not generally a big cost difference between the two, however, perhaps only a few £/ $ extra for the retail box. I tend to hesitate to ebay, unless I can't avoid it (as with the MXM cards). You have problems to find a 1245v2 to stock from several reputable providers and potentially get a better deal on ebay also.

Replace the CPU isn't too difficult, but I recommend checking out a few guides before you try it yourself - I don't dive in details here on a generic CPU swap because there is nothing I can say that google or youtube will not tell you 10 times more.

There is nothing particularly unique about the replacement of the CPU in the Z. The cooler is set by a few screws and simply lifts off once they are free (and the fans are disconnected from the motherboard).

Once it is off, clean the bottom with something that won't leave a residue (e.g., not something as a solvent for nail polish with perfumes etc.. I use TIM Akasa cleaner and it works very well). Decliper and open setting around the CPU, pop in the new processor carefully, noting the location indicated by the arrow in the corner of the CPU lines until the arrow on the socket. Re-engage the strain relief and apply little thermal grease directly on the CPU (there are many on the market, I use Arctic Silver 5). Make sure not to apply too much grease, you're going to a very thin layer, better youtube it for technique.

Then all that remains is to replace the cooler (making sure not to forget to plug back in), close the PC and fire.

EDIT: One more thing-update your BIOS to the latest version before swap you the processors, it could not start with the E3-1245v2 with a BIOS earlier, which gives you a nice 'Uh Oh' moment, before realizing you have to UN-swap and then re - Exchange processors again.

If you not yet the option in the BIOS, then the map you are migrating to is not compatible with your system.

  • ENVY Desktop - 750-137c: help me to find a graphics card that fits.

Hello, my name is Joe.   I need help with my new pc.  I got this pc without graphics card.  I want to try to upgrade and I think I can use the slot pcie 16 x 3.0?  Correct me if I'm wrong.  I want to know what the card would fit as the motherboard is a Μatx which, from what I can tell, a little smaller.   Also, I may have to upgrade my power supply. If so, is there a special for my pc or can put in none?  I have no idea.   Thank you all for your time.   I'll check here every day.

    Joe

Thank you for the additional information.

You certainly need to move the power supply (PSU).  I love Corsair products.  A modular POWER supply is very good because it allows to use only the cables needed.  I normally recommend at least 500W, but in this case, I would recommend 600W.  Your computer is new, and this will give you more flexibility for future updates.

Here are the system requirements for Fallout 4:

    • 08/07/10 (64 - bit OS required) Windows
    • Intel Core i7 4790 3.6 GHz/AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz or equivalent.
    • 8 GB OF RAM.
    • 30 GB of free HARD disk space.
    • NVIDIA GTX 780 3 GB/AMD Radeon R9 290 X 4 GB or equivalent.

Now for the video card.  As you can see, the system requirements are quite high for Fallout 4.  I believe, with the video card on the right, you'll be able to play it is still higher than the average.  The RAM and video card are more important when the games.  Here is a card that should work for you.  Read the customer reviews.  A comment indicates that the map plays Fallout 4 nicely.  However, I claim that you contact EVGA Tech Support (1-800-880-3842) in order to ensure that it will work.  They were always very helpful when I made contact with them.

  • Need help to see if the graphics card is compatible / finding new food please

Hi, I use currently a HP ENVY Office 700-214 I bought a few months ago and recently decided to update the graphics card so I can continue to play with the higher settings.

I found a 'Nvidia geforce 760' graphics card which I think should be an upgrade of what I use now, but alas, I have to improve my diet in order to use it because it requires a minimum of 500W. So I was wondering if someone could help me with a few questions.

1: the Nvidia geforce 760 map is compatible with my computer?

2: could I possibly get links to a few feeds compatible with my computer? (If posible may 1 with a bit more 'W', then I need minimum.) So if I update in the future more I'm already covered?

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it

    Hello

Boot in the BIOS (F10) and verify the information in system information. What is the level of BIOS version? If your PC is using version 8 or 80 and above all the NVIDIA 760 should work unless the version of the video in the video card bios expects something different.  In this case, check with the manufacturer of the video card for repair.

The CX600 Corsair or CX600M will give you enough power head room.
