graphics upgrade

I have a HP PAVILLION - p7-1174 and bought a R6670 RADEON graphics card and cannot get the monitor to see.

the monitor says scanning then says no signal and goes to sleep. now the integrated graphic card disconnect when I plug the card, but is it possible to disable the edge? I have not upgraded to food, but I wanted to see if it would work without that because there is no catch to this map. I guess that's just sux power out of the motherboard.

or I have to power to make it work?

Windows7 64 bit premium.

Thanks for any info on this.

has taken raeon, purchased card nvidea works very well! Thanks for all you help!

  • 7387A 11... Graphics upgrade?

I'm new to this forum and here on behalf of my sister-in-law. After having spotted the different themes of the forum and paid in various manuals, I thought I would try this approach. I found Lenovo guides to be too generic. Our quest is to upgrade the graphics on its system, because children have some problems trying to play various games. If I missed the final I apologize in advance.

Its model number (as she gave it to me) is A 7387, 11. If I understand the Lenovo Web site it's a 3000 J115. Operating system is Vista. The obvious question is: graphics are upgradable on this system? The manual seems to suggest the presence of a PCIe x 16 location. (I have currently no direct access to the machine to confirm this.) A further review of the manual really does not reveal much information about the various parameters of the bios on turn off on-board graphics. In fact, I can locate no direct mention of a graphic upgrade procedure, which should really be front-and-Center. So, until I get my hands on this and so I have no surprises when I, can someone enlighten me on these 2 specific points? I will also be getting the memory but not much of a cause for concern.

    Thank you.

Well, I'll answer myself. Problem has been resolved.

The map that I chose to install required a 300W PS, installed 380W. As Lenovo has been totally absent in the BIOS information I've fumbled through it. Put the video to PEG (PCI EXPRESS GRAPHICS... and no explanation in one of the documents from Lenovo). Also from memory and installed 2 GB. Fact.

Hello Rascal, apparently, your system may be a little old to run any recent video games.

Here a link to the plug on the motherboard, and it shows the system comes with 512 MB of system memory and a maximum of 1 GB of system memory.

It also has a video feature embedded VIA with 64 MB of video card memory. It has a slot machine video AGP.

Carpet is it possible to upgrade the video card AGP, but I doubt you'd see much improved performance.

    Just some thoughts.

  • Pavilion AMD A8-6500: graphic upgrade

    Hi all

My son has a HP Pavilion AMD A8-6500 with Radeon HD 3.50 ghz graphics card.

It now wants to update as graphic says not good enough.

What our options are, what is implementing implement as buying a better graphics card or is it more complicated?

    see you soon

    Jason

    Hi there @Jason1966,

That the Forums are with you!  I understand that you are looking for advice on upgrading a graphics card.  I'm happy to help you with this.

Please report the number of complete product from your computer. Check out the following, if you need assistance with this information. HP desktop PC - how can I find my model number, serial number or product?  Once I got that I can give you more in the way of what to look for.

In general, you should know what types of expansion slots your computer is available. More recent graphics cards will focus you on PCI Express x 16 slots and their willingness to be a version or the generation of these slots.  If the motherboard has only Gen 1.0, and the graphics card is Gen 3.0, then the card would work, but it will run more slowly he would in a slot of Gen 3.0. So you want to look at the capacity of your computer's power supply. A common value is 300 W. Higher end graphics cards will be a requirement of minimum recommended power of 400 W or more, although there are cards with a lower requirement. It is always better to have a power that exceeds the minimum value. Also related to food some graphics cards require extra power of a specific type connections. You must make sure that your diet has these connections available. Then, make sure that the card has drivers for the operating system installed on your computer, and if the card is UEFI, make sure that your system has UEFI.

If all these parameters are filled between your system and the card, the graphics card should work, but there is never a guarantee, because each computer system is as an individual, once it's in the hands of a user. You may have already installed another device that is in conflict with this card or perhaps a software which does not get her drivers graphics. So long story short, it is not easier to just buy a better card, you need to do some research.

I hope this helps clarify the issues for you and if you find it helpful and useful, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

15 - e020tx is the model and there a processor i7 and switchable graphics with Radeon HD 8670 so it is pretty high-end as laptops go, but it's what they are. On laptops in general in most cases, including your case, no video 'card is' to be removed, replaced or upgraded. She is soldered directly to the motherboard. There is no way to upgrade in other words.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 M (2 GB dedicated DDR3 memory)

    2.4 GHz Intel Core i7-4700MQ

    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3L

In addition, how to check what is the limit of upgradation.

Need help please guys, I would have

    Thank you.

Cadence is like the speedometer for the video card. More power equals more images per second. The higher the resolution, the more power, keep the same pace. To drive a screen UHD (4 k or even 5 k) a powerful video card to demanding games at a playable speed. Anything more than a year will fall short. You face the eternal dilemma. Everything you buy will not upscale within 90 days. But it is a good time to buy as we just went through a major upgrade point; Skylake platform is a game changer and if you get something with a 6th gen i7 and a 4 k monitor and the best map video there now, you will be good for years to come.

    Hello

    Please read here http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=13

As you can see, Cpu and Gpu upgrade is not a good idea. Even if your motherboard can handle it but the Bios is not pre-tested for her. In any case, you must contact the Asp (SAV), they can tell exactly whether it is supported or not.

  • Graphics upgrade of Office CQ5624P and power supply

I'm not a great player, I'm looking for a way to use a 50 "flat screen and my pc monitor at base of household use, movies and low end games... Help appreciated... Thank you.

    Hello again FLknights,

I can't make a recommendation, but I can give you some information. First of all, the graphics card you are looking at is a PCI Express 2.0 x 16, and who can worry because you do not have a PCI Express 2.0 x 16 slot on your Board. If you are concerned don't be there is no difference that he connects on your Board, so it should work fine.

Looking at the two UCP will work and both leave you with room for growth if you decide to go this route. You certainly need to change the power supply though as the 250 watt installed is not sufficient for the needs of new cards 300watts.

In addition, the graphics card supports the operating system of Windows XP to Windows 8. For me, it would mean that you should also make sure that when you go to turn off the chart embedded in the BIOS you also enable Legacy Support or material according to what you see.

I hope this helps. Thanks again for your post on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • RAM & Graphics upgrade Satellite S2450-S203 Is It possible?

Hi, first of all, I don't absolutely know nothing about the inside of a laptop.
I get conflicting advice from resellers of memory. Some say I can spend current 512 MB
    (2x256mb configuration at present) to 768 MB (512 MB + 256 MB), a configuration 2 x 512 MB and another person even provides 2 x 1024 mb works perfectly.
Would like to know of a satellite of colleagues tosh owner just what is the max memory sure I can adapt.

Also is it possible to upgrade the 32 MB nvidia graphics factory in this laptop to something more powerful. Need a minimum of 64 MB to play the new Call of Duty 2. I know I shouldn't, but the toshiba is so reliable, that I hesitate to change back to a desktop pc with a graphics card than 256 preinstalled.

Would appreciate the help of this forum, as retailers of memory are only interested sales max, or so it seems.

    Hello

Well, as I know the unit has 2 slots of memory and the maximum memory size that is supported is 1024MB.
In this case, you can use 2x512MB
In addition, you must PC2100 DDR - RAM modules like these:

    PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
    PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)
    PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51)

On the graphics card: no, it of not possible to update the graphics card because of limited space and overheating problems.
