Group AD in windows 2008 share permission

I have a windows Server 2008 with Active directory is installed on it.   There is a group named "devs" with users A & B. I shared a folder 'Software' and allowed developers to have full access to the share permissions. They can read, but can not write. But if I add A user in the group permissions and allow access to change, it works.

Don't know what is the reason.

You must configure the user name mapping in Services for UNIX/NFS and map the root user.  Detailed instructions here: http://www.sohoadvisers.com/tutorials/vmware-esxi/connect-esxi-to-windows-nfs.  I was able to implement some hosts to use my Windows NFS export, but it was a bit unreliable.  This is a configuration not supported with VMware...

  • Windows 2008 Server R2 Std - issue of Best Practice Analyzer

Windows 2008 Server R2 Std - question BPA
I built a new Windows 2008 R2 Standard Server and configured as a domain controller. When you run the BPA I get the following error, which I can not solve:

    Question:
The default domain controllers policy is not in force on the OR OR = Domain Controllers, DC = WRIGHT.
    Impact:
If the Group Policy settings that are defined in the default domain controllers policy are not applied to domain controllers, Active Directory operations may fail.
    Resolution:
Link the default domain controllers policy to the ORGANIZATION OR unit = Domain Controllers, DC = WRIGHT

The default domain controllers policy is linked to the domain controllers OU. I dun dcdiag and the only failure is NCSecDesc but I don't plan to add an RODC to the forest. When I run the resulting strategy game I can see domain controller policy has been applied.
Is there something I can do to clear this error message?

  • How can I get all the connections on a windows 2008 r2 through a VPN server?

How can I route all internet connections on a Windows 2008 Standard r2 through a VPN server?

When I try to run just on an account administrator through regular networking, it hits the vpn in offline mode when someone else that the administrator is trying to distance in.

I have to use a vpn, because I'm on a school network and have permission to use the server, but I have to do my own static IP address.  My solution for the static IP address, he ran through a VPN with data unlimited which ended with a dedicated static IP address.

I run a network of Windows 2008 Server r2 with a storage unit attached to the network that we put on our shared files.

I can access the shared files of most of my computers on the domain, but there are a few that have WINXP Pro can't do. Some of the XP computers can access it, but the only people who can't are XP. I think it might be something with the local security settings, but I'm not sure. The error I get is: \\server name \sharing folder is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have permissions.  The request is not supported.   All users have permissions and can view the files from other computers just these few who have been able to do actions. Any help would be useful.

  • Windows 2008 - HP Laserjet 2100 PCL6

    Hello

I have a number of HP Laserjet 2100 that I can install on our 64-bit Windows 2008 servers.  However, when I try to install additional drivers for x 86 systems and directly the dialog box to the location where the drivers have been unzipped in I get the following message.

The specified location does not contain the driver HP LaserJet 2100 PCL6 for processor architecture required.

The driver that I downloaded is lj2100pcl5ewin2kxp2003 - .exe

    Any help would be great.

    Thank you

    Mark

    Solved!

You must add additional drivers with an x 86 computer.  For this I've sailed on the "Printers and faxes" share on the domain controller or the printer server.  Right click on the printer in question, select Properties, click Sharing, click additional drivers, put a tick against the operating system you want to install the driver to then follow the guests.

  • in the right user account after the connection in the task bar icon flashes "windows need your permission to continue".

I got a virus in my Vista computer cse.exe the so-called fake-AntiVirus. He has changed the file association for exe files. I fixed it and and deleted the program as well as its footprint in the registry. The virus attacks when I was in a non-administrative account. Therefore, any changes made to the registry were in the CURRENT_USER section.
Still a problem. If I connect as User1 [non-admin] before any other action is taken, I see a tab flashing in the taskbar. It says "Windows needs your permission to continue". If I try to remove it the Explorer window dies and I get a clean screen with wallpaper and I have to restart. Of course if I provided the 'root' password every thing seems OK. I tried to identify any processes that can ask something looking at the tables Task Manager but don't see anything suspicious. If I do not touch the flashing tab I open the other Wndows Explorer since the icons I have on the desktop and NOT additional UAC asks pop up. The computer so that these experiences if offline. There is an another non administrator account on this computer. If I connect you no problem can be observed. Everything happens only in the account where the virus attacked.
Any idea? Can I find out what program is doing admin type of request?
    Victor

    Hi Victor,

How to remove the virus from the computer?
I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Scan your computer with Microsoft Safety scanner for viruses and check if that helps.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Method 2: Run check file system (CFS) analyses and checks to see if it helps.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Note: SFC system gives an administrator the ability to scan the files all protected to check their versions. If the System File Checker detects that a protected file has been replaced, it retrieves the correct version of the file in the folder cache (% Systemroot%\System32\Dllcache) or the Windows installation source files and then replaces the incorrect file. System File Checker verifies and repopulates the cache folder also. You must be logged in as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group to run the System File Checker. If the cache folder is damaged or unusable, you can use the sfc/scannow, sfc /scanonce or commands sfc /scanboot to repair its contents.

Method 3: To fix an account corrupted, please follow the steps in the link and check if that helps.

Method 4: To find out which program makes admin request type, check Event Viewer and check if that helps.
    Open event viewer
