Group Policy (Windows Server 2012)

I am using Microsoft Server R2 Standard Edition 2012. I facing ' am question is, I applied a group policy, to block all USB ports on computers in the domain. So without knowing it also applied to the servers in the network. After a while I had to disable the NIC in the server and hit restart. To my great surprise, the group policy is applied, and I am unable to use same USB keyboard and mouse after the restart of the process to the Welcome screen.

I would like to know how to set up a personalized message for the prevention of the installation of the software via group policy in windows server 2012 R2.

I released some software in my field to a distribution point and I of installation for few of them software restriction policies. But I don't want the default next message below:

    Hi all

I created 6 virtual servers Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. However, there are 2 weeks 3 to 6 servers randomly lost connectivity (ping returned request) outdated, unable to control remotely,... several times until I have restart servers, connectivity was back. Even if 3 other servers do not have this problem.

  • Remote access Windows Server 2012 through internet with desktop connection

Summer messing about with it for days and don't get no love.

Try to connect with Windows 7 Ultimate edition to Windows Server 2012 Data Center version from outside my home network, Starbucks or McDonald's or my server at home.

Tried all these steps found in this promising and useful article:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/allow-remote-desktop-connections-from-outside-your-home-network

    1. Allow connections to the computer you want to access remotely. DONE - ADDED to THE SERVER AND NON-ADMIN ACCOUNT to RDP GROUP of ROLES, using network level authentication. Connection of Win 7, so this method of authentication should not be a problem, I assume.
    2. Make sure that remote desktop is able to communicate through your firewall. DONE - FOR BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE RULE.

    3. Find the IP address of the computer on your home network you want to connect. MADE - by using the ipconfig/all command

    4. Open your router configuration screen and worms forward port 3389 for TCP IP address of the destination computer. DONE - NOT TCP/UDP but TCP only, internal and external port goes. Note: The use of a booster signal wifi at the end of the House, it is a problem that requires additional configuration? I don't think he has an ip address or acts as a router. But in desperation I can try unplugging then again head the local Starbucks to try to connect.

    5. Find the IP address of the router so that the remote desktop can be found on the Internet. DONE - using "what is my ip", pretty easy.

    6. Open Remote Desktop connection, and connect. ACTUALLY, I think THAT, IN ENTERING [ip router]: 3389.

But the result of the message is always the typical:

    (1) remote access to the server is not enabled.

    > But this is not true, that I am capable of the DRC at home on the server machine.

    (2) computer remote is not off.

    > But this is not true, as I just left home 30 minutes and sometimes it's rarely, only restarted.

    (3) the remote computer is not available on the network.

    > Don't know what that means. Of course the remote computer is not on the network, I am on right now. It's on my home network. But I can ping my router ip via cmd, then coming to the outside can be done; through my router, I should be able to access inside my home network port forwarding w. But no love.

So... what to do, what to do...

The wifi booster is a problem?

Connects to the Data Center edition a problem?

What happens if I uncheck the option ' use authentication NLA, is that the passage of the security risk?

Any ideas about the configuration I could be missing before giving up and go for VPN or TeamViewer. I would really like to see materialized during all the time that I put in trying to run the DRC.

    Thanks for any input.

    / Markus

  • monitor Windows Server 2012

    Hi guys,.

has anyone tried to monitor a Windows Server 2012?

I have configured the IC agent and information identification and on the box, I added a user located in some management groups, but all I get is the following alarm:

Could not establish a connection to the : receipt HTTP/401 - rejected powers

    Any ideas?

    Best regards, Falco

FglAM tries to automatically detect the Kerberos parameters to Negotiate authentication, but (currently), this can be done on Windows machines. R & D is studying the possibility to detect automatically on Unix machines for a future version. Current to negotiate authentication from a Unix system, the krb5.conf file needs to be provided for WinRM (using the Negotiate authentication) to work. Foglight admins can provide the krb5.conf file themselves using the substitution of debugging option described in the section of the documentation of FglAM Configuration of Windows Remote Management (WinRM) .

  • Then Windows Server 2012 or any version of Windows Server can detect whether a USB WindowsToGo is used?

Hi, I am a newly assigned system admin and don't make broad not yet know about it as I met recently. I managed a small business is composed of 15 to 20 computers. The previous system already admin configured everything ADC Policy GPO. An employee was able to install a software game on a computer she used when I checked, she was using the WindowsToGo USB. I am a little confused because it never trigger alarms on the ADC server, assuming a different computer on the WindowsToGo name. Is there a way to monitor this or any third party software that could determine if any WindowsToGo USB or a USB bootable is used?

  • OMSA on Windows Server 2012

I installed v7.3 of OMSA on a new Windows Server 2012 box.   The installation seemed to go OK, but I'm having a problem that can connect to it with the domain credentials.   He seems to accept the credentials, but then it immediately comes to the login prompt.  The reason why it seems to accept, is that if I type intentially incorrect credentials, then he will say "Login Failed", but if this is correct, it refreshes the screen just and returns to the login prompt.  This happens if I'm logged in locally on the server or do it remotely.   I added the server to my confidence and groups of the intranet in the browser.  I turned firewall.  I check the box "Active Directory" (although I tried it checked and it does not work either).  No errors appear in the newspaper, unless there is a newspaper in the OMSA directory I should be looking.   If I type in a local account, such as \Administrator with a password, it connects and works.   I have installed on all our other servers OMSA and they don't seem to have a problem, but it's our first box Server 2012, others are all 2008 R2.

    Any thoughts?

FYI, Dell has released a fix for 7.3.0.1 and this issue seems to have been fixed!

  • Windows Server 2012 stuck at startup when running on top of KVM with active regrouping of CPU

    Hi all

We observe an interesting problem when running Windows Server 2012 on top of KVM to multiple processors.

When the collection of the CPU is disabled, Windows starts and works very well.

When the grouping of CPU is activated by:

    bcdedit /groupaware on
    bcdedit /groupsize 2

Windows hangs at startup while displaying a black screen with logo and won round progress indicator.

We have produced the crash dump by injection of interruption NMI via QEMU/KVM debugging facilities, the look of stacks of appeal as follows:

There are always two or more CPUs stuck in KeFlush...() functions dealing with IPIs.

The problem looks like interrupt loss during IPI-ALL-BUT-SELF dispatching, we tried to track possible problems in KVM code that may lead to an issue like this but found nothing so far.The issue looks even more interesting taking into consideration that as far as we know CPU grouping is SW-only feature that doesn't have real effect on hardware. We will be grateful for any idea that could help to resolve the problem. Thanks in advance!P.S. Kernel crash dump is available at https://www.dropbox.com/s/07qb6wz9nacwhxn/MEMORY.DMP.zip?dl=0

  • AUSST 4.0 on Windows Server 2012 R2 installation

    Hello

I am installing AUSST on Windows Server 2012 R2 with IIS 8.5, although I can't get the thing to work!

I followed the instructions to use the Adobe update (AUSST) server configuration tool if I do something wrong.

All updates have been downloaded to the directory "c:\AdobeCloudUpdate" (a little more than 80 GB). I created a new web site in IIS to point to this directory as root and set the permissions to the local group 'IIS_USERS' read, list, etc.

I followed the instructions to add the types of files for maps to the level of the server, changed the classic and set AppPool to update the 'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\config\web.config' file with the veriables add path to 5 file types.

When you try to access the "updaterfeed.xml" of a client computer using the full URL of the "http://co-au-01.contoso.msft/webfeed/oobe/aam20/win/updaterfeed.xml", I get a XML page cannot be displayed error.

    Capture1.PNG

I created a file of substitution of "AdobeUpdater.xml" and added this to a new package is created in Packager CC and deployed just Photoshop and Office CC application. When I load the soft CC I get a download error when you try to view the applications.

    Capture2.PNG

I tried to change other web.config files not found on the Server IIS ("C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\config") and also the v2 of .net and .net v4 in the 'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64', but no joy.

I hope it's a very simple solution and just miss a step but little help would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Tom

Something I've discovered here is that you need to add a wildcard on the VAC/services/FAC file MIME type (more precisely the validation file), because the files of validation is not an extension so he threw back a 404 error.

I hope it suits it for you!

  • Windows Server 2012 with EFI fails to start after reset of HA

    The purpose of this thread:
    1. a solution, if anyone else has this problem.
    2. If someone has a better knowledge of why this happens or how avoid feel free to explain it please.

    The scenario:

I was a new analysis a HBA via the Web Client (something I've done many times before in the non-Web client without any problem...) and loses connectivity to the ESXi host. No response from the ESXi at all and I've noticed a GROUP... That's fine for now...

The biggest problem is that the VM on the failed host installs via HA to my other ESXi in the cluster, each of them has started normally except my 2012 server s. Just the Automatic Startup Repair Wizard has started, and I couldn't do much from there... I tried a few things auto repair, but they could not fill...

So, I entered the command line tools and ran from diskpart. Discs not presented at all. That's where he hit that I use PVSCSI drivers for my 2012 s server so I was trying to understand how I could inject the command line, but I tried something else first...
I started the virtual machine on the ISO 2012 server. Tried the option repair, no OS not found to fix, so I chose a new installation and loaded drivers PVSCSI pvscsi-floppy, interrupted the installation and tried the repair option again. He said something like "Continue to start Windows Server 2012" and viola! The VM rebooted successfully and started successfully in the operating system.

All 3 2012 Server virtual machines on failure that esxi is affected. No Server 2008 or linux where affected machines but they do not use the pilot PVSCSI.

Anyone has a solution alter or maybe an explanation why this happened? This will happen if HA into action on my server 2012 s?

Is it possible to test or confirm without killing an ESXi host?

I am running vSphere 5.5 and I don't think that I had this problem with 5.0 or 5.1, but I'm not 100% sure that cause I don't remember no matter which GROUP or another that are running older versions of the failure.

Hardware version is 9, EFI boot.

    Thank you!

Finally, I solved this... Looks like a mistake to the EFI initialization after reset of a HA. I know EFI is not supported by FT but I'm only using HA I can't find anywhere that it says that it should not work.

This is how I fixed the corrupt WS2012 boots:

1 boot WS2012 ISO, select new installation, load drivers PVSCSI, interrupt installation and choose repair. (Only needed if PVSCI-pilot helps you bootdisk)
    2. choose Help and then command Promt
    3. Run diskpart
    flight type list
Locate the number of the partition-small FAT32 EFI, in my case nr 3
    Salt type flight 3

    type assign

    flight type list

Choose the letter assigned, in my case E:
    Type exit

    4 cd /d e:\efi\microsoft\boot

    5 ren BCD BCD.bak

    6 bcdboot c:\windows/l en-us/s E: /f ALL

    7 bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

    Bootrec /scanos

    Bootrec /rebuildbcd

Don't know if all these are necessary... However, it works. Note that the scanos and rebuildbcd show 0 found BONES.

8 exit the command prompt and click on "Continue starting the server 2012" after that recharge should work properly again.

  • ProBook 6560 b: wireless network drivers - R2 Windows Server 2012

Would like to know if one got successfully installed Windows server 2012 R2 drivers. I try to install the drivers wireless for two days now and could not get their work. Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello:

I don't work for or represent HP.

All I can advise is that HP offers no support or drivers for all windows server operating systems for any mobile business or consumer they ever made.

With this track record, I doubt very much they will be.

In addition, it would be Intel to release Windows Server drivers for their wireless cards, not HP.

I've never seen a card driver wireless for windows server on the Intel Web site.

Normally the equivalent standard windows drivers work on Windows server most of the time.

For example: If you had installed Windows Server 2008 R2 on your laptop, wireless Intel W7 driver probably would work.

But since there is no equivalent W10 driver for the wireless card model that your laptop is, I have a feeling that is the reason why the wireless card does not work.

You may laugh with some of the advanced settings for the card under the Advanced tab in Device Manager to see if you can get the card to work.

    Enable WMM for example.

  • Satellite C660 - 1 DG-drivers of Windows Server 2012

I started Windows Server 2012 (for development purposes).

Now... where can I find the drivers?

    * display driver *-lets start with the display driver (for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD) when I look for the display driver in the support forum I only find the driver of Intel for Windows 7, but there is none yet for Windows 8? -Installed Windows 7 driver - works ok :)
    * sound driver * -.

    What drivers Miss do you?

Fact is that Toshiba offers all drivers for supported operating systems.
