Groups & redundant index

First of all, I read the Cisco Content Services Switch redundancy Configuration Guide for version 7.40 and version 8.10. I am active-backup VIP and Virtual Interface redundancy configuration. I like Cisco documentation, but sometimes I can not just to wrap my brain around their examples. In my case, they are simply too simplistic; In addition, I have a few unanswered questions:

1. what happens if I do not create an "essential service"? Will be my redundant services and content still rules maintain flows if my assets goes down?

2. do I need to source in order for the ASR groups function properly? My stand-alone configuration uses them, and I'd rather not add them if they are not necessary (Cisco docs aren't clear on the need).

3. is there a meaning to the #s what to choose for "redundant-index? They must just be different for each rule of service/content, correct?

Thank you - I appreciate the comments (I'm still waiting for an engineer Cisco sent me a configuration of redundant balancer with several personalities...)

1 critique service: is used to detect a failure in the respectable which should lead to the (failover) failue of the css. So it is an option. most of the time, it is also used for the sharing of fate: two virtual routers (client/server side) use the same critical service

2 source groups are used for nat - ing are not necessary for the asr, but if you have them in the normal design u should make redundant

3 redundant-index: there is not matter

Tip: do not forget global portmap

  • Using of "get the N first lines only" does / * + FIRST_ROWS ([N]) * / redundant index?

    I know FIRST_ROWS indicator shows the optimizer to minimize the time of the first row.  I know that the new feature of 12 c for "fetch [FIRST |]» [NEXT] [N] LINES [ONLY |] WITH LINKS] "get first/next N lines only / with ties" will implement the query using ROW_NUMBER().  Should I leave hint in case it improves performance, or the clause FETCH FIRST made this redundant suspicion?

    Hi Wes and Hoek,

    Oracle said on the indicators in the 12 c setting guide. Each version of this statement becomes stronger.

    The disadvantage of the advice is additional code that you must manage, audit and control. Tips have been introduced in Oracle7, when users have little recourse if the optimizer generated suboptimal plans. Because changes in the database and host environment can make obsolete tips or negative consequences, it is a good practice to test the use of indicators, but use other techniques to manage the execution plans.

    Oracle provides several tools, including how to set up SQL, SQL plan management and SQL Performance Analyzer to solve performance problems unresolved by the optimizer. Oracle strongly recommends that you use these tools instead of advice because they provide new solutions like the change of environment data and database.

    Oracle presents advice in V7, basically as an admission that its optimizer based on CSSTidy based cost did not get things right all the time and tried to get rid of them since. In addition, the preferred method of setting when you are browsing the major updates was to review advice to remove them. It will be interesting to what extent can it be pushed in V12.

    In what concerns the first lines index and ROWNUM limiting, unless you just try to get the garbage data, it's meaningless without the presence of an ORDER BY. Once you have an ORDER BY, the query must retrieve all the data before it can return anything. The exception to this rule is if there is an index that the database can use to retrieve already ordered data, that is to say on the order of columns. Therefore, the essence of the indication of FIRST LINES. It will be aggressive looking in the index in favor if the index is in line with the order of. (Try the setting of a SIEBEL instance if you need proof)

    I don't have a 12 c to test at the moment, but looking at the examples of Martin, it appears the optimizer is aware of the new windowing function in the new FETCH FIRST/NEXT structure and selects a plan that gives the best answer. If you go through the effort to review suggested rownum limited requests to remove the tips if possible, maybe you should just rewrite with new windowing function.

    I hope that answers your question

  • Difference between ADVM Volume and filesystem ACFS ASM disk group

    Q1. What is the difference between an ASM disk group and a Volume of ADVM?

    In my opinion, an ASM disk group is actually a logical volume to the database (including the FRA files) files.

    11 GR 2 appears to have introduced the notions of volumes ADVM and filesystems ACFS.

    11 GR 2 ASM disk group can contain:

    • ASM disks
    • Volumes ADVM
    • Filesystems ACFS

    Q2. ADVM volumes appear to be dynamic volumes.

    However is it therefore not effectively overlaying a logical volume (the volume ADVM) under ASM disk group (conceptually a logical volume as well)?

    Even worse, if you left the ASM disk group redundancy in hardware RAID / SAN level (as recommended Oracle), you actually have 3 layers of logical disk? (ASM on top of ADVM on top of RAID/SAN)?

    Q3. If it is 2 layers of logical disk (i.e. on top of ADVM ASM), what makes this better than 2 layers using a 3rd party volume manager (for example the DSO at the top of the 3rd party LVM) - something Oracle encourages against?

    Q4. ACFS file systems, seem to be file systems clustered for not including ORACLE_HOMEs database files, application exe etc (but NOT GRID_HOME, OS root, OCR or voting records)

    Can you create / modify filesystems ACFS using ASM.

    The diagram of topology of oracle for ASM in ASM 11 GR 2 administration guide, says ACF in ASM. I'm not sure about that if ACFS belongs to ASM or ASM is located at the top of the ACF?

    Q5. Connected to the 4th quarter. There seems to be a number of different ways, ACFS file systems can be created? Which of this is the valid methods?

    • Thanks to ASM?
    • through native OS file system creation?
    • through OEM?
    • through acfsutil?

    my head explodes

    Any help and clarification appreciated

    Jim

    Q1 - volume ADVM is a type of special file created at the DG of the DSO.  Once created, it creates a block device on the BONE itself which can be used as any other block device.  http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E16655_01/server.121/e17612/asmfilesystem.htm#OSTMG30000

    Q2 - the asm disk group is a group of disks, not really a logical volume.  It combines the attributes of both when it is used for purposes of database as the database and some other applications know how to talk about Protocol 'ASM '.  However, you won't find all the versatile applications that can do.  In addition, some clients prefer to deal directly with files and devices of volume systems which ADVM is forced to make.  In your thinking, you have 3 layers of logical disk, but each of them provides features and different attributes.  This is not a bad thing, though, as each has a slightly different purpose - os file system\device, specific database and storage-centric.

    Q3 - ADVM is specifically developed to extend the features of the DSO for use by General applications of BONE.  It includes the performance of database features and is tuned to work well in this situation.  Because it is developed in-house, it benefits from the design of ASM model.  In addition, rather than having to communicate with several vendors for support, your support is limited to calling Oracle, a single window.

    Q4 - you can create and modify filesystems ACFS by using command line tools and the ASMCA.  Creation and modification of logical volumes coming through SQL (ASM), asmcmd and ASMCA.  EM can also be used for the two elements.  ACFS is located at the top of the ADVM, which is a file in an ASM disk group.  ACFS is aware of the characteristics of the ASM\ADVM volumes and tunes it's IO make best use of these features.

    Q5 - several ways:

    1) connect to ASM with SQL, use 'alter diskgroup add volume' as Mihael points out.  This creates an ADVM volume.  Then, put in shape volume using the "mkfs" (* nix) or acfsformat (windows).

    (2) use ASMCA - a GUI to create volume and a file system.  Probably the easiest if your head is explosion.

    (3) use "asmcmd" to create a volume and 'mkfs' to put in shape file ACFS system.

    Here is information on the ASMCA, with examples:

  • JavaScript to determine the color of background/outline named pathItem [index]?

    I'm looking to build a control upstream of sorts for my Illustrator workflow (because for some reason... upstream in illustrator does not exist...).

    Essentially, I need to loop through the pathItems on each work plan looking for a specific spot color (first check that the task of color does NOT exist as a fill color in one of the work, then check for any pathItem that contains the task of color such as a stroke).

    This seemed to be a very simple task, but it seems that pathItems.fillColor or pathItems.strokeColor is not a valid property? Which confuses me because she works to apply a color to a pathItem... It seems to me that if you can apply a color via pathItems.fillColor, you should also be able to create an if clause that determines if pathItems.fillColor is (regardless of color). However, test it in the simplest of documents in which I know what the result of the if clause should be, it does not work. is there something I'm missing here on the fillColor/strokeColor property?

    Here's the code I'm working with. Thank you, all.

    #target Illustrator

    var docRef = app.activeDocument;
    var aB = docRef.artboards;
    var swatchList = docRef.swatches;
    var tC = swatchList.getByName("Thru-cut");
    var tCCount = 0; //how many artboards/top level groups contain at least 1 Thru-cut stroke?
    var artLayers = docRef.layers;
    var groups = artLayers[0].groupItems;
    var aBtCCount = 0; // how many artboards have
    var aBnoTC = []; //  which artboards/top level groups (by index) do not contain at least 1 Thru-cut stroke?

    for (a = 0; a < aB.length; a++){
        aBtCCount = 0
        var items = groups[a].pathItems;
        for (b = 0; b < items.length; b ++){
            if (items[b].fillColor == swatchList.getByName("Thru-cut")){
                alert("You have Thru-cut fills in your document!!");
                break;
                } //end if // thru-cut is fill
            else if (items[b].strokeColor == swatchList.getByName("Thru-cut")){
                tCCount++;
                break;
                } //end if // thru-cut is stroke
            else{
                tCCount = 0;
                } //end else // set counter to 0
            }//end for loop B // checking items on each artboard
        if(tCCount == 0){
            aBnoTC.push(" " + a);
            }//end if // artboard has no cut line
        else{
            aBtCCount++;
            }//end else // add to counter for total artboards w/ thru-cut
        alert(tCCount);

        }//end for loop A

    if (aBtCCount < aB.length){
        alert("Artboard/s " + aBnoTC + " are missing Thru-cut lines");
        }//end if // not enough cut lines

    Access to the task of color by color background or outline of a path element when it is a spot color is just a little bit more complicated, you've got to go pathItem.fillColor.spot.name.

    To see if an undesirable color is found in the document, you can use a more effective method by analyzing the InkList of the document - it has the information you see in the print output dialog box.
    alert (document.inkList) will show you the collection of ink plates.

    What do you mean by "transform Oracle?

    If you are referring to the integrated database XSLT processor available through XMLTransform or DBMS_XSLProcessor API, it does not support XSLT 2.0, 1.0 only.

    If you use the XDK Java (oracle.xml.parser.v2) Please give the exact version.

    My x 360 spectrum stops to get into sleep after a few hours of normal behavior.  In other words, when the computer is started first, he put on standby and Hibernate mode then normally after the specified idle period.  It can then be woken up and work normally and then to go back to sleep after inactivity - during a few hours.  It stops working after the computer has been for a few hours.  I don't know exactly how much time must be in place before this problem starts, but once it ceases to be able to sleep, the only way to solve the problem is to reboot the system.  Once the problem occurs, the computer turns off the screen but that's it.  He will sleep if I do it manually by pressing the button of power or a click on the Windows button and forcing them to sleep or hibernation.

    I watched powercfg /requests and there is nothing listed that could prevent sleep.  I ran also report with fluo compact powercfg and it also does not list something that prevents apparent sleep.

    I found a thread on Microsoft answers community web site.  Unfortunately, it seems that Microsoft has not fixed even though this thread is over a year.  This has been driving me crazy.  In any case, the problem is with Windows 8.1 and is caused by the use of a Microsoft account to connect to the computer.  If the account is not connected, after a few hours the computer stops to fall asleep.  If you close the MS account, then the computer will sleep normally.  My dose is to convert my connection from the local computer to a local account and disconnect from Microsoft.  This process is easy to do, go into the settings of PC and disconnect the account.  It will keep your original profile.

    Here is the link to the thread that got clued in the solution:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows8_1-performance/Windows-81-refuses-to-sleep-automatically-idle/6ab4aaaf-31bd-4baf-ABC6-62ba8c8260aa?DB=5&page=2&rtAction=1452178632575

    I consider this resolved issue that HP is concerned.  Microsoft needs to address the issue.  I'm not interested in switching to Windows 10 for compatibility reasons and, in this regard, the same problem can exist in the W10.

  • Windows Search find files but the mistakes of some of them, which are open normally when it is accessed to follow the path of the error opening

    My client uses Windows Search to help track the files in a fairly large groups. Indexing and everything seem to work very well, but when the user performs a search, it returns the information that are expected, but when you click on some of the files that it generates this error:

    "Cannot find 'file:///s:/XXXXX/XXXXXX.pdf'. "Make sure that Internet address or pat is correct.

    (where XXXX/XXXX are the path and name, of course. It varies and is not a specific place, or all in the same places is originally the same error)

    Varies depending on the issue and the only consistency I've found is than that error all tend to share the same name of 'Owner' and those who work divides different. Yet once again, the 'owners' vary. When browsing directly on the elements, following the exact path in error, the files open fine. In our case, 's:' is a mapped network share, but which seem to be the question either, as the other files in the search located on the same mapped share and in the same directory path work very well.

    To make it even more confusing, the search of all works perfectly on another computer. All users have the same access right, reading/writing/execution, in the cases in question. The file doesn't seem to be open and in-use by other users.

    The system in question is running Windows XP Professional SP3 and is connected to a domain active directory running Windows Server 2003. We have tried to do, and it did not help.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance for anything that can help you!

    Hello Grouchy_M,

    Your Windows XP question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the category of server on Technet. Following your question thanks for posting the link below:

  • Problem with server HQ after upgrade

    Just going through the process of upgradeing our current working installation.

    We have server HQ upgrades of version 3.1.4 who was running successfully under windows 2003 server by using the postgre database integrated in version 4.1.0 on the same server.

    The upgrade process seems to happen unhindered. Then we have configured the option "Run as service" went to windows services and the service started.

    We waited 2 hours and whenever we try to connect to the site we get the message.

    The HQ server is always from.  The database is a bit more than 5 GB in size.

    Should expect us start to have finished now?

    Is there something in particular, that I must look in the newspapers?

    I noticed that there was a previous post with a link to the ports required for HQserver.
    I have checked and I can say none of the ports are used by other programs.  Firewall Windows is not lit on this machine.

    concerning

    Spencer

    It is indeed a redundant index, don't know why it is added here.  Search for db - upgrade.xml in the installer and modify it.  Find the following section:

    precision = columnType "512" = "VARCHAR2" / >

    targetDB 'postgresql' = >
    CREATE INDEX cresp_err_idx ON EAM_CONFIG_RESPONSE USING btree (validationerr)

    Remove the creation of the index:

    targetDB 'postgresql' = >
    CREATE INDEX cresp_err_idx ON EAM_CONFIG_RESPONSE USING btree (validationerr)

    Restart your upgrade.  He will have to investigate why it was put there in the first place.

  • Distribution of ASM &amp; Failgroups

    1. in the document, DATA_0000, DATA_0001 will be two groups of failure automatically.is that at the time?

    Yes, both discs would be in two different groups of failure and each of them would be owned by a single drive.

    2. but the concept of interleaving, mirror file will be stored on discs, for example for a table, some data is stored in a disk, and remaining will be on the other disks. But this scenario will no data when there is failure of the right drive?

    You mix two things. Do not combine striping and mirroring together. You have two disc mirroring would be but since you have only two disks, if we left, there will be no other drives available to support the disk group redundancy, loss of a drive would lead to term for the disassembly of the entire disk group. To confirm this, create a group of records with 3 disks and then lose one of the disks.

    Hi gurus,

    Here, while querying how can I give more relevant for the text1 Text2 column as column?

    I gave an example below. I added some data to your example. You had tags and columns duplicated in your multi_column_datastore, so I fixed it those. I removed the newline delimiter and added a section with sections of field group and add this section to the index settings group. Allows you to search in each section of field and apply different fats. You can apply weights by multiplying by a value entre.1 and 10 or several times multiplier to reduce or increase the score for a particular section.

  • Problem in loop... How to create and lock a set of PathItems?

    Hi all!

    I'm a noob... a very confused

    And I'm not trying to get this thing to work

    So here's what I have. The first loop catches from geometries in the active document and he turns around itself to create duplicates. The second loop is supposed to work around several geometries autour geometries newly created.

    But instead of creating a radiating pattern, copy the following code builds a Tower: for the second loop every time, he seized the last geometry drawn instead of what is in the 'Original '.

    Can someone explain what is the problem? Thank you!

    NumPaths = 1 to frontDocument.PathItems.count

    Set myPath = frontDocument.PathItems.item (NumPaths)

    For index = 0 to 30

    Define newPath = myPath.Duplicate

    Call newPath.translate (100 * sin (6.14* index/30), 100 * cos (6.14* index/30))

    Call newPath.rotate (360 * index/30)

    Next

    Next

    The original value = frontDocument.PathItems

    NumPaths = 1 to Original.count

    Set myPath = Original.Item (NumPaths)

    For index = 0 to 30

    Define newPath = myPath.Duplicate

    Call newPath.translate (100 * sin (6.14* index/30), 100 * cos (6.14* index/30))

    Call newPath.rotate (360 * index/30)

    Next

    Next

    something like that?

    first loop is a 'ring', in order to make this 'ring' turning around to make the sphere that you do a group, so the second loop duplicating the 'ring' (Group) and basically does the same thing as the first, but uses the group instead of pathItems.

        For NumPaths = 1 To frontDocument.PathItems.Count
                  Set myPath = frontDocument.PathItems.Item(NumPaths)

                Set myGroup = frontDocument.GroupItems.Add 'add a group

                  For Index = 0 To 30
                            Set newPath = myPath.Duplicate(myGroup) 'add each duplicate to the group

                            Call newPath.rotate(360 * Index / 30)

  • referring to an object in a repeating subform

    Trying to get the value of a text field in a repeating subform (lets call it the subform "Identify") of my form to be set to the value of "TextField18" in the corresponding instance of Subform subform 'groups '.

    In more detail:

    In the form, I ask the question - groups how do you have? The number of this answer is the number of instances of the subform 'Groups' that I have. Within this subform is a text field ("text Field18") where the user will enter the name of the group.

    Later, in a completely different section of the same shape, I have a subform called "identify." I understand how to set the number of instances of "Identify" to match the number of instances of 'groups '. I want to do is have a field 'Identify' display the name of each group (as he entered "TextField18" in the "Groups" subform) - one per instance of the subform.  So if the groups were in Orange, red and purple entered instances of 1-3 respectively on the subform "Groups". I want the field 1 of the "Itentify" subform to autopopulate with Orange and the field in case 2 of autopopulate pending with red and so on.

    Is this possible?  All advice is appreciated!

    Hello

    Your repeated subforms, groups and identify, will have a property index to identify their appearance.  Thus, in the case of calculation of the object textfield to identify using JavaScript place the following code;

    xfa.resolveNode ("groups [" + Identify.index +"]. TextField18") .rawValue;

    This will return the corresponding value in the subforms of groups.  Note You may need to adjust the SOM expression if the groups and identify them are not at the same level.

    I use SQLXML to retrieve the nodes (since I'm on XML_SECTION_GROUP), and stripping the CDATA blocks... then copy it into the out CLOB, back to the appellant.

    Everything seems to work fine, until I find myself with a culmination of the keyword in a HREF... which basically breaks the page with no html tags valid on exit... such as:
    <a href="http://www.linktowebsite.com/<span class="highlight">keyword</span>.shtml#obtain">How to request a copy of a <span class="highlight">keyword</span> already issued</a>
    I have the feeling that this could be due to CDATA and XML block... being escaped on output html tags, and even if null_filter is used for indexing, it ignores the html escape characters and indexes all content stream.

    Any ideas?

    If what you have is html and you must keep intact, then it makes sense to use html_section_group instead of xml_section_group. The following creates a minimal test environment, reproduces the problem with the xml_section_group, and fixes the problem by using html_section_group. Lists of multiples and lexers words are not necessary to reproduce the problem. Markup draws in the field index tables, so what you do afterwards are not relevant to the problem. What follows is therefore only of creating the table with primary key, the insertion of a row of data, the creation of the Group of sections and index, display of chips and markup output. If refine you the code like this, which makes it much easier to understand and reproduce the problem and refine the cause.
