Growth of memory for 2D image control

Good then the 2D image data type is really a string.  It is a series of operations to draw a background image.  So, it of like putting a picture on top of the image that you attract new things, and so the memory increases because all previous layers is no longer able to see, are still in memory.

A small example of this is attached.  Run the VI then first to move back.  Note that the length of string continues to grow even though some parts of the image are covered to the top.

My question is this.  What is the best way to solve this problem?  I have a case where I have an already drawn image and that is fine, but I want to update a part of it (as this VI).  But if I do it again and again the memory grows forever.

I could redraw the entire image each time but I want it to be fast and I'm not sure what will be my photo, I just update a subset of the image based on the pixel location.

I could also convert it to a pixmap and back that seems to work, but is that the right way to do it?  Thank you.

Okay, so a change in the idea. Each section gives an overview of all his stuff. These subdrawings change when change the values that define them. Then combine them together all subdrawings at the last moment before the display.

  • Node property/reference for the image and 'Create VI' inconsistent control?

    Hello

    I encountered this problem several times already and although I have worked around him, so far, I would really like to understand what is it:

    If I have an image display control on the Panel before (IMAQ Vision, not the image control type) and drag a property node or a reference to it on the block diagram, it seems impossible to create a Subvi diagram if the selected objects are equipped with a knot of property image or an image reference. Select 'Create Subvi' won't do anything, don period. No warning, no beep system, no nothing.

    A related issue is that if I have a view control reference on the diagram and try to create a control from it (for example to use as a control on one dimension of connector VI entry), same thing, "Create control" will not do anything.

    Why is this?

    Thanks for your comments.

    X.

    Xavier,

    This was reported to R & D (35835) for further investigations. A possible workaround is to make the Subvi LabVIEW 7.1 and open it in the new version of LabVIEW.

  • Open a disk image and trimming for a picture control

    Hi people,

    I try to let my users (in a browser) to select/open a disk file (image type) so that they can see and then save it to the server.  I can use the FileReference object very well and load its 'result' directly in a MX:Image control.  However, before I do that I want to crop the selected image square.  I also want to resize the image down, but that will come later, once I get the job of cropping.

    I'm essentially taking the FileReference result bytearray and conversion to a BitmapData object.  Then I 'extract' a place of this BitmapData object data in a new BitmapData object.  Then I need to get * that * BitmapData object in the mx:image control.  I tried to use a Bitmap of the to do, but the mx:image that results, while the 'companies' displays correctly, as a white Virgin region.  Throughout, the variables seem to be "complete" data and seem to have developed properly.  I looked at a few sites that show images cropping and copies, but they always start with images 'preload '.  I modeled my code after them, if necessary.

    Here is my code:

    This is called when the user clicks a button to "search for a file on disk.

    private function setPhoto (): void
    {
    create the instance of FileReference
    _fileRef = new FileReference();

    _fileRef.addEventListener (Event.SELECT, onFileSelected);

    Look for the file has been opened
    _fileRef.addEventListener (Event.COMPLETE, onFileLoaded);

    var arr:Array = [];
    arr.push (new FileFilter ("Images", ".gif"; *.JPEG; *.jpg, *.png");
    _fileRef.browse (arr); Then let go and leave the event managers treat the result...

    }

    private void onFileSelected(evt:Event):void
    {
    _fileRef.load (); the result of the "load" will be managed by the Manager of 'complete '.
    }

    private void onFileLoaded(evt:Event):void
    {
    var tempLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    tempLoader.loadBytes (_fileRef.data);
    tempLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener (Event.COMPLETE, onLoaderComplete);

    imgPhoto.source = _fileRef.data;  This would work fine, however, it would not be cropped
    }

    private void onLoaderComplete(event:Event):void
    {
    var loaderInfo:LoaderInfo = LoaderInfo (event.target);
    var loadBD:BitmapData = new BitmapData (loaderInfo.width, loaderInfo.height);
    OK, now that we have the 'original' file into the bitmap data, we can crop and then resize it later
    so, we need a "place" of the image cropped from the original
    so... First, we get a square of the image of "size".
    If the image is larger than the scale, we will take a place as large as the image and as high as it is wide, from 5% down from the top
    If the image is larger that high, we will take a square as large as the image and as wide as it is high, horizontal Middle
    var curW:int = loadBD.width;
    var curH:int = loadBD.height;
    var cropX:int = 0;
    var cropY:int = 0;
    var cropW:int = curW;
    var cropH:int = Uchr;
    var needCrop:Boolean = true; default is to crop
    var croppedBD:BitmapData;

    If (Uchr > curW)
    {
    cropY = Math.round (Uchr *. 05); departure at 5% down
    cropH = cropW;
    }
    ElseIf (curW > Uchr)
    {
    cropX = Math.round (curW/2) - Math.round (Uchr/2); start in the Middle, 'back' by half the height
    cropW = cropH;
    }
    on the other
    {
    needCrop = false; It's already a square!  nothing to do (except for resizing)
    }

    If (needCrop)
    {
    croppedBD = new BitmapData (cropW, cropH); at this point, it is 'empty', then the full
    var fillPoint:Point = new Point (0,0); given that we will fill in the upper, left pixel and rollover
    var fillRect:Rectangle = new Rectangle (cropY, cropW, cropX, cropH);
    croppedBD.copyPixels (loadBD, fillRect, fillPoint);
    }
    on the other
    {
    croppedBD = loadBD;
    }

    imgPhoto.source = new Bitmap (croppedBD);  The result is an appropriate size, but the image in white-white
    }

    And here is the mxml for the image:

    < mx:Image id = "imgPhoto" x = "40" y = "126" maxWidth = "200" maxHeight = "200" / >

    Thank you!

    -David

    Hello

    You've been around the solution.

    In "onLoaderComplete(event:Event):void", at the beginning, you create a BitmapData called 'loadBD', you forgot just to fill it with the content of the loaderInfo.

    private void onLoaderComplete(event:Event):void {}

    var loaderInfo:LoaderInfo = LoaderInfo (event.target);

    var loadBD:BitmapData = new BitmapData (loaderInfo.width, loaderInfo.height);

    loadBD.draw (loaderInfo.content);

    ......

    Kind regards

    Hi all

    I faced with the strange behavior of ESX:

    Some linux VMs (RHEL) were stopped. No error messages in the vCenter nor LabManager, I even thought that someone just connected and Runic stop.

    Below you will find information of ESX server logs:

    I found the suggestion to check the ESX memory for problems.

    I found the information that ESX 3.0 was ramcheck service which could check the memory, but there is no such service in future versions of ESX.

    Could someone help me find how to check the memory without stopping the ESX Server (I could not migrate virtual machines per host)?

    The only way you will get a true test of the memory of the HOST must stop it and run the test directly. Any tool running in the ESX console will only have indirect access RAM. The vmkernel controls access to physical RAM.

  • Adjustable memory for NB550D resources

    So after upgrading the memory in my NB550D to a module of 4 GB (3 GB usable) steals the netbook, but I noticed the HD 6250 graphics uses 1 GB of memory for himself, obviously such a graphic of a budget entry has not even need half of this sum, especially that the screen is only 1024 x 600 , so if an admin is to check this, I wondered if in a future BIOS, an option could be added to adjust the amount of GPU memory?

    I'd rather have the GPU using approximately 256MB and rest in the direction of memory system, it does not require as much memory.

    Hey,.

    Who knows if Toshiba released a BIOS where you can adjust the graphics memory but such a function isn't known to me and I doubt it will happen.
    The memory of the graphics card will always be controlled automatically and there is no value that you can change.

    I mean that even 3 GB of RAM is really enough for performance netbook and I doubt you need more RAM and even some programs need more RAM you can use the virtual memory on the HARD drive.

  • Tecra A8 - 103 - how to increase memory for video card?

    Hello

    does anyone know how to increase the memory for the video card on my Tecra A8-103?

    I've heard that I can 'take' of RAM memory and 'Add' to video memory card, but don't know how? I just live in the BIOS, but have not seen this feature?

    I need, because, when I work in Visual Studio .NET and pass code for fashion design, an image disspears and I have to wait 15 to 30 seconds until :(((back what the image

    Therefore, I do not think that increasing memory video card will solve this problem?

    Thank you x 10 in advance

    You cannot pass the VRAM chips, they are soldered to the circuit board.

    On some machines, you can dynamically increase the VRAM by installing more RAM System. Enjoy reading your user manual.

  • the protection of the KING region in the image control.

    I use the return on investment on an image rectangle.

    As you well know, the KING can move or change the size by clicking and moving the mouse.

    But when the user clicks a position outside the KING, the current KING will reset and disappeared from the image control.

    Is there an idea on how to get information about the event or property to protect the KING?

    (Region KING detects the manipulation of the mouse event).

    I just wanted to keep, move or translate the present KING with the handling of the mouse.

    My application must have an entry a consistent ROI in real time.

    labmaster.

    I just put extra code to check if the current KING is valid or not to cash the size of the table of the global rectangle.

    Invalid KING means no size of table or the same position of x 1 and x 2 (for y, the same thing.) of the rectangle.

    I know this isn't a perfect way to keep the KING, but it is OK for me virtually.

When set to true, the execution of a program, it is default (second image, control tab by default) color. I don't know how it goes. Thanks in advance

    You should get the reference of the tab Page and change the color individually if you want.

    -Set the multiple colors allow TRUE: https://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvprop/tabctrl_allow_multi_clrs/

    -Get each reference page:https://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvprop/pagesel_pgs/

    -Then choose color you want: https://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvprop/page_clrsfg_clr/

  • Set the image of the 2d image control

    I do a few installers of pallet for ease of distribution for some libraries that I wrote. I'm following the example of screw (search finder example "palette API").

    I feel a certain sense of frustration by defining the new icon from the palette; the constant of the icon is a 2d image control, but I can't find a way to put my picture in there, and I can't put it programmatically as the image 2d screw control let me just draw shapes in there.

    Oh for a constant of comics, a little unusual, but just for the heck of it.

    (1) unpack attachment and save to disk.

    (2) If you use open LV10 photo Constant_Tree.vi or mass compile directory.

    (3) drag the file image Constant.xnode your DB.

    (4) drag a PNG/JPG/BMP file to the constant and take advantage of the results

    (5) right-click to "Flatten" to a constant of the normal image if you want to use the VI on a machine without this XNode.

    (6) If you wish, add photo Constant.xnode to your Palette, be sure to select all the files so that the .xnode files are visible when you add a VI.

    Yet, you don't want your users to be mucking with the cover and not the block diagram?

  • Missing screws in the 3D 2010 image control?

    Hey everybody,

    I tried to follow this guide to the developer for visualization of Labviews functions:

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/7664

    I discovered that many screws shown here for 3D picture control are not available for (free) module in Labview 2010, even with the control and simulation tool. What is the case for other users?

    Examples of 3D picture control screws that I can't find in Labview 2010 block diagram functions are:

    'building of toroid.vi '.

    'create model.vi '.

    'Add a material.vi '.

    'Create transform.vi '.

    'Add a model.vi '.

    'create camera.vi '.

    «camera look at.vi»

    'create positional light.vi '.

    "make scene.vi".

    "to scene.vi".

    However, I can find the following screw:

    Geometry menu

    'create cone.vi '.

    'create cylinder.vi '.

    'create box.vi '.

    'create the height field.vi '.

    'create mesh.vi '.

    'create sphere.vi '.

    'create text.vi '.

    Object Menu

    'create object.vi '.

    'find the object.vi '.

    Transformations menu

    "to rotation.vi".

    "set rotation.vi".

    "rotation object.vi.

    "to scale.vi".

    "set scale.vi".

    "Object.vi scale".

    "to translation.vi".

    "set translation.vi".

    "translate object.vi.

    'clear the transformation.vi '.

    Menu of aid

    "color change.vi".

    "configuration window.vi".

    'create a clip plane.vi '.

    'texture.vi '.

    "new light.vi".

    "sensor mapping.vi.

    File loading menu

    «load ASE geometry.vi»

    'load the file.vi vrml ".

    "load STL geometry.vi".

    So my question is why can't I access the first list of the screws in 2010, are hidden with screws again features somehow? Or am I missing a library or where these functions abandoned for the 2010 version? If they have been abandoned, is it possible to build a scene and drawing from scratch in the 2010 version?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

    Control of the 3D image is natively available for LabVIEW 2010. The question that you are running is because you try to open a VI that uses the first NOR-Labs 3D Picture Control, which was replaced by the native 3D image control. These functions are "obsolete" and manually replace your code with new API of navigation. You can also try using the old Toolbox, but keep in mind that this is not supported:

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/4411

    Examples of the new API is located in:

    C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2010\examples\picture\3D Picture Control

    and you should be able to find most of the VI need to change your old Toolbox to the new.

    I hope this helps...

  • property of the mouse to the image control

    In LV 8.5 I noticed that if you reset your image to the default control (using the menu drop-down), the position property of the mouse no longer works, it will always return 0.0 no matter where the mouse is in control.  You must destroy and recreate your image control to fix right here.

    Perhaps this problem has been fixed in later versions of LV but I didn't know any documentation of the present.

    Good afternoon Garvacious,.

    When you say that the pop-up menu, I guess you want to tell the menu that is displayed if you right-click on the control.

    I just tried this in LabVIEW 8.6.1.  My position of mouse cursor reads 0.0 when the mouse is over the control and -1, -1 when the mouse is not over the control.  It is a bug.  I have filed the appropriate internal documentation (Corrective Action Request #167102), while R & D is aware of the issue.

    Thanks for letting us know about this behavior.  I'm sorry for any inconveniencce this bug you has done.

  • How can I programmatically draw new circles on an image control

    Hi, I'm fairly new LV and programming in general. I'm creating a program to get better. In this program, I have balls bouncing around on an image control. I use a table to keep track of the ball position (x, y) and the other to follow their speed. I want that whenever a ball reaches the border of the image, it splits into 2 balls. My problem is that I can't find a way to programmatically add these new balls for each draw circle screw must be serialy connected and then drawn on the image. What Miss me?

    You need to iterate over your table of bullets.  This means that the use of automatic indexation.  Now, you have no reason of wire with a value of N in the loop For.  And wiring of this value to the array Index function gives you invalid data it's either nothing, or the ball even if it exists in the table.

    I cleaned up a few other things in your code.

    1 cancel the function.  No need to multiply by-1.

    An array of Index 2.  It is expandable.  Drag the bottom border down.

    Your next bit of code to add would be where you decide to add another ball and put it in the Position and speed tables.

  • 3D image control does not display the full image.

    I'm having a problem with the control of 3D image not showing my entire 3D model.

    At first, I thought it was 'FOG', but when I put the SceneObject Fog.Function to 'No. Fog' he has no effect.

    I tried several settings, but I can't seem to find anything that affects what I'm looking for.

    I included some photos to show what it is I'm looking for.

    If I Zoom in control of the 3D image, I see more of the image in the background.

    I don't know if this is a limitation of the 3D image control or a setting I can change.

    It seems to be your plan of demarcation.

    I forgot how to set it up, but there is a property somewhere node that defines a cup for youi view plan implemented.  There might be a function of the camera, I'm not quite sure...

    EDIT: Found, is as follows:

    Note  To prevent objects 3D appear deformed, avoid the scaling of items not in the plans of delimitation. Near demarcation plan, which defines the nearest plan of the Viewer, the default value is 0 units. The extreme demarcation plan, which defines the demarcation plan further from the Viewer, the default value is 10000 units. You can use the Projectionerspective method to set the values for the plans of delimitation by program

  • How can I determine the position of the mouse in a 2D image control

    I have an app where I would like the user to be able to interact with objects in a 2D image control with the mouse.  To do this, I need to translate between the screen coordinates, which are transmitted with the events of mouse and in the control of 2D image.

    The problem that I am running is that I can't find a way to determine the screen coordinates of the top left corner of the drawing/client of the 2D image control area.  I tried to use the 'Position' of the image control property, but this results in a mismatch because of the difference between the upper-left corner of the image control (including the label, etc.) and the upper left corner of the drawing area.  See attached VI.

    Does anyone know how to get the coordinate of the screen from the corner of the drawing of the control of the photo area?

    Mark Moss

    I tend to use the mouse in the image control property to get the position.  Deals with things like the passage of origin for you.

  • How could I possibly remove the default image in the image control?

    I use the image control and a bit of code to create a zoom on a picture effect. Everything works fine however I get a picture of labview when the Vi is loaded for the first time. I'm trying to get a blank area instead cause it looks like not really tidy!

    I have attached a picture and my code.

    Thanks for your help

    The image is configured to be the default value of "Photo". In other words: you must get rid of the default value. You can do this either by:

    (a) 'Image' of delete and recreate. Disadvantage: You have to re-create all the nodes property associated with this control.

    (b) load an image empty and select "data operations > use current default value.

    hope this helps,

    Norbert
