GS728TP management of IP through DHCP address praised even if static address is configured

I have configured the switch to use the address static IP for using a management VLAN separate VLAN 123. The web gui is accessible through this IP address.

Unknwon reason why switch leases an IP address on VLAN 1 via DHCP management. The web gui is also accessible through this IP address.

The two VLAN has no common membership on any port of the switch. The only cable connected to the switch is the DHCP server on the VLAN 1

Looking at the IP configuration to the web management interface, the value of the field default gateway is the gateway of the DHCP server address, but the IP address of the switch is static.

Software version: 6.0.1.18

Start the verson: 2.0.0.11

Thanks for you suggestions. I solved it in other words.

1 change managed VLAN id 1.

2. change port VLAN 1 and connected, because by default the bridge field was empty. Introduced the setting correct and applied.

3 changed back to the id of the VLAN managed original

4. problem solved.

I couldn't change to DHCP, was an error. But he did

You have the virtual address set to 1.1.1.1?

Also, you have set up the address of the DHCP server on your interfaces VLAN? This is important because the controller basically uses an ip helper address to properly forward DHCP requests.

If you have these configured, try to use the internal DHCP server to test. The web GUI, access controller-> the DHCP server in-house. Configure a DHCP scope and activate it (don't worry, it is only used for wireless clients. It does not meet the DHCP requests on your network).

Now, go back to the controller-> Interfaces and configure the DHCP server to the management interface of the controller. See if your customers are able to get the addresses of the internal scope.

  • With the help of WLC to provide IP via DHCP addresses

Using version 4.0, it is supposed to be a new feature that allows IP addresses to be assigned to the APs via an internal DHCP server of the WLC.

However, there don't seem to be information describing how it would happen.

    Has anyone tried this yet?

Yes, before I built my DHCP server, I used the internal dhcp on the WLC. Runs like a champ. All you have to do is build the scope on the WLC and point the AP manager and management interfaces server option dhcp to the management interface.

  • PC 6248: Obtaining DHCP address for incorrect subnet.

I recently inherited a Dell PowerConnect 6248, which I am not familiar with, and I'm trying to use it as a switch Layer 3.

I have a 10 of VLAN with a network 10.10.10.0/24 and 11 VLAN with an associated network of 10.10.11.0/24.

When I statically assigned addresses on the clients on the ports configured for these VLANs. I can ping other subnets, and traffic is routed correctly.

I also support IP configured in the world pointing to my DHCP server, and I installed the DHCP scopes for the associated networks VLAN 10 and 11.

When I connect a device to a port configured with VLAN 10, I get a the network 10.10.10.0/24 DHCP address.

However, when I connect a device to a port configured with VLAN 11, I receive a DHCP address also in the 10.10.10.0/24 when he should be in the 10.10.11.0/24 network.

The VLAN, routes and extended DHCP appear to be properly set up everywhere. Yet once, when customers use statically assigned addresses their VLANs and adequate networks, traffic is routed normally. But I'm getting DHCP addresses for the incorrect subnet for clients connected to the local network VIRTUAL 11.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Looks like you're real close how it works, we just miss something in the configuration.

When you configure the port for VLAN 11, which command do you run? Once it is configured for that VLAN, we can confirm that by simply running a show on this interface command.

It may be useful to see the configuration running on the whole, this will help us to look for any possible changes, we can offer you.

If you could give us a screenshot or the decrease in the size of the DHCP scope settings, we can help those look too.

    Thank you

  • another computer on your network is using your computer - Hack suspicion - ip address through DHCP lease renewal. Help, please

    Hello fellow Mac users...

Today, while using, Firefox A message appeared on my screen: another computer on your network is using the ip address of your computer.

Now, I am 100% sure that my phone was turned off when it happened. And I have a password on my wifi connection.

I panicked because no one should have access to my network or my IP address. Immediately, I turned off my modem and turned off the wifi on my mac.

Later, I went to renew the DHCP lease.

    My question is this:

Could it be, in theory, based on the message system I (another computer on your network is using the ip address of your computer) the IP address was stolen (for lack of a better word) by a remote user, which is not in my physical neighborhood that is resident in another city or even country?

If so, then I did the right thing by closing my Modem? And later on the DHCP lease renewal? About 20-30 minutes past until what I actually renewed the DHCP lease. It, in theory, could have too late to do (assuming that a malicious user has chosen to masquerade himself with my IP address)?

    Thank you all very much!

  • Y580 - network cards are not through DHCP IP

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can help me please?

I recently bought a new Lenovo Y580 which came with pre-installed Windows 8.

Hated Windows 8, so I erased the hard drive completely of all partitions, installed an SSD and installed Windows 7 on this point using drivers available on the Lenovo Web site.

Now, I have a very irritating problem that the laptop will not get an address IP via DHCP on the wired LAN or wireless LAN.

I need to specify an IP address manually for it to connect.

All other devices on the network are allocated IPs without any problem.

    This could be the cause?

I searched these forums and the only solution I've found someone said they had accidentally activated flight mode, and it worked when it was off. Unfortunately this isn't the problem here, as the plane is definitely off.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you.

    Andy.

Thanks for the suggestion, but in the meantime, I managed to solve this problem...

I started Windows in safe mode with networking, open the property page for the selected network adapter "obtain an IP address automatically" and plugged!

When I rebooted in 'normal' mode, the connection has worked as it should. Not quite sure why, bit, I'm happy!

    Thank you.

  • NV + is not refreshing ip by dhcp address

I have a readynas nv + (v2 I think?) who has been working great. It is configured to obtain the address of the dhcp server. He already had an address of 192.168.1.144.

I recently replaced my router wireless with another, but the new router is configured exactly the same. All devices, both wireless and wired are a k upward and the race except the readynas. After reconnecting, it just shows an address of 192.168.168.168 on the front panel. I stop, unplugged and replugged Ethernet cable, changed cables, connected directly to the router instead of the switch that everything is attached. But he will not try and get a new address or even use the old one.

So, what can I do? I'm OK with the reset if it would kickstart the dhcp. But I don't want to lose all data. Why is not reconnected the network cable work? It does not say it's refreshing ip address, but then comes back with default. I don't want to monkey with connect a pc directly to it or if that can be avoided.

    Thanks for any help!

I'm so glad you have identified what is happening. Network connections simply one device between the NAS and the router either to the Uncable must be broken so that there problems.

  • R7000 can't access admin page and IP DHCP address range changed on its own

I noticed recently that my IP range internal from 192.168.1. * to 10.0.1 on its own. I think I got the router configured to auto update to new firmware, so I think that it updated itself and change its settings. When I try to access the admin page that nothing loads. I tried 10.0.1.1 and 192.168.1.1 and nothing comes up. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem recently. I will be eventually provided to the factory settings and set it back up like that, but I'm hoping to exhaust my options before you go this route. Any ideas?

I was able to determine the cause. He I warned when you say IP changes when there is a second device with DHCP. I noticed there was some new computers on my network when I watched the network file share. I use the Netgear Powerline device to do wired connections to my living room. What I think has happened is that my recently developed neighbouring apartment unit in place the internet and also uses a feature of current line. I noticed that my DNS suffix changed to a different address, which is the ISP instead of my router. I put 2 and 2 together and realized that my network was overlaps sound via the Powerline. I have never set up an encryption key on the Powerline online so it was still using the default settings and connecting to my neighbors by current carrier. When I added the encryption key, the problem disappeared and my network returned to normal. Next time I should follow the instructions when setting up new network equipment. Oops

    Hi all

I found the cause of the issue, it is a bad combination of (old) driver NI DAQ and my camera.

I checked the compatibility of the driver and the device and discovered that I have a different driver from the old series of boards that for the University, we bought and missed me the cd drivers (who disappeared

I downloaded the new driver NIDAQ1400f1 (or something like that).

    Now it's working.

Thank you all for your answers.

@Valkoa: thanks for the reply unfortunately the camera isn't apperaing anywhere despite his success my router of a lease

  • LRT214 and win 8 can't get IP through DHCP-server (built in)

    Hello!

    I just bought a LRT214.

    The configuration is PSI - modem-> Linksys LRT214 - > switch (D-link) > AP (Ubiquity + Netgear)

The goal was to replace the current-Netgear router that breaks down frequently.

    My problem is the following:

-All former gear like Windows 7 and Vista computers (Yes, another one) works fine. Wired and Wifi.

-All the Android phones and IPAD works great

-A Windows 8.1 machine works wired at least (not sure if Wifi works)

-2 machines acer with Win 8.1 will not get not a DHCP connection somehow (wireless or wired).

I just get the error 'limited connection' when you try to connect with WIFI or Ethernet.

When I look at IP-config I just get the "default" Win-IP-address he gives when not knowing what to do. West no gateway by default and when try / renew or release just expires... I also tried restarting several times, resetting routers, switches, etc. I also rolled back a step on one of the machines 8.1 to see if that helped.

I've noticed this directly, when you try to configure the router "autonomous". This wouldn't work for Acer/Win 8.1ut ok to a HP laptop with Win 7.

It s kinda weird that one of the machines 8.1 worked...

I ve tried a lot of things but eventually removed the LRT214 and replaced the things as before and everything started up without fault...

I ve really out of ideas. does anyone have an idea to test before returning it?

    Thank you! / Goran

Hello. After discussion of three hours with linksys, they do have no input. He came down for possibly that Acer had high security in a certain way. However, acer works with netgear... Very good don't support but sorry no solution. So I sent the router. Thanks anyway

  • Not getting the modem DHCP address WRT610n cable.

I bought the WRT610n about a month, and he works very well with the help of "connection type: Automatic Configuration - DHCP" until 3 days ago. He now does not (software wise) Internet connection. The Internet Blue representative icon lights up when I plug the ethernet cable, and the link on the cable modem light also lights up when I do the ethernet connection. I tried the power reset the cable modem and the router by pressing the reset button to return the router for the settings by default and swapped the ethernet cables. But whenever I look on the router status screen, I 0.0.0.0 for all entries of the intellectual property.  I press the buttons on the screen to "release IP address" and "renew IP address", but nothing helped. When I plug the same ethernet directly from the modem cable on my laptop, I get a DHCP assigned IP address and I am able to connect to the Internet. So, this leads me to believe that this isn't a problem of cable company/cable modem.  The revision of the firmware of the 610 is 1.00.00 B18 any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, because I have several devices that have been set up for their necessary updates on wireless Internet pass the 610 and are now dead in the water.

Problem solved! I read in another post about a link to correctly configure a Linksys router to a cable connection. I had to activate "clone mac address" to get the connection works. I don't know why it worked for a month with this option disabled. I remember last week, my Internet connection went down for about 24 hours, and when he returned to the top, I couldn't connect. But "clone mac address" is always disabled on the router 610. Maybe the cable operator had 'Authentication MAC' disabled and then enabled it the week after the blackout last? I also noticed that dynamic IP from the ISP range went from front 69.x.x.x 173.x.x.x failure later. It seems that the cable company (Cablevision of NYC) changed their addressing scheme and enabled MAC authentication in the process.

Here is the link to the instructions of cable modem:

  • WRT120N getting only no internet IP through DHCP

    Hello.

We have a computer playing the role of DHCP server in a network. receives a public IP address to a DSL modem.

There is a SF100D-16 switch connected to the network and the router is connected to it.

The range of IP addresses for the DHCP server starts at 192.168.2.121

I put the address of the router's local network at 192.168.2.200, but by connecting the internet port to the switch give anything else than 127.0.0.1

    What I'm missing here?

    Thanks in advance. -.

Edit: Sorry, getting into trouble with editing here.

I've already solved with the support of the conversation.

  • customers on flexconnect AP cannot get dhcp address after upgrade wlc

    Hi community support.

I have a WLC 2504, with 30 APs 1130 flexconnect mode. The WLC runs the code version 7.0.240.0. In order to register new models of ap, we need upgrade to a recent code.

In the last attempt to upgrade to version 7.4.121.0, the AP has joined the WLC, mappings of vlan in flexconnect have been checked and were very good. However, customers were unable to get an address DHCP (169.254.x.x). The DHCP server is local to each location, is usually a 3750 x that serves as a master switch.

connection via cable, clients received address dhcp. so the dhcp server isn't the problem. Updated for the 7.6.100.0 code, but got the same behavior.

Finally, we decided to downgrade the wlc code 7.0.240.0 once again, and everything started working again, but I need upgrade we buy access to new models of points.

Someone else had a similar problem?

    Hello

What is the vlan native you are using? If it's the number of vlan 2, then it is known bug CSCui73764

    Symptom:

Flex series APs 1130 & 1240 mode, won't see traffic, for example, DHCP, ARP. on some wireless LANs.

    Conditions:
    (1) flex connect local switching
    (2) AP 1240 or 1130
    (3) any version before 7.4.121.7
    (4) native vlan x, not work y vlan.
    (5) failed to get the ip address of the user.

    Workaround solution:
change the vlan native to a surprisingly high number, so no wlan will never be are mapped to a very high bridge group number.

    Other Description of the problem:
Telnet on the flex AP. here is an example. VLAN 3 is the vlan native Flex ap, it is correctly mapped to group 1. now WiFi is not working is the one that is mapped to vlan2. below, carefully, the vlan 2 is mapped to fill the 3 group. It is the forum where we hit the bug. Therefore, it can be any combination of wlan-vlan-native vlan.
