Handset to reload blackBerry Smartphones

Hello

I have a unlocked blackberry pearl 8100 from T-Mobile.  I use it currently on the network at & t.  What would be the right way to remove the tmobile software and install the software at & t?

Thank you for any assistance.

The last ATT model 8100 OS version is 4.5.0.110 version.

It is located here to download:

https://www.BlackBerry.com/downloads/entry.do?code=577BCC914F9E55D5E4E4F82F9F00E7D4

(Note that the linked site is today quite slow and give me many timeout errors, BUT the link is correct).

Follow these instructions:

1 download the BONES above files to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file. (Vista users make sure to right click on the .exe file, and select 'Run as administrator'.)
2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the amount of data you need to back up and restore during the process. Once he did load the new OS, it will reboot (it may do it twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with a hourglass up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for any reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply reconnect to the PC and run Loader.exe again and it should load the operating system on the device.

Now, all that being said... 4.5.0.124 is the LAST OS for the 8100 device, but if you do want the ATT version... here you go.

  • Issues with my Blackberry 8520 after reload blackBerry Smartphones

Hello.  I'm new to this community, but have already found a wealth of information.  Thank you!  I got a Blackberry Curve 8520 during about 6 months without problem.  Last week, after you download an app and restart, I got an error message (Error 502 reloading software).  I came across this site and found the instructions on reloading the operating system via the Desktop Manager.  I did this and then reloaded a backup I had (from January - so teaches me to save more often!).  It seemed to work ok, except that my apps and other things disappeared.  But, at least, it worked.  While it still works, it has some quirks I've noticed - things he used to realize that it is no more.  They are:

    (1) the red light used to blink when I received a text message or email.  Now it flashes only when I receive a text message.  I checked the settings I know and all say led display is turned on.  Any ideas?

    (2) when I delete messages, I used to get a prompt asking if I want to delete the message (if an e-mail message) on your handheld or handheld and mailbox.  I no longer get this message - just the ability to remove or cancel.  I checked the settings and "invited" on the delete option.  Any other ideas?

    (3) I receive emails ok.  But, when I hit the reply in the message, it will not give me an option to send - only the ability to save the project.  Now, when I compose an email from scratch, it sends okay.  Any ideas?

Thank you very much to anyone who can help me!  There seems to be some settings that have been changed in some way that I don't know of!  Thanks again.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come):

    (1) registry HRT

    • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > (it matter little what line is current) > sign up now

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then come back and report the results of the above three items exactly as well as any symptoms which changed in their behavior.

    See you soon!

Search and download your OS and everything above applies

    By sdgardne

    However, here's what I propose...

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find complete instructions via the link in my sig auto below. (It's probably debatable given the errors you have... it is likely that your data are already parts of your device, which means that you must now rely on a backup you took before that happened.)

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

If I select answer or forward, it opens the E-mail project but then the email app is closed completely and I'm suddenly brought to my home screen.

    What I've tried so far:

-Turning device and turn it on again

-removal and setting up my email account once again

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    Hello!

Based on your description, I would recommend a full reload of the operating system. The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

Note that all the apps add-on indeed went from the device... a WIPE is very obedient and removes the add-on apps. Reference:

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

    (6) work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of step 6, your BB presents "507" error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.
