hard drive 3 TB hdwc130ak3j1 dismantling itself

Hi, I have a hdwc130ak3j1 of 3 TB external hard drive which I use for backup. It rises from the United Nations itself during backups longer for reasons that I don't understand. Say, it will run for an hour and then mounted in the middle of a backup. This is obviously embarrassing. I wonder if there is a firmware update available? do a search using 'hdwc130ak3j1' on the toshiba support site translates into nothing, as if such a hard drive never existed.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a similar problem, and I noticed that using a USB2 cable is most cases.

I'm still waiting for an answer why.

  • Qosmio G50 - 13R - add second HARD drive

    Hello

I want to upgrade my computer.
    Here are the numbers:

    Product name: Qosmio G50 - 13R
    Product version: PQG55E-05C04RFR
    Product series number: 89063721H

I have space for a second hard drive, but it is empty.
    No caddy, no connector.
But the Intel Rapid Storage detects an empty 4 internal port.

How to check what is the port?

I did some research and found a document on the substantive content of my computer. It says there is a connector on the motherboard for a second hard drive, here are a few references in the document:

CN1920 2nd SATA HDD (20 PIN) interface connector

Is that the motherboard of my computer (see reference above) has the CN1920 connector?
    How verified?

    Greetings.

There is a 2nd HDD bay because in the past, the Qosmio G50 is out with support for different hardware specifications and different hardware parts and obviously 2nd HARD drive Bay does not the HARD drive cable/connectors.

The Intel ICH9M South Bridge supports 4 integrated controllers serial ATA Host, so the chipset should be able to handle 4 devices SATA (2 x HDD, 1 x ODD, 1 x eSATA).

I searched on the internet a bit and discovered that the motherboard supports two controllers/connectors.
The first HARD drive must be connected to the CN1900 connector SATA (23pin) and the 2nd HARD drive must be connected to the CN1920 (20pin). The STRANGE is connected to CN1910 (13pin)

However, I think that it will not be very easy to update this unit with a 2nd HARD drive all must be dismantled and of course, you need compatible parts for these updates.

  • HP 15-d005TU Notebook PC: upgrade HARD drive internal for laptop

The internal HHD is short on free space and I need to replace it with a larger one. The existing one is 500 GB, SATA and 5400 RPM.

What should I look for when you buy a new?

Any internal HARD disk will be suitable and compatible or am I looking for something specific?

Any internal hard drive 2 TB will be suitable and compatible?

Since the existing one is using a 5400 RPM, one, can I use one with 7200 RPM? There will be compatibility and or overheating problems?

    Thanks for your reply.

I don't think not laptop 2 TB drives are made with the rotation speed of 7200 RPM. They are all 5400. 7200 TPM is larger than 1 TB. But, to answer your question directly, you can use any 2.5 inch wide and 7mm or 9.5 mm thick hard drive SATA or SSD on the market. The physical dimensions of each of them are the same, that is the industry standard interchangeable. No compatibility or heating problems.

  • BIOS pass no HARD drive itself.

The computer is HP Pavilion p6-2133w. Product # QW728AA #ABA. Windows 7 32 bit. No changes have been made. It started about two weeks ago. After the shut down and restart the BIOS changed the HARD drive for people with reduced mobility. Computer would not boot, just a black screen with a blinking cursor. Stop and restart I have to go to the cmos to change the rear of the active HARD drive and the computer will boot into Windows. I've never seen a BIOS itself by itself before changing. Does anyone have any ideas?

Well boys and girls the initial problem of this computer by disabling the HARD drive seems to have been caused by a person changing modem wired to wireless modem without shutting down the computer first or change of wireless modem to the cable modem without shutting down the computer first. So far no one no occurrence of this problem given that the situation described above has been addressed. Thanks for your contribution and your help. I'll tell you that this problem has been resolved.

I'm not the person who started the thread to which you gave this advice, but I share the same problem.  My hard drive seems to be fill by itself.  I have scanned for viruses (McAfee) and malicious software (Spybot S & D) and there is none.  It seems that after 10 to 20 GB of space to clear, within days he is new.  I look in the current process and I have no idea what these things are.

I have Windows 7 (SP1) Home edition Premium 64 bit running on a desktop computer HP p6270z with an Athlon II x 4 620 processor, 2.6 GHz, I bought in 2007.

  • External hard drive keeps restarting by itself!

    Hello

I have an iomega RPHD - U 250 GB hard drive plugged into my pc and I keep it this way because I need to work on organizing my files. However, it keeps restarting itself as a minute after that I opened the case, whenever I plug in my charger (has something to do with the charger?) or at random times. It's really annoying and I have no idea why this is happening. How can I solve this problem and how to avoid that this happens in the future?

Ah.  Well that seems to me something of the chain is a failure.  The drive itself, the cable, connector, it is plugged into USB port or something on the motherboard.  I start to exchange of components or entrust it to another computer and see if it happens there.

If not, try another drive on the computer of 'problem' and see if it works.

Both of these can narrow down what is causing the problem. But you can also try a clean boot of the computer too. See How to perform a boot in Windows, allowing to tell if it's a software problem on the computer that is really the cause.

  • Drive external HARD Toshiba PH3064U-1EXB turns off itself

I have an external hard drive PH3064U-1EXB, that it will stop auto when you use it.
It will also and when I go to retrieve a file he then will power off.
But it can be used for an hour because I'll be working files and or pulling them consistently and for no reason, it will fit into the deep.

    Can someone help me please...

Honestly, the power button seems to be sub par and maybe that is the issue BUT there is no rhyme or reason to the power down.

    Thank you in advance.

    > I just received delivery of the external hard drive. Unfortunately, the power supply provided is incorrect - 5 volt
In your case I would recommend you contact the dealer and for this clear with the dealer, you should get a new HARD drive with the right diet!

  • My external hard drive has changed its Mac format to NTFS by itself. If anyone else has experienced this?

I would post screenshots, but I'm currently back up backup (lol) my hard drive to another drive so I can reformat the drive. Anyway, today I plugged my Toshiba Caniva 1 TB external to some organization. I went to delete something (Cmd + delete) and nothing happened. So, I tried to drag and drop it into the basket and received a message saying that the file cannot be removed. It's weird, I thought. So, I open disk utility and discover that my external hard drive has decided to change to NTFS on its own. I tried to eject and reconnect it - that did not work. I tried to restart - which did not work. I thought that my USB hub could be a problem - nope. The only things that have changed since I last used my outside is that I changed the battery in my MacBook, put in an SSD and upgraded to El Capitan. I don't see how one of these could cause this but I thought I would mention it. Anyone who has something similar happens? Thank you.

The reader not to not reformat in NTFS. If the disk has been reformatted would vanish all your data. I suspect that before you upgrade to El Capitan you ran a third party app that would allow you to use NTFS formatted disk. Once you upgrade to El Capitan the app is no longer compatible with your new operating system. You must download and install an upgraded version of your application that supports El Capitan. Or, you can copy all data from the disk and reformat then for your Mac.

  • hard drive fill by itself

I just bought a hp a6750f with 750 GB HDD 8 GB memory, quad processor works great, but it fills slowly with stuff 2 or 3 concerts a day, I think it's to get it online, CV Tech took control and just delete the temporary files, that is not the problem... I restored to factory settings and now 3 weeks later there are 120 exhausted concerts... I have nothing except a printer on this computer whence all this?  Help, please...

Probably that Vista in system restore, is set to use a very high % of hard drive space. Most users to be able to limit it manually.

  • External hard drive presents itself as a device to sync in Media Player 12

    Hello

Recently, I did a clean install of Windows 8 and have the latest version of Windows Media Player (WMP 12).  I have an external hard drive connected to my system, and whenever I start Windows Media Player, he thinks that the external hard drive is a device synchronization.  WMP then begins a sweep of all media on the external hard drive.  I don't want my external hard drive to be considered as a timing device.  How can I remove and prevent the recital as a device to sync in WMP 12?

    Thank you.

This issue was really driving me crazy because I didn't want everyone watching one of my files in WMP.  It is supposed to be an option for 'The End sync partnership', but only, I was able to select this option once and cannot figure out how to get this prompt again.  It is always grayed out.

Here is the workaround I found.

    1. open the Control Panel.

    2. click on the hardware and sound category.

    3. under devices and printers, click Device Manager.

    4. click on portable.

5 right click on the "device" if it is not listed under there.

    6. Select disable.

This removed the device from Windows Media Player to me.  I tried to uninstall it completely, but it showed just to the top once I restarted the PC.  Should not reappear unless you Activate it.

I hope this helps.   If someone finds another way to remove it, please share.

    Thank you.

  • Satellite M30-604 - mechanical hard drive failure

My satellite M30 604 is guaranteed (bought 10 months ago) and my Hitachi travelstar hard drive crashed unexpectedly. The accident is probably mechanical, so I can't use data recovery software (makes things worse). The only way to get my data is to give the HD a specialist who will open in a 'white room' for something like 300-600 Euros (!) and try to recover as much as possible. Now:

-> Toshiba said that if I do that, the guarantee is void and I will also have to pay for a new disk (100 euros)

-> If I want to replace the disk (warranty) then toshiba Gets the old drive and I lose my data forever!

    WAIT A MINUTE GUYS!

    (a) it's my data, my work and you CAN'T make me blackmailing you with such things 'warranty void. I want my old crushed drive back! I want to try to recover as much as I can! my 10 hour work - someday is here!

    (b) Moreover even if the heads of the drive crashed, my PERSONAL, PRIVATE data are always in the disk and CAN be read with special techniques. How toshiba (or any other company for that matter) asking me to give it to them?

    What should I do?
    What would you do?

    Hello
I sympathize with your problem and can suggest only the following reflections:

    1. the recovery of your data seems the most important factor here. I suggest you to remove the HARD drive so that it can be sent to a specialist to retrieve data are possible.

    2. Since the removal of the disc HARD not not usually involves a broad dismantling of Notepad it should not invalidate the remaining warranty (other than on the HARD drive itself).

3 replacement HARD drive can generally be obtained quite a beneficial one of internet sellers price (check using GOOGLE to a suitable replacement). You can then reinstall your OS recovery CD.

    4. I suggest investing in a bunch of backup software (such as Norton Ghost) to avoid this problem in the future. (I had four replacement hard drives on my Satellite A30 in the past 12 months).

  • Can I use time capsule as external hard drive?

Can I use time capsule as external hard drive so that I can access a file or a specific folder by searching for its name?

A TC is now and for always player network... no external. So there are limits to its use.

If you are multitasking your TC with Time Machine and then using a DMG file as a virtual drive is better than directly copy files... However sharing becomes impossible. One person at a time can open the DMG.

    See pondini. T3 http://pondini.org/TM/Time_Capsule.html

Old but still interesting to read.

You can certainly create a folder on the TC and copy your files on it, and then perform a search. Research is slow on wireless is so the speed of transfer of large files. With the help of ethernet is certainly encouraged to desktop computers.

Sharing folders on the TC is also now more difficult with increasing security at El Capo and OS later. You do not create on the computer records are not available. And even the ones you create can occasionally and autonomous change permissions (since the TC controls drive not the computer), you lock your own files on... I answer these questions once a week.

Not all software on Mac supports using network drives. The most difficult is photos that can corrupt the library due to disconnections... which are the most common wireless. Be warned backups are important and not easy to do because of the slowness of the USB port on the TC and you end up really need to another location on the network for backup on.

Generally, I advise the people not not to use the TC for direct files... That is to say, if you edit a document, make sure that it is on a local drive... When you have finished the document, you can copy it to the network drive and delete the local version. Easy for... not so easy documents for photos with major libraries.

A TC cannot save itself and Time Machine backup impossible network drives... This means that no backup will be your files in the TC, unless you take the initiative and do it.
