Hard Drive failed after replacement

My computer recently went for a drive hard repalcement of HP Support because it is still under warranty. After that their return receipt I'm gone and ran the same test that tells the hard drive failed the last time and received a fault code of

GGANWC-67H6K8-XD7X1F-60SF03

It looks like the last. Is this a Bios problem causing the hard drive give errors or is it another failed hard drive?

Hello TheProfitible,

You just had the HARD drive replaced and now you've found a similar mistake that he does not have.

The code checks that the HARD drive has failed.

You should call HP and have them replace the disc again and check the motherboard. It could be a problem with the motherboard failure.

Sorry to hear it happened.

Here is the link for the phone number for HP.

By clicking on the White Star congratulations on the left is a way of saying thanks!

I would like to know how everything goes.

Nice day.

  • Hard Drive failed after 1 month

    Hello

1st time post sorry if this isn't in the right section. I bought 2 hard drives at Amazon for my NAS box there is a little more than 1 month and 1 disc is now dead and the other shows errors, when you contact Amazon they advised that I need to go back to the manufacturer who sold them. Like Western Digital drives I had already checked their warranty on their site and they have said the same thing so that the State of the disks (Dell WD2003FYPS Western Digital 3.5 inch 2 TB of HDD SATA Raid Edition) these will be covered by Dell and if so, what would be the best method of contact for we hope to solve my problem.

All component computer purchased from a third party [Amazon] and not Dell is not covered by Dell warranty.

Sounds like a third-party vendor was selling hard drives Dell OEM, which is "Caveat Emptor"

  • Hard drive failed and I lost everything! and after 2 years, I bought the thing.

I have a laptop DV9815.  The hard drive failed after that I was rebooting it.  All I want is to talk to HP by Email.  Now is this hard to do since I can't find an email?  I need a replacement of the operating system because it says "no found bone."  I want to Wndows XP Professional instead of Wndows Vista Home Priemium.  I legally own a copy of Windows Vista, but I want to downgrade to XP, if I can without paying hundreds.

HP won't make you XP, you will need to buy it if you want.

  • Hard drive failed and I lost my product key?

    Hi guys,.

So my friends hard drive failed and unfortunetly he lost everything.

I replaced the broken hard drive for him and reinstalled Windows 10. However when I went to check if the OS has been activated, it showed as not been activated? I thought the machines after that Windows 8 had their licance saved in the BIOS, so we do not have this problem?

Also there is no sticker on the back or under the battery that contains the product key for Windows.

I also talked to Microsoft, but they were uable to help.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thank you.

It's a HP Pavilion 15-p264na. It came with Windows preinstalled as an OEM licance Home 8.1. It was then upgraded to Windows 10 at a later date using the free update successfully.

Then the second option mentioned above. Didn't it actually triggered successfully after 10 win upgraded?

If so, you should be able to activate just fine without problems, IF you use the same edition of Windows. You write it housed 8.1 - you now install Win 10 Home? You mentioned 10 Pro down...

So I guess I'll with your third option and using the recovery media?

I have 2 HP drives here for Windows 10 Pro for two different HP devices. I think these are the recovery CD, it says that they cotain the client software, if that is correct? Can I use these discs Pro on a BONE at home? Or that I'd be better by following the links you provided?

Laughing out loud. I'm sorry. I am afraid that you cannot mix just DVD / CD / etc - they are for a specific model for the specific version of Win / edition. You cannot use a recovery media for HP computer to another - it will simply not work 99% of the time. You cannot mix editions of Windows (the House is for Home, Pro goes to Pro).  You want the recovery media for this unit, you need to follow the links.

However, IF you have enabled the upgrade of Windows 10 post fine, you can simply download Win 10 ISO from here:

    > > https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/

Download the tool, it will download an ISO and burn it to a DVD or write on a USB key. Follow the on-screen instructions, skip entered the key and move on. After installation, Windows 10 HOME should activate fine using digital entitlement if 8.1 Home Win allowed initially.

I would like to know how this goes for you.

  • HP Pavilion G6 HARD drive failed

    Hello

First of all thank you for help out me.

I searched the forums for how to do this, but for my situation, I can't find an answer. I'm ok with the technology, but by no means a tech guru... Here's what I've done so far:

    History:

My sister gave me her cell phone on the weekend and said that he cannot start Windows 8. So I tried a lot of things so he can start and have failed. I tested the hard drive and it says that there are errors on this subject. I tried to use a Ubuntu Livecd to capture data off and have problems, but I'll be able to get most of it.

    Problem:

I need to replace the hard drive and she never made the recovery discs. What is my best course of action at this point?

    1. Can I reproduce the hard drive failed on a new and hope the recovery partition intact? Restore from that?
    2. Can I install from disc OEM of Windows 8? I don't think I can...
    3. Can I get the key of Windows 8 from the BIOS somehow or I'll have to grab something like belarc to and hope that I can enter the key of the HDD failure?

Any other suggestions on how to do it? I rather just use an OEM drive with his key and install from scratch, but I need the key and I don't know if it will work?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement of the recovery media using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

    2. If the laptop is originally shipped with Windows 8, the activation key is stored in the Bios Chip and is read automatically during installation, so you could create your own OEM of Windows 8 install disc.

For more information on how to proceed, see the post by Hüffer 3rd on the following link - Note: there is a cap of this Image file download you may need to try over a period of a few hours before the download starts correctly.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/need-product-key/m-p/2592099/highlight/false#M96668

With regard to creation of installation media for this file, here are some options.

If you want to create an installation disc, use an application like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings)- hereis a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc.

If you need a utility to create a flashdrive bootable for this Image, try the free app below.

  • XPS 420 - HARD drive failed, performing a clean install of Vista on the new HARD drive.

    Hey everybody,

My on my XPS 420 HARD drive failed and I'm trying to reinstall Vista using the disc that came with my machine back when I bought it.

I bought a new WD10EZEXAZ (1 TB Serial ATA HDD), he rose in the same dwelling as my old HDD (ST3750630AS * Barracuda 7200.11*). I start the PC and goto Setup, it recognizes the HARD drive in the blue menu.

Then I boot with the CD of Vista that came with my system. I proceed as indicated through the following url:

    Clean install of Vista

After its copied files, expanded the files, installed features, updates installed... it goes to "Complete Installation" and throws an error message: "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

I tried a few things I've seen posted on the internet, including trying to run msoobe.exe via command line. When I did, it allows me to Setup user... but finally I get sent to this message of error or another telling me I have to reinstall Windows.

I read else where some hard disks may not compatible with the Dell disk provides with my OEM machine. If this is the case, can someone advise? I really didn't want to spend $100 one another on a Windows 7 disc, but I feel like this may be my only option... but even in this case, I'm not so sure this will work or the other.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Tony

    UPDATE *.
Did some more research, I discovered my new drive HARD is an advanced HDD format... not sure if it has nothing to do with my problems (by www.wdc.com/advformat Vista should not need to perform the work before the OS being installed), but thought I would mention it.

    Thanks again for any help.

    ****************

Seems that I found the solution to my problem.

Problem has been fixed by going into the BIOS and change the Mode of Port SATA to IDE/native/AHCI native. After that, the installation worked without any problems. Seems that Windows Setup did not like the port mode is set to RAID.

Just thought I would post back everybody incase has had the same problem.

  • Portege M200 - the hard drive failed

My 60 GB Toshiba hard drive failed in my Portege M200.

I tried mounting a hard drive, I had in my old laptop, a 30 GB Hitachi hard drive but the laptop doesn't seem to recognize it. Does need a Toshiba hard drive or is the laptop died, when I put the hard drive in I get message invalid startup disk.

The old hard drive goes to a blue screen then restart the laptop.

No there not Toshiba HDD only. I found the list of some compatible hard drives for this old Portege.
You can use follow hard drives:
    -TOSHIBA HDD2193B
    -TOSHIBA HDD2171B
    -TOSHIBA HDD2184B
    -TOSHIBA HDD2194B
    -HITACHI G8BC00014410
    -HITACHI G8BC00014610
    -HITACHI G8BC00015610
    -HITACHI G8BC00014810

Anyway, when you try to use new BIOS to check updated HARD drive and if default settings the new HARD drive will be recognized correctly in the BIOS settings.

Old HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?
Have you tried to install the OS by using old HDD?

  • Well hard drives as a replacement for Satellite Pro L300-1 b 9 unit?

    Dear users of the Forum,

The original HDD in my notebook has reached its life cycle, so I have to replace it.

I would like to know what purchasable HARD drive units are available for this particular laptop model?

Can I use any SATA 2.5 "portable HARD drive as a replacement disk or the Toshiba marked those are suitable exclusively?

    > Could I use any SATA 2.5 "portable HARD drive as a replacement disk or the Toshiba marked those are suitable exclusively?

Yes, usually all 2.5 SATA hard drives must be compatible, since the SATA controller is compatible and even if you want to use a SATA II or SATA III HARD drive, the laptop must be able to manage this device.
But of course, the performance would be limited to SATA I
