Hard drive full of temporary files

My laptop is a HP DV6.  Is there something that stores temporary internet files that cannot be cleaned with the cleaning disc.   With the help of "windirstat" I narrowed down it to a folder, the users/NAME/AppData/local/microsoft/windows/temporaryinternetfiles/bass/conctent. IE5/OGS5KALU I can't click any more specific on windirstats because it always freezes and fails to answer more.  I does not find the file manually by clicking on the files.  It has more than 60 GB of data that is"not there."  The only thing keeping saving more, is that I'm completely out of the storage room.  I can't browse the internet more far away because it cannot store and view data.  It is completely debilitating.  How to delete this and avoid that my computer to save and fill with more?  Help, please.

Hello

Download and install ccleaner on the link below.

http://www.Piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard

Run the program and see if it will remove these temporary files.  Then, in the Start Menu, open windows control panel and open Internet Options.  On the general tab, click the settings button in the browsing history section.  In the next window, set the disk space of 50 MB and click Ok and then click on apply in the previous window.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes

Hi Wally, the hard disk OS X and all of your files. Get a case for your reader, and it backs up. Try OWC

Always keep your Mac backed up on an external drive with Time Machine or utility of cloning like SuperDuperor double clone.

    Try eBay for the adapter.

  • should I trust to clean your hard drive with all the files listed?

I'm working through Windows Vista, step by step manual. I have a question on system and maintenance > administrative tools > free space disk (also called "Disk Cleanup").

I want to clean my hard drive to free up space and improve performance by using this feature.

I'm in the box to answer when you check in the files, that you need more, or not deleted on a conclusion of programs.

in any case, I want to check a box for "temporary files" that amount to 8 gigabytes of memory.

How do you know if it is safe to do so?

could I be delete something important?

I would just leave it be?

I looked at windows vista help on this, and he said that you can safely delete temporary files that have not been modified in over a week.

However, I see no list of dates in the box diologe/check page.

    any ideas anyone?

Yes you can trust disk cleanup to safely remove your files, otherwise the option is not there.

Confusion between Yes! but it removes only the files that have not been modified in over a week.

Your computer will run faster and better especially with 8 GB free.

You can manually delete these files if you wish and also see and choose only those that you want to remove.

To do this: open the box run by pressing the Windows Logo key and the R key.

Type: folder and OK or enter.

You can sort by update for a better choice.

To do this: click view on the menu, point on group BY and click Update, if the descendant is not chosen to go back and click on it.

Alternatively, you can delete the temporary files that way:

Open race box, type: temp, OK, you can delete everything, and if windows needs some we won't let you delete those he needs.

Open, run, and type: recent, you can remove all if you like or keep those you want to if you use recent items on the start menu.

  • How to do the second hard drive as main hard drive and move the files to the first hard drive to the second.

Original title: How to I can't remove my 1st hard drive program files?

Basically, I got a new laptop for games with Windows 7 on it, and I know almost nothing about computers. So it all starts on my SSD (180 GB) and I want to move to my 2nd hard drive (750 GB) HHD. I want to keep windows and steam (platform game) on my SSD and move almost everything on my other hard drive.  When I move everything on it works, but when I try and do a right-click and delete the programs or program filex (x 86) it says I don't have permission. So I give myself permission and ownership of the program files, but it does not work. I tried to remove anything that did not come on the computer and what I just said try again, but it still does not work.  I have tried myself giving full ownership of readers, but it still does not work. He always tells me that I need permission from myself. Is any way for me to have my computer recognizes the HHD as the primary drive, and then I can move Windows and Steam my SSD? And all that would remove? (If yes let me know if I can put the drivers I have on a flash, so they are removed). Any help or advice would be great! Thanks for reading and you're time and effort!)

    P. S.
Do not forget that I know little to nothing about computers, so just assume I know nothing and give me instructions step by step, if it is possible.
    May peace be with you,
    Alex

Basically, you can not, you need to uninstall the programs, then custom Setup to the location/reader of your choice, even in this case a lot of files will always be located on your windows disk.

When you install a program many entries are written to the registry, if you try to move a program, if you can, the registry entries will be incorrect then the program will stop working.

  • Permutation of my HARD drive SSD, need a file ISO in Windows 8

    Hi all

First of all, sorry for the long story, I want to clarify.
I use a laptop ASUS ROG G750, came with preinstalled Windows 8. I've updated to windows 8.1 blue as it was released.
I am facing the load always full HARD drive problems constantly, tried several solutions but not worked so far (the parameters of maintenance, defragmentation...). Some have said probably the cause comes from the windows installation, the establishment did not leave 350MB partition C:... I have no idea, and all other stations have no training. This should be the last of them, as other people who buy the same laptop got a 30% rate to have this problem.
I want to move to a SSD, I got a Plextor M5S 128 G.  Now the new problem arises... I don't know how to start.
    1. I would like to install Windows 8.1 directly, but I think that my laptop have windows 8, and it wouldn't work like that.
    2. I don't have a Windows 8 or 8.1 version OEM to install, I tried an ISO from the site of microsoft retailer, but it requires a key retailer...
So it would be great and awesome if someone can tell me anywhere who can make me an official ISO file, Windows 8 legitimate. There are a lot of windows 8 / 8.1 preactivated out there to get it, but above all they are Pro or enterprise... version I don't want to use a cracked version of Windows, as I don't have a product key, why would I?
    -----------------
UPDATE: Im download an OEM of Windows 8 version from an unreliable source, it mentions that if my laptop has Slic 3.0, it would automatically add the product key from the Bios...
    If it works?
    -----------------
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

    That's what you do:

    If you're running Windows 8:

    Press Windows + W

    Type: create the recovery disk

    Press enter

Insert a USB stick 8 GB or more space

Click next and follow the instructions on the screen

If you are running Windows 8.1:

    Press Windows + S

    Type: create the recovery disk

    Press enter

Insert a USB stick 8 GB or more space

Click next and follow the instructions on the screen

Connect the recovery drive and the start of it.

When booting from the recovery of Windows 8 disk (USB drive or optical disk); the Windows logo is displayed on a black screen for a few moments; in the background, the computer actually starts in the environment of Windows Recovery (called simply, Windows RE).
Windows RE is based on Windows PE (Windows Preinstallation Environment)

How Windows RE works, once a prompt asking the user to choose a keyboard layout; for example, we could choose available United States. However, if the layout you want do not appear; then, select,
    See more keyboards.
(There is a total of 16 pages of keyboard layouts, arranged in alphabetical order).

This next screen allows three important options:

Click the Troubleshootingoption: it's the refresh option. Reset the computer; or, use the advanced disk recovery tools.

Click the Reset the PCoption: this option will reset the PC and at the same time, remove all the files.
Windows RE will find and save all data, settings, and applications; It will then install a fresh copy of Windows and restore all data, applications and settings.
When the PC is restarted. Connect with the existing username and password and it will find all the installed data.

However, desktop applications that have been installed will not be backed up or restored. the reasoning is that it is possible that a recently installed desktop application might be the cause of instability.
Windows RE will create a list of applications that were not backed up or restored, so that a decision can be taken, if it need to reinstall them.
  • External hard drive with Windows NT File System (NTFS) Format

I bought an external hard drive Samsung M3 about a year (1 to). I used a lot for about 3 months on my mac and then left it stored until I need it again. I then tried to use it today and for some reason, the format converted to Windows NT (NTFS) file system. Looking at other forums, the only way to change what has been suggested is to erase and format it in NTFS for Mac. However, I have 500 GB of data on what I don't want to erase. Does anyone have any suggestions, or any reason that the format has changed all of a sudden, do my hard drive now ReadOnly cannot think?

    1. the format has not changed

    2. There is no such format NTFS for Mac

Would you like to start your story please?

  • external hard drive backup restore, .swm files

I used the backup feature of my Pavilion g7 to make a backup to a hard drive external.  Then I restored the computer to the original factory State.  When I try to restore the backup, I go to the external drive, open the backup folder where the .swm files are stored and click on restore.  It then passes through what seems to ba a restore process (I can see my files on it as it loads) for about 30 minutes.  Subsequently, there is a folder on the desktop named "system recovery files", and I can't do anything with. In the meantime, none of my old files on the computer.  Very strange. have not seen another thread that looks at this issue.  Can not know what does the restore process and where my files are going, if anywhere.

    Thank you!

    joegus2013 wrote:
I would add that the disk external drive, the file restore.exe has a date of 2010 on it while the .swm files have a date of 2013. Strange, as in other posts of reading, it seems all the files created in this backup must have the same date.

    Hello

2010 is the date for the program, it won't change, but files of stormwater management are not the same unless they have the same point of restoration/time. Just run like s Adminitrator restore.exe (right click and run as administrator) and must restore it for you filws.

  • External hard drive creates folders and files and lose the music I synced to it.

I've been struggling with my 8 GB Clip +, which is the same thing my old 4 GB Clip + has. It creates files SID and incorporate in the album folders. Renamed it with records of the characters of 8 or 9 (alpha and digital) at the beginning of the file name, and some of the music I download does not exist when I disconnect the player and it refreshes. It does this for MP3 AND WMA files, if I use Media Player or Windows Explorer.

I loaded all my WMA files on the internal hard disk (that works absolutely perfect), responsible for MP3s ONLY on the external hard drive and got the same result. The external hard drive has been reformatted, there is no debris of what anyone to spoil things. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

So after spending most of my Sunday with my 8 GB Clip + and its 8GB external drive, I found that the problems mentioned previously disappear if opt you for USB mode MSC. I was then able to transfer MP3 and WMA using Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer. I even got to explore open and hung out and deposited the files in window Media Player sync. Very Cool! Also, when I tried to copy something that she already had, he said that the case was already transferred. Amazing! In the past, it should continue to record the same.

Although I must say that a WMA file problem: some of the music files were not correctly identified and is not 'stick' to the albums they came from. But a search for individual songs revealed they were always there, even if the Sansa could not "identify the album they belong to.

I hope this helps others. At the end of the day, my advice is: If you have an external drive, the USB MSC mode, and you won't have any major problems - just a few small, boring ones.

And thanks for the two of you who responded to my original post. Yes, the player has been on auto-detection mode - not good.
