    Hello ShawnKohl,

We can also try to go back to a time where he worked with system restore.

Once this has been done, check the hat of Windows updates are available and hide the audio driver updates that are available.

    System Restore:

    Windows XP - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084

    Windows Vista/7 - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore

Please note that in addition to that, the advice of the previous poster remains true: we want to get the latest audio driver on the system of the manufacturer.

  • hardware changes may not have been detected

    Hello

I have an acer aspire laptop with win7 ultimate. recently, I could not use my usb ports and everything I plug could not be recognized.

I installed Microsoft fix Center and the problem was solved. the usb driver is then downloaded and installed.

same thing happened when I pluged in my mouse wireless usb, USB drive, external hard drive, printer, etc... I had to run the fix for windows download and install devices but it is this question on the "material changes could not have been detected.

I remember that this process has been done automatically before each time that a device has been unplugged.

I would like to know how to restore the default auto detect/download/install for any device that is plugged in.

    Hi nicolefraley,

We recommend you to perform the Startup Repair and check the result. You can also try the following:
    a. access prompt command in the Windows recovery environment (WinRE). (See my previous post to learn how to access WinRE).
    b. type the following command and press ENTER.
    Bootrec /FixMbr
    Bootrec /RebuildBcd
    c. restart the computer and check the result.

  • Error when you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.

    Windows XP SP3 problem

Recently, I met a problem with my PC and was forced to use the system recovery. Now I'm back to factory settings and try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3 on my computer. Windows Update won't work for me, that whenever I try to update I get [error number: 0x8024400A]. I think it's because I use Service Pack 2, or that's what I concluded after researching the problem, anyway.

This is not my real concern, however. Because I could not get the update automatically, I tried to download and install the "Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT professionals and developers" myself. The first time I did it, I restarted the PC after the installation and was met with "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. "  I went into safe mode and went to a just system restore point before SP3 was installed, but now I don't know how to install it correctly without encountering this problem after reboot. I'm hardly the easy just stick with SP2 when there are potentially important available updates. How can I get Windows Service Pack 3 is installed on my PC?

    It's certainly interesting!

If the cause of your problem is to have a HP PC with an AMD processor and an original image on your hard drive (and of course it sounds like this is the case), the solution should be to rename the file intelppm.sys and launch the sp37394.exe patch. Once done, the SP3 file that you downloaded from here:
    SHOULD work!
I'm puzzled why there is no intelppm.sys file in your directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers.
Since you recently returned to square one with your PC ("return to factory settings"), then you may as well run the patch from this page:
and try the SP3 Setup file again.
But, first, let's be absolutely sure that we are both using the same terminology. Please answer the following questions:
    1. have you safely backed up ALL your data?
    2. what method did you use to ride "back to factory settings? I think that your choices have been a destructive restore (full) and a (partial) non-destructive recovery. The first erases the disk and leave you with a pristine image and NOTHING ELSE (which means that all of your programs and data get deleted). The other (which does not always correctly) is supposed to leave programs and data intact.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this

My pc does not have a hard drive. I can't restart in any mode.

    Hello

    · What is the number and the model of the computer?

    · Do you remember all the recent changes on the computer before the show?

    · What is the service pack installed on the computer?

    · What options have tried advanced startup options?

Remove all external devices such as printers and scanners connected to the computer and then try to start.

As you mentioned you don't have a CD/DVD drive on the computer and you are not able to boot in any mode, there are only two options:

    a. you will need to connect external CD/DVD drive to the computer for further troubleshooting.

    b. you must contact the manufacturer of the computer.

    Hello ILO,.

    1. When you receive the error message?

    2. are you able to boot to the desktop?

    3. did you of recent changes on the computer?

  • Windows could not start. recent hardware or software change might cause this

Recently, I have reactivated my antivirus norton on my netbook. He told me that I needed to restart, when I went to shut down my computer, it says that there are 45 updates as necessary to update and do not turn off the computer, because after the updates, it turns off automatically, he did through the first 40 of 45 in about an hour and I finally had to go to the bed woke up he said 40 of the 45 updated installation... then my computer is dead. When I went to turn it on I got the black screen that says: cannot start Windows and a recent hardware or software change might have caused this, and it gives all the boot options. ... safe mode safe mode with network etc. I tried to start windows with all the options. It goes to the windows start page and then click on return to the failure to open the page. What should I do?

    Hello littlal

If Windows does not start even in Safe Mode you will need an XP installation CD for this problem.  Borrow one if necessary to run this fix

    Then

Configure your PC to boot from the CD if it is not already configured in this way. You may need to enter the BIOS to configure the PC to boot from the CD.

    Set the boot order of

    floppy (if present)

    CD/DVD-ROM

    Hard drive

    RECORDING and EXIT

Start your PC with the XP installation CD in the drive. When you see the prompt «Press any key to boot from CD...» ", do and start the process to boot on CD.

When the Recovery Console option is available (press R to start the Recovery Console), do it. You may be asked to what Windows installation to enter, what kind of cases the number of the Windows installation you want to work (usually 1).

When you are prompted, enter the password for the Windows installation. If you have not set up a password just press ENTER

    At the command prompt, type

    Bootcfg /Rebuild

    Come in

The exact wording depends on your configuration, but after a few moments, you will see a prompt that displays something like:

    Total identified Windows installs: 1
    [1] C:\Windows
Add Installation to begin the list?

Assuming that the information see you is correct, enter

    THERE

Bootcfg will start the process of reconstruction of the startup list to include the specified Windows installation

After a while, you will be asked to "Enter load identifier".

Is the name of the operating system that will appear in the start menus.

    Type

    Microsoft Windows XP Professional

    or

    Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

    Come in

Then you will be asked to "Enter OS Load Options."

    For normal installations, enter

    / Fastdetect

    Come in

    Type

    Output

to exit the Recovery Console and restart the PC

    PLEASE HELP :(

    Hi Suzanna2001,

Were present from recent changes to the system before the show, such as adding new hardware or software (including Windows Update).  You have access to a Windows CD/DVD?  Run the startup from the CD/DVD repair.  There is also an option to perform a restore of the system on the CD/DVD.  If no option is the problem, follow the steps below:

1 1 demarrer start from the Windows 7 DVD, select your language and keyboard options, select repair your computer, and then select command line.

    2. from the command prompt, run the following command:
    DISM image:c:------/ Get-Packages

This will produce a list of updates installed and packets.  They will look like this:

    The package identity: Package_for_KB978262 ~ 31bf3856ad364e35 ~ x 86 ~ ~ 6.1.1.0
    Status: installed
    Output type: security update
    Install time: 02-11-2010 13:01

    3. find the most recent and then make a note of the identity of the package.

    4 run:

DISM image:c:------/ Remove-Package /PackageName:Package_for_KB978262~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.1.1.0 (name of the update from the previous step)

Until it is complete, you will get a status of the collection.

    5. restart your PC.

You want to start with the most recent, and then remove them one at a time to find the problem update Dena
