Hardware drivers!

Well, I wonder something... What is the best? pilot of the hardware driver or laptop computer manufacturer from the manufacturer? HP don't update their drivers on a monthly basis or regularly... but the hardware manufacturer updates their drivers all month and regularly... so I wonder that you choose, and what is the difference between them...?

The manucfacturer of the laptop computer manufacturer driver driver or hardware?

I suggest you stick to one of them. I recommend you to follow the updates of the HP driver because they release when there is an absolute update in the pilot bearing on the system. However, if you want to use the small changes/updates from the manufacturer, you can install them.

You cannot set a hard and fast rule for this scenario.

Our guys 'IT' knows all the fancy words for all the 'IT' stuff he does, but he has the patience to follow through and fix things until they are really fixed, it starts simply, then vibrates on a list of things to do after his departure... and it is overpriced, even if he was as good as he thinks he's.  But I have no say in this.  I'm not the admin PC I don't think, but I can run & install programs on the PC.  We use TrendMicro, which I'm not thrilled since I just cleaned my PC my 3rd year Trojan horse was not detected by T.M. but was detected by other things, such as MSE and MalwareBytes.  Where should I start, how to get it all cleaned up, & what should I do to keep it?

  • Will be hardware drivers installed on a guest OS is running even if they do not work on the host operating system?

    Scenario:

    VMware Workstation:

    Windows 7 SP1 64 bit host

Windows XP SP 32 bit comments

A scanner and a printer are available for Windows XP hardware drivers.  No hardware drivers are available for Windows 7.

If the hardware drivers for these devices are installed on the client Windows XP OS will work?

    Thank you.

Welcome to the community of users.

The answer is (as usual), it depends on...

My experience has been the following:

If your printer/scanner is usb based, there is a reasonable chance that it will work.

I have an old HP Scanjet (USB key) and an old Belkin UPS (USB) that both require drivers and software that only work under XP. I have an XP VM I'm running pilots of each device and software in and everything works.

I also have an old LasetJet HP (parallel port) that is not supported directly by Windows 7 and more. For this I used a USB-parallel converter > and in a VM XP, I am able to access and print. A Linux VM also recognizes the printer via the number of series-parallel adapter > and I can print it as well.

In any case, I only install the drivers for the virtual machine, not on the host computer. In fact, I can't install the drivers on the host computer, even if I wanted to, they can not even the installation of Win 7 and including Win 7-64 bit host.

If your hardware requires a custom Board, plugged into the motherboard (such as SCSI controllers) used in early scanners, the chances are pretty good it won't work that desktop doesn't pass through for PCI device (or other).

I had especially good luck with USB devices. (Not all, but most).

You'll probably just to try it and see...

    Good luck.

Until the equipment works properly and you have no problems feature update of drivers is not necessary.
It is important to update the operating system pre-installed (Microsoft Updates-ITMU) and preinstalled application antivirus.

  • Envy 17-j053ea hardware drivers.

    Hi people,

I hope someone can help me. I just bought a new laptop, the HP Envy 17-j053ea and equipped with an SSD to it with Windows 7 Pro. I managed to find the drivers and make things more work, but there are still a few outstanding things that I can't get the right driver for.  When I go into the device, under the heading 'Other devices' Manager, I get the following list who still need driver. I'm going crazy trying to find the right ones. On the HP page I tried a couple that I found were for the ethernet device, but they have not worked, so I'm a bit lost now. Fortunately, I managed to get the WiFi working so at least I can still come on the internet and seek solutions etc.

    1. Ethernet Controller.

    2 PCI Device.

    3 SM Bus Device.

    4 unknown Device.

    5 unknown Device.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Thanks for the quick response. Using your method I've now narrowed the list a bit. Two unknown devices are now gone. One of them had something to do with the 3D drivers and the other was the fingerprint reader. Not sure if they work as they should immediately, but they are now gone from the "unknown device". I have just the other three remaining.

    1. Ethernet Controller.

  • HP 2000. : drivers required internal hardware for laptop HP 2000.

Maybe someone can help me get a pawn shop 'negotiate' return to a life of service exclusive of Linux.  The previous owner had appearantly attempted to retrograde Notepad of Windows 8 for Windows 7 using a Win7 recovery disc and a picture of another computer. Then of course the whole system, the recovery partition and everything, have been formatted away and replaced by an unauthorized and broken windows installation.  I'm OK on Ubuntu we so for now, but I may want to install a new copy of Windows and cannot find that site support of hardware drivers Web internal on my laptop HP 2000 (number of product C2M42UA) anywhere on the HP.  Before wiping away the unauthorized installation of Win7 I looked at the Device Manager and do not forget to Realtek HD audio and video Intel HD and have found the drivers elsewhere on the web, but cannot be sure that what I'm going to need.  I don't think remind me that with the bad install ethernet adapter was without a driver, for example.

Where to find a list of drivers for that to scavange the web?  Seems to me that if a hard disk failure will leave any HP computer newest in the worst form, since they replaced the recovery disks with a recovery partition on the hard drive, it is intended to restore.  Something I keep in mind in computer future shopping.

Windows 7 driver download page for your model:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-2000-2b00-notebook-PC-series/5296210/model/5305080#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1

Remember, when you buy a new laptop they don't give you recovery discs. This has been true for many years. However, there is a recovery manager that will allow you to make these discs, and if you do this and store it in a safe place, you are still able to recover your system. Windows itself now has backup tools very good including the ability to make an image of complete computer system in its current state (not the factory condition) so there is no real reason that you cannot be completely protected against a hard disk crash.
