Hardware profiles in Windows 7

They exist, if so where can I find them?

Thank you

Hi Methodman85,

Hardware profile can be set up only for Windows XP, we will not be able to install in windows 7. It's normal.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

    Hello

The feature to create the hardware profile has been removed in Windows Vista and was not added to Windows 7 as well however you can check the link below which could be a workaround to troubleshoot newly installed services.

  • can I use my profile of windows 7 on windows 8 on the same computer

I've been using tb for years, now I'm on windows 7, but when I'm editing I use windows 8 same computer but on a different partition. I don't want to copy files, as when I go back to windows 7 they wont last updated on any new email I received with windows 8. Can I simply use form profile tb windows 7 on windows 8?
Can't do anything in TB until you add an email address, I have, but when I told him to get the windows 7 partition profile I got a large list appear but not my emails or accounts.

am I want to do simply not possible, I see several articles re multiple profiles, but not on multiple windows operating systems

As long as the profile is when Windows 7 and Windows 8 can see (and write in it!), then it should work.

However, the default location is inside the users and this may be limited. Users has been implemented to be accessible from both systems?

Otherwise, you have created a shared folder accessible to both Windows 7 and Windows 8 to host profile?

The trick for the implementation is, once you put the profile where the two installations of Windows can see, is to edit the files respective profile.ini two systems to refer to the new location. You will certainly need also the IsRelative value 0 (i.e. false) and use of backslashes instead of slashes in path names.

A caveat is that both facilities must use the same version of Thunderbird, or they can bicker about version of add-on levels.

    Corrupted user profile

I have a corrupt user profile.  Windows XP. When I add a new can be the same, or should be different.  And the user's profile should match the user ID?

If the profile has recently become corrupted, you can probably get the same user by performing a system restore operation:

Otherwise, you will need to create another user and copy your data.  The simplest procedure is here:

  • Part two question about the profile of Windows Speech recognition (WSR) files.

one) where the profile for Windows Speech recognition (WSR) stored?

    (b) for resettlement took place, I save my entire folder "users". Should I always have to use WSRProfile to back up or will be my WSRProfile safely copied and restored with this action?

    Thank you

    Tank

I wish I could tell you the exact location where the profile is stored.  I wish I could tell you the exact name of the file is stored as (perhaps something like.) WSRProfile).  It seems that this information is very secretive to say the least.

If (and I guess they are stored somewhere in your profile) you copy your profile manually or with any Windows Easy Transfer tool. then everything in this profile will be copied across.

If you use the Windows speech recognition profile tool to import or export profiles of speech then they will do the job by taking the default location for files and placing them in the location by default on the destination computer.

    Hello

Method 1: In order to troubleshoot mouse flickering issue, I would say you run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter and check if it solves the problem:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

Method 2: update the driver graphics card and the mice and other pointing device and then check if the problem persists or you are able to adjust the hardware acceleration.

  • How to increase hardware acceleration in windows 8 Pro

Salvation of WIndows experts, please let me know how to increase windows hardware acceleration in Windows 8 Pro?

    Hi Sabir,

Hardware acceleration can be increased or decreased. It can only be enabled or disabled. It also depends on the graphics card. Some graphics cards do not support hardware acceleration.

Please read the following steps to check if the graphics card supports acceleration hardware or not and to allow:

    a. on the desktop, press the Windows key + X and select Control Panel.

    b. in icons view, click view , and then click change display settings, in the left pane.

    c. click on Advanced settings.

In the advanced settings window, if the Troubleshooting tab is present, then the graphics card supports hardware acceleration.

    b. click the Troubleshooting and move the Hardware Acceleration complete.

    c. click OK and restart the computer to save the settings.

I hope this information is useful. Please get back to us with the State of the question.

  • The wireless profiles of Windows 8, which exists but can not be found any where... including in the netsh command

Why can I not see or delete Active profiles?  I started to get error messages saying: unable to connect to the profile 'NAME '.  When I try to remove the profile from the command prompt, it shows that those that work, but I have two profiles that show and error to connect but have no way to remove them from the system.  I have removed connections wireless for these profiles and have reconfigured all of them, but they still keep coming back.

    Hi GordSmyth,

I suggest you follow these steps to remove the network unwanted wireless.

    a. click on the network icon in the system tray and then you will be able to see the wireless connections.

    b. right-click on the network, and then select Forget this network.

Up to Windows 7, connected wireless networks were previously recorded and searchable via the preferred wireless network list, but this feature seems to have been deleted in Windows 8. Microsoft has removed as a smart feature has been added, which handles wireless profiles by how you connect to him, and while we can always watch yet natively wireless network profiles in Windows 8:

    Manage wireless network profiles

  • Customize the default user profile in Windows 7

    Hi all

"With our XP pool view we could make all our customizations you made to the image of the master then go in" System Properties "->"Advanced"->"User profiles"and copy the profile of the user of the model in the folder"Default User"hidden under"C:\Documents and Settings"and all new domain users who have logged in our pool of non-persistent linked clone would get all the customizations... nice and easy.

With Windows 7, the option to copy the profile is grayed out. To work around this problem, we found that we could use sysprep and that it points to a file with the option < CopyProfile > unattend.xml and need customizations, realize you the local administrator and copy them into the C:\Users\Default user profile. Here is the command that we would run

    C:\windows\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe/OOBE/redemarrer / generalize /unattend:c:\scripts\unattend.xml

Subsequently he will reactivate the local administrator account, but it worked well... until we realized that we could only run sysprep about 3 times and then we would have a limit trying to rearm! Has anyone found an easy way to customize the default user profile without falling on these issues?

We tried to make as many customization we can with group policy, but we seem to have hit a wall

We use free software called DefProf made by ForensiT.

  • Adding mobile broadband custom profiles in Windows 7

I need to create a connection profile custom mobile broadband on a number of Windows 7 computers. I learned that this could be done by running the following command:
netsh mbn add profile interface = MobileBroadband connection"name ="ProfileName.xml"
where nomProfil.xml is an XML file that is created according to the instructions available on http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg487383.aspx.

The problem is that I always get an error saying "Cannot load profile" when I run the command.

My XML file looks like this:

         TestProfile

         true
         UserProvisioned
         123456789012345
         false
         manual

             DISABLE
             NONE

I have also tried copying a working profile's xml file (from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\WwanSvc\Profiles), but this also gives me "The Profile cannot be loaded".

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    I found a solution:

Command does not work for some reason any addition of profile manually by using the 'netsh mbn Add... '. ». But add the profile using the install.cmd works. I don't know why the manual method does not work, but this method is good enough for me for now.

Make it work I have created the following files (by copy/paste in the document at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/gg487383.aspx in Notepad):

    • Branding.cmd
    • install.cmd
    • Profiletemplate.Xml
    • tag.txt

After that, I copied my logo.ico icon file in the same folder.

Then I edited the Profiletemplate.xml in order to take into account my APN, autoconnect, and other settings.

Finally, I've run install.cmd and he managed to create a new profile for me.
