Upgrade HDD P10-221 question

I want to spend the hard drive of my laptop P10-221, but now I was wondering what kind of types are compatible. I wanted to buy a Hitachi TRAVELSTAR 7 K 100 80 GB ATA6 (ATA parallel).
The manual says that it supports Ultra DMA 100. Will this work?

Hello

You will be very happy if someone can give you a good answer, but before you expect contact local partner or a local dealer. They have experience in the hardware upgrade.

After restarting the laptop, the usb connections and the sounds have disappeared, what can I do?

The laptop is a Satellite P10-221

    Hello

In a first step, I would re - install the drivers for the chipset for your laptop.

After that uninstall the battery Bluetooth and re - install also.

There is also an information sheet available online to get information on the new drivers for Service Pack 2. Watch http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

Free configuration (4.90.57) and PC (3.0.6) Diagnostic tool are available for users of Windows XP Service 2.

Take a look at http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com to get updates for download.

Keep me informed of your results

  • Satellite P10-221, keyboard Fn + F5 shortcut problem

On my Toshiba Satellite P10-221, running Windows XP, I used to be able to use the Fn + F5 to switch on my external screen. Recently, by pressing Fn + F5 the menu same as always, but the only option is the LCD. I used to have CRT and TV as an option. Is anyone familiar with this problem? I already tried to install the display driver (Nvidia), but this does not solve the problem.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

The external screen is correctly connected? Display driver has nothing to do with the FN + F5 option. Utility designed Toshiba is responsible for this.

  • Equium A110-233: upgrade HDD - can I use 250 GB HARD drive?

    Hi all

I would like to upgrade my hard drive (40 GB now). What is the maximum capacity of HD, that supports my Toshiba? Can I put still 250GB?

Another question is, can I buy for example external USB 2.5 "hard drive and swap the drive of my laptop with it, I mean put one of the USB box inside my Toshiba and Toshiba original to USB enclosure?

    If it works?

    Hello

Unfortunately, there is no public document on upgrading the HARD disk and you will be very happy if someone can give you good info. I must say that I agree with GhostUK and I think that 120 GB should be enough and this HARD drive will be recognized correctly.

In the end, do not you extreme upgrade. ;)

Of course you can do it.

    Hello

I would like to ask if there is an option to insert a new hard drive in my toshiba. As much as I know that there is no official support for this?

There is an access to the place where the disc is placed on the side of the laptop. S

    1. is it possible to put a new drive (faster and longer)
    2. is it possible without losing the warranty
    3. what discs do you offer me

    Thanks Szczepaan

It seems that the device must be capable of supporting hard drives 2.5 "up to 120 GB. Additional cell phone supports DMA synchronous Ultra100.
You can use hard disks with a rotation of 4200 / 5400 RPM

  • Upgrade HDD/SSD on Qosmio G30-126

I'm trying to decide if I should upgrade existing at a larger size HARD drive or just a large and an SSD.

Question 1: what is the size for the two new HARD drives because the power supply is limited?
Question2: For now, I run the two HARD a disc, so no RAID. Is it possible that I can determine what is on which drive? I do not envy the dumping everything on a drive connected and then import the new HARD disk.
Question3: Is there a substantial improvement in speed when using the SSD as a HARD drive? I run W7 professional and compared to Mint example startup is pathetically slow.

    Appreciate answers or suggestions.

    Hello

Qosmio G30 already supports SATA interface and so general, interface SATA has no capacity limit. If you can install a SATA 2.5 HARD drive with all the sizes. Ore of 500 GB drives is no problem on SATA interface so it s on applications and data based on what size you want / need.

If your laptop is capable of managing 2 hard/SSD drives, you can buy an SSD 128GB for example for Windows and your applications and a HDD (500 GB) for your data.

Disc SSD is faster than hard drives, but they are more expensive. SSD are perfect for the OS itself and programs but for data such as photos, music, etc. Hard drives are fast enough.

  • Upgrade HDD/SSD 500 GB on Tecra R950-19th

    Hi all.

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade (buy and then replace) my HARD - SSD (256 GB) drive to a 500 GB/1 TB on my Tecra R950-19th.

If so, you have online stores to suggest buying?

    Thank you.

I think that it should be possible to use this HARD drive since the SATA controller is able to manage these sizes because of 48-bit LAB (Logical Block Addressing)
Usually there is no big difference between HARD drive manufacturers, but I recommend you to check some reviews and read some article on HARD drive, you are interesting in.

What you need is a SATA 2.5 HARD drive (speed is not question for the compatibility of devices)

Hello, I ordered a Lenovo IdeaPad Z585 off newegg because of a sale they have past, but I had a question about upgrading the ram. I guess that the laptop will come with 2x2gb sticks at 1600 mhz, and I was wondering if I would be able to replace one of the 2 GB sticks with a stick of 4 GB 1600 to make 6 GB all together. It would recognize or I have to buy 2x4gb sticks? Thank you.

Is there a difference between these two models?

I want to upgrade the memory of my Aspire netbook 1430Z-4677. The vehicle currently has 3 GB, and the prodcut Acer site says that it is upgraded to 4 GB max. However, the Crucial.com site says it is expandable to 8 GB. Could Acer one give me an official response here? Thank you very much for help!

your processor is capable of addressing up to 8 GB of ram, but you must have a 64-bit operating system so he can see all 8 GB that 32-bit will be a maximum of 4 GB only, if your current bios is able to see all the 8 GB comes in question and I don't know, but if your reading others did so the only way to know is to try it for yourself.

  • Upgrade fails Assistant & other Questions

Howdy, people.  As some other users have reported here, I was waiting for two kits of updated level of HP, one for a laptop in July ordered and another kit for an office in September.  Today I received a kit and the upgrade wizard has reported that the laptop is not eligible.  Stupid of me to assume that Avarto would use a FIFO method for shipping, rather than satisfy customers first who waited the longest.

In any case, I was still able to install Win7 and bouguerra until then, but here are two problems I have.

    (1) although I installed Win7 on my DV3-2150, I had to manually install different drivers, some of which (HP Quick Launch Buttons) does not work.  Is there a way to download the CORRECT HPUA for a laptop anywhere on this site?  Or, having already manually installed the drivers, is now outdated?

    (2) I downloaded and installed the HP Support Assistant, but it doesn't seem to do much of anything.  It is not related any software installed or upgraded (despite the fact that the Synaptics drivers were not yet installed.  And, even after the installation of the driver Synaptics/utility, it is still not related something scalable.  What gives?  Do I have the wrong version of this thing, or is it essentially useless?

Hope someone can get me pointed in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance!

  • EliteBook8540w: upgrade HDD on an EliteBook8540w - what HARD drive adapt?

Hello fellow users of HP laptop

I own an EliteBook 8540w and wonder what HARD drive I can use to upgrade this box.

Here are the detailed specifications of the box.

Processor type: Mobile Quad Core Intel Core i7-740QM, 2100 MHz (16 x 131)

Card mother name: Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 8540w

Motherboard Chipset: Intel Ibex Peak - M QM57, Intel Clarksfield

    System memory: 8119 MB (DDR3 - 1333 DDR3 SDRAM)

    DIMM1: Samsung M471B5273CH0-CH9 4 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (9-9-9-24 @ 666 MHz) (8-8-8-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 MHz) (5-5-5-14 @ 380 MHz)

    DIMM2: Samsung M471B5273CH0-CH9 4 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (9-9-9-24 @ 666 MHz) (8-8-8-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 MHz) (5-5-5-14 @ 380 MHz)

Video card: NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800 M (1 GB)

    HARD drive:

The HARD drive I have now is this.

I assumed that the height of the HARD drive is key here, so not so many restrictions on the HARD drive, is that OK? I could get an SSD as well as long as the height is very well, just?

    Thank you for your help.

    Best regards

    W9Y

Yes, absolutely. Stick with 2.5 inches wide, 9.5 or 7 mm thickness SATA hdd or SSD. 7 mms are leaner, but the mounting holes are in the same place and the SATA data connector and the power supply is in the same place. You cannot use a 9.5 where only a 7mm is used as on Ultrabooks ultraslim, but a 7mm will replace a 9.5 mm. 7mm fits into the caddy and connectors will still work the drive but does not fill the carriage upwards. Yours is a chunky fellow that originally had a 9.5 mm drive. Sometimes you see disks of 2.5 inches wide from 12mm for blades and those who are not fit.

If it's in the budget, get an SSD. I'm kinda an envangelist SSD, but you will be too once you have used a.
