HAV detection fails after the closure of XP Mode until I have hard restart the computer on Win 7 Pro 64.

I am running Win 7 Pro 64 bit, and I have a number of programs that are not compatible I have to run to work.  I installed XP mode, and the XP mode is running everything is fine.  When I stopped the XP mode, however, I can't reopen the XP Mode without making a hard my computer stop, as the detection of HAV told me that my BIOS is not correctly configured (note, have not changed the BIOS settings, and I've been able to open at this point).  Soft reboots do not seem to solve this problem, so I find myself in front make full tap downs and resets in order to get my settings of the BIOS to read again.  Is this a known problem or there at - it another way, I'm supposed to close out of the XP Mode so that I can still restart it without having to go through all that?

Windows Update has nothing to do with this problem, even if you have upgraded to Win7. Method 2

If the previous step fails then I suggest that you try the clean boot procedure to check whether a third-party program installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Error - Windows Update cannot currently check the updates, because the service is not running. You may have to restart your computer

Original title - Vista sp2 64-bit windows program update is not running

When I open the program "Windows Update", it has an "X" in a red shield symbol.  When I click on the tab "Check for updates", I instantly get a message that says: "the Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running."  You may have to restart your computer.  When I click on the button 'Start' and the window appears with the options of closing down, change user, registration, etc., the first button shows an orange exclaimation mark and when selected the computer seems to make an attempt to download whatever it tries to download.  However, it never downloads anything, and the rest of the exclaimation mark orange.  How can I solve these two issues?  I'm guessing that repair will set the other.

    Hi doubleott

    Method 1:

You can perform a scan of the SFC (System File Checker). It lists all the issues and will also retrieve all files if necessary. Follow the steps below to p Ed a SFC Scan -.

    a. click Start, click programs, on Accessoriesprincipally made, right click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow
    b. type the following command and press ENTER:
    sfc/scannow
A message appears indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient because the scan can take some time.
    c. If all files require a SFC replace will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue.
    d. If everything is correct you should, after the scan, see the following message "resource protection Windows not found any breach of integrity".
    e. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

Check the link below for further guidance on scan SFC - mentioned
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

You can try to reset the Windows Update components and check if that helps. Follow the link given below to do the same.

  • Programs can not be started, or no response after the computer was not awake mode "Eve"

    Dear Sir.

My lap top is under the VISTA system. Now the problem is that all programs can not be started or no response after the computer was not awake mode "Eve". I have to restart the computer to recover the computer to normal state.

Please please let me have your advice to return to my email address: * email address is removed from the privacy *.

    Thank you very much!

    Eric

    Hi Eric,.

    You can follow these steps:

Step 1: perform a clean boot to verify if an application or service is causing the problem.

See this article for more information on the clean boot:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
     http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Steps to perform a clean boot:
    a. click the ORB start on your desktop
    b. type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
    c. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
    d. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
    e. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box and then click Disable all.
    f. click OK.
    g. When prompted, click on restart.

NOTE: Please check that you start the computer in normal mode after a repair. Follow step 7 article.

Step 2: Configure the power settings for keyboard, mouse, and other devices.

    a. Click Start, click Control Panel, hardware and sound, and then click keyboard.
    b. click on the Hardware tab, and then click the properties button.
    c. click Change settings.
    d. click the power management tab and verify that the allow this device to wake the computer is selected.
    e. If "Allow this device to wake the computer" was not selected, select it and click OK.
Follow the same steps for the mouse as well.

If the problem persists, disconnect all non-essential devices (printers, scanners, USB drives). Restart the computer with only the original mouse, monitor, and
connected keyboard. If this solves the problem of sleep/wake, one of the devices was causing the problem. Replace a device at a time and test to see if the
problem occurs again. Continue adding devices and testing until you find the device that causes the problem.

Refer to this article for additional troubleshooting steps.

Old dualboot options still available after the installation of Windows 8 Pro on desktop in XP, but now triple options. • After the upgrade to WIN 8, Office and other programs are lost?

After the upgrade to WIN 8, have been uninstalled all of my programs, including Office 2010. Does anyone know if there is a way to get back programs without having to reinstall everything?

If you have selected "keep settings of Windows, files and applications, then you should still have Microsoft Office installed. You have not selected this option during installation?

Besides being able to keep your Windows settings and personal files, you can keep your personal files too during the upgrade to Windows 7. If you choose No, Windows 8 place your files in a folder named Windows.old.

If you have not selected these options, you will need to reinstall your programs since the original installation disc.

To launch your applications, go to the start, screen by pointing your mouse pointer on the left corner of the screen of Windows 8 and click on it.

Do scroll to the right and start your application.

For more information about how to install Windows 8 applications, see the following article:

  • After the upgrade to CC2015 Premiere Pro crashes everytime on the launch

After the upgrade to CC2015 Premiere Pro seems to be the only program that does not work. It crashes every time on the launch.

    I am running Windows 8.1 on a laptop Alienware15.

I have 2 video cards: Intel HD 4600 Graphics and AMD Radeon R9 M390X

I have games updated for both driver.

I'm not under a second monitor and I tried to uninstall the program several times and reboot the computer and logging in and out of the creation of clouds.

I do not know how to log an incident report, but I would love to help with this problem since I was starting school in two days and I need this problem as soon as POSSIBLE. I have checked the forums and have yet to see a solution that doesn't involve no Mac and second monitors.

I had already tried the shift + alt method nothing helps.

I had a discussion with Adobe online help. After they disabled my graphics card, the program of Premiere Pro worked again. I was told to get a different graphics card of their 'approved list' of the graphics card. When I refused this option they renamed some system32 file for a "solution" to this problem. From what I can tell, they renamed the 'OpenCL.dll' to 'oldOpenCL.dll '.

It seems to work now. So, until further notice, this problem has been resolved.

Whenever I go to windows update, it says "Windows update cannot currently check updates, because the service is not running. You may have to restart your computer"I restarted my computer, but the same message back steadily for several weeks. How can I fix?

    Thank you

    Hi Lydia,.

There are three services that are important to check, download and install the updates. These services are Background Intelligent of cryptographic services service and the Windows update Service. These should be in the started state and currently running on the computer so that the computer connects to Windows Update Server, check the update that corresponds to the computer, and then download them accordingly.

Follow the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2730071 and make sure that these services are started on the computer. If they are, then if he please stop and then restart the services. Restart the computer once that change in services.
