  • Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver - this is going to work with a remote xbox?

Hi, I have the xbox 360 Wireless gaming receiver and I am trying to get a remote control for it.  Does the xbox 360 remote sync to the xbox or is it just regular IR

    Thanks for your help

The xbox 360 remote control Infra-red, the 360 has an IR receiver port.

The wireless gaming receiver is radio only, so will not pick up the remote control. There isn't AFAIK a 'remote control' for the wireless receiver such that it has a validity of the Protocol only for xbox 360 Wireless devices, although there are a lot of 3rd inventive party accessories available, there might be something. You can of course use one of these wireless devices as a remote for other applications with the right software (xpadder, beam, etc.).

The Xbox 360 remote control can be used with a PC using an IR receiver, but it's not plug-and-play, here is a solution: http://www.redmondpie.com/using-xbox-360-ir-remote-with-vista-media-center/

Other that that, there are a multitude of remotes for PC, IR and wireless (including bluetooth). Bluetooth is the option if you want to keep your number of receivers plugged into your pc to a minimum, however, IR is still much better for the battery of remote controls (why it is still used despite the benefits of the radio).

  • What I need to download in order to play games on my PC with my Xbox 360 controller? It says I need a system with XP SP1 or SP2, but I have Windows 7. Any thoughts?

    • I already downloaded the patch for xbox 360 controller.
    • Windows 7 is installed, but the error message that appears indicates that I need XP SP1 or SP2.

    Hi SevOmega,

Welcome to Microsoft 7 answers Forum!

The patch you downloaded can support only Windows XP (SP1 or SP2) which is not compatible to your computer since your computer is installed with Win7.

I suggest that you visit the same Web site where you downloaded the patch and download the patch that is suitable for Win7 and check.

  • Having trouble connecting: a trackpad which does not of mouse and a little off screen graphics

So, recently I had a problem with the connection on my MacBook Pro, my guess is that this happened just after the recent update to El Capitan 10.11.3

While booting, the machine feels slower than it has been in the past and when I get to the login screen the built in trackpad and my magic mouse suffer from what can only be described as extreme lag. They are all two very unresponsive and there is a very long time to see any movement. When there is movement, it's as if he only had a little bit of the path being recorded there.

    Things I've tried so far:

Reboot into recovery mode, in this case the mouse and trackpad work very well. If I restart things CIHI work normally, however, the guest account has a strange horizontal line and shading. This is my usual indication that I will be able to log on normally.

I also tried resetting the pram, the smc, permissions repair, scheduled maintenance tasks and clear the caches. This has been done with Onyx for Mac.

Could really do with a solution that it affects my work machine and of course to try to connect to my machine for 15-20 minutes every morning isn't very productive.

Details of the system are as follows:

    Retina, 13-inch, early 2015

Processor: Intel Core i5 at 2.7 GHz

    Memory: 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: Intel Graphics Iris 6100 1536 MB

Since the update to Windows 8, I'm having problems with streaming of media to my Xbox 360.

Previously, I had windows 7 and has been able to stream multimedia content (movies and music), or via the Media Center windows, or by connecting to my PC via the Xbox drive and folder navigation.
Since the update to Windows 8 Media Center not connecting, he used even together upwards. I enter the 7 digit code set up and my computer says it cannot establish a connection. I tried to connect to my PC through the Xbox and when it can not connect.
In the list of devices, the Xbox is displayed and even so capricious it shows that the Xbox is online and I am able to stream on my 360 using the video app and selecting "send to device" and selecting the 360. Unfortunately, this will randomly cut everything playing and yesterday would not work?
I am running windows 8 Pro 64-bit with media center installed. I am connected via WIFI to my router, but my Xbox 360 has a wired connection
Please help, I'm getting so frustrated that I spent a fortune on upgrading my PC and OS lose all the features, I already had

Copy and beyond music in your cloud files, this makes select all your music and right click on the files you want to play or your xbox. Scroll down and select the option 'include in the library', and then click music.

As says Peteanon go to windows medial player and make sure that the name of your xbox is checked, and then click Next until you get a password to get into your local network share there are three pages. When you reach the last click on print password and instructions. Follow the instructions on how to configure a password sharing between your xbox and pc.

for the last two days that I had a connection problem after that I followed this method my music perfectly.

Note: I have an xbox 360 and I am sure that it will work with the xbox one, but it should make note.

The Xbox 360 has been disconnected because an application has launched unexpectedly UI. You want to reconnect?

I followed all the steps of your forums that are supposed to resolve these issues, but he continues to be. What can I do to fix this?

    Hi Snufferum,

    Thanks for posting on answers.com.

First, disable the program anti-virus or firewall that runs on your computer and check if the problem persists.

Note: because some anti-virus software will cause conflicts between unexpected applications, please temporarily disable any antivirus, firewall or anti-spam on your computer programs.

This problem occurs if the floating language bar is enabled on the Windows Vista-based Media Center computer. This configuration closes the connection between the Media Center Extender and the Media Center PC.

To resolve this problem, change the settings of the Media Center Extender language bar. To do this, follow these steps.

Step 1: Configuring settings on the Windows Vista - based Media Center computer

    1. Click Start , type intl.cpl in the Start Search box and press ENTER.
    2. On the keyboards and languages tab, click Change keyboards .
    3. On the Language bar tab, click docked in the taskbar under options from the language bar .
    4. Click OK .
    5. On the administration tab, click copy to reserved accounts .

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue .

    1. Click on the checkbox by default (new users) user account , and then click OK twice.
    2. Click Start and then click Windows Media Center .
    3. Click tasks , and then click settings .
    4. Click Extender , and then on the Xbox 360.
    5. Click Uninstall , and then close Windows Media Center.

Step 2: Configuring the settings of the Xbox 360 console

    1. In the System of the Xbox interface section, select computers .
    2. Select Windows Media Center , and then press the A button.
    3. Select Disconnect .
    4. Press the B button repeatedly until you return to the System section.
    5. In the media of the Xbox interface section, select Media Center .
    6. Advance in the instructions on the screen to get the 8-digit setup key.
    7. Note the setup button.

Step 3: Configuring the settings on the Windows Vista - based Media Center computer

    1. Click Start and then click Windows Media Center .
    2. Click tasks , and then click add extender .
    3. Click Next and enter the 8-digit setup key you obtained media of the Xbox interface section.
    4. Follow the prompts to complete setup of Windows Media Extender.

When you copy these settings for reserve accounts in the 1st step, you change the settings of language bar for all new users that are created on the Media Center computer. After you add the Windows Media Extender, you can reverse these changes so that all new users will have a floating language bar. To do this, follow these steps on the Windows Vista-based Media Center computer:

    1. Click Start , type intl.cpl in the Start Search box and press ENTER.
    2. On the keyboards and languages tab, click Change keyboards .
    3. On the Language bar tab, click floating on the desktop under the language bar options .
    4. Click OK .
    5. On the administration tab, click copy to reserved accounts .

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue .

    1. Click on the checkbox by default (new users) user account , and then click OK twice.

  • Sync problems Xbox 360 wireless receiver for Windows and the controller (Windows XP, SP3)

I'm having trouble connecting my controller to the wireless receiver. I use XP, Service Pack 3, 32-bit. I read dozens of help sites for help, but none has my same circumstances. The most common suggestion was to look at the driver for the receiver appears as a device not recognized. I checked the Device Manager and the receiver is recognized and does not appear as device not recognized. My controller does not appear in Device Manager as a new group named Microsoft Common Controller for Windows class, on Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. My controller syncs perfectly with my console, and functions very well also. I also downloaded the file Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories of the Microsoft hardware Web site, such as recommended by many establishments but do not know how file functions. A last help, my receiver is genuine and not fake with the XBCD holographic logo.

OK... I just bought the game of the year Elderscrolls oblivion eddition and I bought a XBOX 360 controller to use considering how it is compatible with windows 7... Everything works great with one exception. The right analog stick on the controller is supposed to control the movements of camera but it does nothing, so I have to resort using the mouse which can be quite the pain. How can I set the analog stick right to act like the mouse to control the camera? Its very important and any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows all of a sudden not connect into any USB port

Original title: Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows issue.

Hi, I bought this back in 2008 and it has been flawless since today... I tried to use it and the controller is unable to connect to the receiver.

There is no light on the receiver, even when I plug it into a different USB port there is still nothing... I even tried another computer. I assume the receiver is nakered?. Can anyone shed some light on this?

If the receiver is so broken, can I buy this receiver on its own and that it will be compatible with my wireless controller Xbox 360 instead of having to buy another expensive controller...

    Thank you very much.
