  • Headphones do a static/buzzing noise on my XPS 13 (9350)

Hi guys, when I use headphones/headset to my laptop via the headphone jack, I always hear a low static/buzzing despite the fact that no music or sound is played. Anyone else have this problem or knows how to solve?

Increase / decrease audio volume make a difference? Have you tried other headphones, or tried the helmet another PC, the noise only happen with Notepad, or follow the headset? Do you notice only the sound when using the headset?

The big thing here is to make sure that the headphone is plugged, check to see if there is any give in the connection. Move the laptop to another location and see if the noise follows the laptop.  It could be something near the laptop which is the cause of the problem. If notice you the sound on the speakers try to download the drivers.

Please let me know what you find.

Hi everyone whenever I plug my headphones into the audio jack I get a buzzing sound which is quite loud and irritating. However, the normal speakers work correctly with no hum. Any help is appreciated.

  • Is this normal for retina imac to do great headphone plug sound during installation first speakers?  Some new arise as well.

I have an imac of retina.  Since the day I bought it new, I also had new harman/kardon talking plugged into the headphone jack.  This has worked well for more than a year or two.  Recently, I noticed an occasional static or pop.  It is not very strong, it's just boring.  I went to make sure that the headphone jack was still firmly inserted on the speakers and a very strong buzz takes place when you first insert the speakers.  To be fair, makes the noise even if I touch just the end of the shooting (of speakers), as if my human energy is impacting on the speakers.   Is this normal?

Everything seems to work very well for most Park with the imac and the speakers, once I insert them.  But they are a very strong when buzz jack of first contact with the helmet of the imac.  In addition, it seems to be a very slight whistle full time air and occasional pop of static sound.

I moved the speaker wire to ensure that they were not in contact with anything whatsoever.

I changed the plug for the speakers.

I did a reset of the PRAM.

I did a reset of the SCM.

Another thing before I wrap up this thing and go through the genius bar appointment process?  Everything I am on?

    Thank you.

    Hello

The short answer is no the explanation is that the headphones and speakers, both, must be in the State of "Turn off" when you connect or plug in the unit. Amplified as helmet speakers power can be "plugged hot."

These phone can get dirty sitting and not mobile. Simply power off all devices and 'gently' work the phone jack to plug and unplug some times help you to establish a better connection. If this does not resolve the static electricity, then consider that it should be considered by a professional.

    Bravo!

  • HP laptop - 15-ac158dx: squeaky sound coming from computer speakers, headphones are not affected

Earlier this week, I received and downloaded the latest update of Windows 10. It went smoothly as planned and everything seemed fine until yesterday, I started to experience a buzzing scratching of my laptop speakers. It was intermittent at first, and then it escalated. Some music and audio as dialogue and certain songs feels this scraping sound along the coast the audio ordinary much.

To test fade the cause is physical (speakers themselves) or software related (because of update) I did the following.

I tried what has been said in this issue; http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/HP-15-audio-crackles-unless-headphones-plugged-in/td-p/5....

I created a system on the laptop restore point and backup all data and uninstalled the audio drivers from the Device Manager and reinstalled.

It didn't work and now I'm assuming it's a physical problem with the speakers themselves. If this is the case, what should I do? A check appears to show that my warranty is still applicable; should I go with him?

    @cannonfodder-14

Thanks for joining the HP Forums.
I'll be happy to help you

If I understand correctly the helmet function correctly, however, the speakers create excessive noise and in view of the fact that you have already reinstalled the drivers, tried a backup & restore, but the problem persists.

  • HP laptop - 15-ac131nv: distortion sound/buzz

    Hello

I have problems with my speakers. Whenever I have play anything the sound is distorted and there's a little buzz, as if the frequencies/sounds are too much for the speakers to manage. It happens even on system sounds. It started to happen about a week to 10 days, and I think it was once a substantial package of updates installed Windows. I also feel (although I can't be sure) that this does not happen directly when I turn on the computer and play something, but if I play something and then get a sound system or a sound from another source, that's when the distortion occurs. If I plug in my headphones the sound is great and there is no problem.

All my drivers are up to date, I manually installed the last two days ago, but that does not solve the problem. I also made sure the sound levels (audio output) are not too high.  Any ideas would be much appreciated, because it becomes very annoying and I'm beginning to wonder if the speakers are somewhat damaged. There just 2 months I bought this computer, so it's quite upsetting.

    Thank you very much

Yes I think that did the trick.

    Thanks a lot again!

  • Portege M800 - fricative sound is displayed using headphones

    Hello

I bought a new M800 a month ago, and it's until recently that I realize, with my new headphones Senheisser (and other headphones too), I hear all the time a fricative sound.

I tried all sorts of things, configuration of the microphone and dolby audio driver update parameters settings, nothing seems out of the "parasite".
What's worse, when I open a music file, the noise gets in reality amplified and I hear a buzzing sound especially when piano music is played.

However, if I connect the laptop to a speaker, noise is negligible.

This means that my sound cart has a problem? or is the line-out socket?

    Thank you very much!!

    > if I connect the laptop to a speaker, noise is negligible.
As you say that the noise is not really noticeable using external speakers.

Have you tested it with different headphones?
    Did you notice a difference?

  • Why is my iPod Touch 5 making a buzzing sound?

My iPod is not playing music or make sounds. When I try to play music nothing happens and when I try to play a sound effect, like a ringtone, it is it buzz. I tried to remove my case and nothing happened. I also tried unplugging my headphones to see if they were the problem and nothing happened then either. Please help me! What should I do?

It's an iPod Touch with 32 GB of storage 5 and I had a little more than two years. Thank you!

First of all, check if the mute is enabled. You can open the control center and press the mute icon, or switch on the side of the iPod. If this does not work, you should try to update, or bring it to the Apple Store, where they can fix.

  • HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b000: my laptop makes buzzing noise

My laptop makes buzzing noise while playing music or video on both headphones and speakers

    Hi @vineeth_7,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion 15-b000 Sleekbook sizzling/buzzing noise. You can try:

    1. right click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your time.
    2. click on playback devices.
    3. click on the speakers.
    4. click on properties.
    5. click on the Advanced tab in the Properties window.
    6. change the default menu Format in the highest quality.
    7. apply properties.
    8. click OK to close the Properties window. Restart your laptop and try the sound.

You can try to use theWindows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows.  Reboot the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed.

I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS withthis document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. This helped other people.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • Buzz of pitch high woman victim Canon XA20

I recently bought two Sony UWP - D11 to work with my Canon XA20 wireless microphones. I have the film interviews in three floors building. I use headphones (headphones at 12 on camcorder setting) during recording and can not hear a buzzing or extra noise while filming. However, it's another story when I add the files on my or other computers. The pickups will sometimes work well on the floor and then experience a humming noise and audio pitch high down or vice versa. Sometimes I just encounter the problem in all locations. There are a lot of inconsistencies. I spoke with a representative of sony to ensure that my microphone settings were not the issue.

This could be a problem with the way in which the files are written to a memory card, what I use, the card memory internet wireless in the building, or another problem? If so, what would be the best solution?

    I really appreciate your help.

    Hi Clare27!

    Thanks for posting.

It is possible that something causes interference or signal of buzz is coming from the micro receiver.  If you connect a standard stereo microphone of no wireless in the camera, you hear the same buzz?

If it is a time sensitive matter, additional support options are available to contact us.

  • Frequent sounds of 'buzz'

My wife has a laptop Dell Inspiron N4110 with SRS Premium SOund technology.   Recently, he began to make frequent short 'buzz' sounds (one every 2 minutes) because she is listening to SAIAB. AC. ZA, PBS.ORG, Pandora.com and Hulu.com.  It happens when she's using Chrome or IE. I uninstalled the 2 sound devices and reinstalled them at the next reboot.  Always the same.  The sounds of buzz arrive when it uses its built-in speakers and when using headphones.

    Any thoughts on next steps?

    Mike T GOES.

Sorry for the very late reply but we were overwhelmed messages about the noise. It is a problem that began on February 11, 2015. If it's yours at the beginning, see the FAQ Audio Choppy/jump.
