• Headset microphone does not work on Aspire E14. Help please?

  I bought a laptop Aspire e14 and a headphone (GE Voip stereo headset 98974), but the headset microphone is not detected by my laptop.  I tried other headphones, but the microphone still does not work. I updated the driver but it still does not work.

  Device Manager does not detect the other microphone.

  EUREKA!

  I managed to solve the problem!

  In case you are experiencing the same, this could work:

  1. pull upward the TASK MANAGER. Under the "Startup" tab, check if the Realtek HD Audio Manager is disabled. If so, right-click on it and then click on 'enable '.

  

  2. search for "Realtek HD Audio Manager" and click on it.

  

  3. on the Microphone tab, check that the microphone is not on mute and click the icon of the folder on the right side

  

  4. Once you click on the folder on the right side, a pop up as will appear and you will need to make sure that the box is checked as the image below:

  

  5. now, plug your headset device and you should see a pop-up message like so... and check on the option button "HEADPHONES".

  

  Now you can test the microphone using sound recorder or Skype.

  It worked for me and I felt so helpless.

  I even tried Acer support cat and the person has not yet asked troubleshooting and just told me to bring the product to a service centre

• HP Envy 14 HEADSET MICROPHONE DOES NOT WORK

  Hi, I have a HP Envy 14-1111 nr laptop computer with Windows 7 and I always had problems with working microphones. I plug in my headphones and put plugs in the appropriate ports, including through taking Mic in port with a picture of a headset/microphone. I also put the audio plug on the correct port.

  The audio still works fine I can hear things properly from the helmet. But the microphone NEVER WORKS. I made sure the microphone is on and I put the headset microphone as the default recording device, and made sure it's not muted and even tried like 3 different types of helmets, but it still does not work.

  My computer recognizes my headset has a microphone when I plug it, because the independent headset appears on my recording devices. But any point the noise I into the microphone, my computer does not recognize him. Basically, it is saying that it cannot detect all the sounds of the mic.

  It's incredibly frustrating because I spent money on different microphones, but now I think it's the fault of my computer. Is there something wrong with the microphone/headphone jack? What can I do to fix this?

  Solution: the HP Envy laptop is not a microphone jack, it has a "headphone" which is designed to work with smartphones.

  In order to use a headset with microphone with this computer, you need a conversion cable so that you can convert your helmet at the exit of the smartphone. I just ordered it on amazon, it should be here soon.

  1 do you mean that you are not capable of recording using the microphone that is built with the helmet?

  2. have you checked if the microphone with the headphones work well?

  Make sure you setup recording properly on your computer. Run the configuration of recording when you connect the headset. Here is a tutorial that I found on the Wavepad website that shows how to set the microphone:

• S230 microphone does not

  The built-in microphone is not / has not worked on my S230. I browsed all messages from diferent concerning problems of micro and tried the various suggestions by using the parameters of micropohne. I have turned off and reactivated the device to update to the latest version of the driver Reltek and still no luck. I proved that a headset/microphone pluged into the headphone jack works, but when the microphone does not work with Skype or other applications like Windows of its registration. Recogintion Windows speech does nor recognize the microphone. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  To me, this sounds like a problem where the microphone is that may not be connected properly or where the microphone itself does not work. Or the other scenarios will require repair. I would recommend support of Lenovo at 1-800-426-7378 call and a possibility of reparation.

  So, I try to activate the sound of material & sound-> Sound-> record, succeed in that, then try to test. And my microphone does not record anything yet (I have the latest drivers), it is a headset and it is not silent. I've reconfigured it, it didn't work.

  Did you change your computer before this problem?

  Try the following steps to cross check if the microphone is correct.

  a. Click Start, type mmsys.cpl in the search box and press ENTER.

  b. in the sound dialog box, click the recording tab.

  c. click Microphone, and then click Properties.

  Note: Make sure that the work appears under Microphone. If the job does not appear, click Microphone, and then click on set as default.

  d. in the properties of the Microphone dialog box, click the custom tab.

  e. turn on or off the amp Microphone check box.

  f. click the levels tab adjust the slider for the volume to the desired level and then click OK.

  g. click OK to close the sound dialog box.

  Hello! I got a Dell Inspiron MXC061 Windows Vista Home Premium laptop and recently, I figured out that the micro does not work... If I plug headphones the headphone is ok, but the MIC does not work... I already tried to use the headset in the other pc and it works well, so is not the break-in cover that has a problem... and I tried to check and adjust the microphone on the check of its menu - recording - microphone/line (Sigmatel High Definition Audio CODEC)--> is the only player that is on the menu for registration and it says work... I have already also check the properties - levels are already up... but when I try to set up and go to the speech recognition he can't hear me when I try to talk... I don't see the moving bar or the micro displacement level while I am speaking... If the microphone does not work Green right move?... • On board Toshiba microphone does not work do not under Windows.

  After resetting and windows set up Skype app will not force me to reinstall it from store, once done the microphone does not work.

  Impossible to identify all the audio options in windows 8, which could cut the microphone.

  Also my DVD stopped working, after you insert a disc, I get the message "Insert disc" and when you press on enter the disc ejects.

  Hey, I don't know exactly know what happened with my phone. Suddenly, my microphone work on LINE, Whatsapp and almost all other applications that use mic. Except, camera and when someone call me on my number.

  But it does not work on whatsapp and LINE calls. And it also does not work when I snapchat. Only works on the default camera Apps and call through my number.

  I tried:

  -restart my phone

  -hard reset and blink? Reset with the power and the "home" button.

  -read the micro support page. Still no solution.

  TL; Dr:

  my microphone does not work on every apps on my phone except calls through number and approx. of default camera it gives you just that silence when I play it on voice notes. But it works when I record yourself using videos on the default camera app.

  I see from your post, some applications have a problem to access your Microphone. I know how it is important to ensure that your applications have access to the Microphone and can use this feature. I have a few things I want to try.

  First, tap Settings on your iPhone and then scroll to the last section that lists your apps. Select the applications that use the microphone and make sure that the Microphone is activated (green).

  Then, follow the steps in the article below to close these applications:

  Force a nearby application on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

  Then, test the microphone in these applications again and see if it works.

  Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

  • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
  • Press and hold the Home button
  • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

  Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

  If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

  As a final step, try recovery mode. Turn off your unit, then plug it to your computer with the hold home button. Hold down Home button until you see the logo of iTunes on the screen of your device.
