• Help! Lesson with 2 branches of locking on the Quiz results screen when the learner (branch or another) fails.

  I have a lesson CP6, which is essentially two parallel branches, with only the following slides in common:

  • A slide 'welcome. '
  • A slide where the learner chooses its branch
  • A "Congratulations!"  "Slide you completed the test.
  • A slide "you not answered the questions correctly.

  Once the learner chooses its branch, it is given a 5 question test.   If he fails the exam, he is taken to a short lesson, specific to the content tested in this branch.   When he finished the lesson, he is returned to the test to try again.  If it fails, come back to the lesson, then back to the review, etc.  until it passes.  (I put max '10' under 'Préférences Quiz' tent)   When he passes, he is taken to the "Congratulations" slide and the end of the lesson.

  I put the last question in each branch to go to slide Quiz results (success or failure), and I put the Quiz preferences to access the slide of "Congratulations" so passing and for the "you not answered the questions correctly" drag if the learner does not.

  That's how it is supposed to work anyway.  And that's how it worked until I made a change somewhere and he mucked things.

  What happens is instead:

  • Testing (both branches) learner outcomes Quiz and 'Congratulations' slide takes very well.
  • Lack of test (or another branch) brings the learner to Quiz results and then gets stuck there.    (In fact, if I click on the "Continue" button a second time on the QR slide, the lesson does not always advance but disappear all the graphics, that I put on this slide, which is weird and not at all useful.)

  Branching seems ok for me.   What Miss me?

  

  I know I have to improve and we will be soon, but not before this lesson must be published - which is, of course, yesterday.

  Help?  Anyone?

  Figured it out.  A "required" on the page "Quiz: settings" value "necessary Pass - the user must pass the quiz to continue."  Who kept the learner continued beyond the "results of the Quiz" slide and a loop to the didactic content and taking the quiz.

  I changed "Required" "Required – the user must take the quiz to continue."   The learner is able to loop back/reading/retest as many times as necessary in order to pass the test.  All right.

  I use 6 Captivate with all updates.

  I have a long tutorial.  I wanted to put in place corrective measures, which means that the learner, when the quiz, you be reshipped to the slide with the answer, then returned to the question quiz that he or she missed.

  This should not be a problem.  However...

  That the learner progresses through the lesson (not the quiz section) the first time and gets the slide just after 'jump to the quiz', the slide seems to stop at first, showing initial content, but stopping.  He plays the audio and there is no additional information in the slide.  If you press play at the bottom of the course, it processes as usual.  What happens to all the slides when the restoration is requestion.

  Details: For each question in the quiz, I put 'Last attempt' to move to the slide.  The slide provides the correct information located on the course.  That's all what I changed to Quiz properties.  Let's we jump to slide 26.

  Slide 26, I click my button to continue.  Action, I change the option for "success" to "resume the quiz.

  Here is some of the best.  So when published or read, we come to slide 26 without problem.  As it processes to slide 27, is where it shows initial information at time 0, but does not continue, or audio plays.

  A test, I deleted all slide 27 except for audio, or other executives.  Not good.

  What is happening to the actions of all THE «back to the quiz»

  It shouldn't be rocket science.  But I'm totally stuck in the water.  If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?

  Well, I found the answer.  I was duplicating slides, and apparently it works well with return to element quiz.  Still don't know why, but when I created new landslides, sanitation, worked perfectly. Go figure. Hope this helps someone else out there who has a similar problem.

• Set quiz completion/score without actually taking the quiz?

  I saw here a discussion of custom quiz capabilities, which I do a quiz that has all the features I want for a particular project, that is fine.

  However, I did find a way to assign the completion status and/or the partition must be reported to the LMS, once the learner has managed the quiz to measure. Is this possible?

  Hello

  You do not need a variable, each button can have a score, like any interactive object. Go to the properties panel, accordion of Reporting, and there you can optionally change the score (default = 1 point) and don't forget to check the option "include in the questionnaire. In the view of Interaction advanced (F9 or project Menu), you can see the total score and the score of slides in question and interactive objects.

• Need help with the navigation of Captivate quiz

  Hi all

  I did a (very linear) e-Learning module. After every bit of learning, I put a quiz question option multiple choice to focus on learning. The problem I'm having, is that when I'm going through (response), the question, click back to return to the question (although grey - which is good), and then click back again (I have "allow back them' checked), I have the following problems: -.

  • By clicking on the "Continue" button on the front blade slide q, takes me to the slide after the question
  • Once the question has been answered, all buttons continue jump is no longer to the next slide, instead they just 'continue' - using the timeline.

  Is it possible to have the quiz items, touch them, good or bad responses etc on a normal slide instead of a question slide page. I don't mind if the user has to do again the question (if anything that this would be better) that I'm not making anything on the server of scorm.

  You can create your question slides, using the standard objects such as text captions, text entry boxes, buttons or click boxes, etc. slidelets.  If you use CP4 you can even use the possibility to insert system variables in text captions to show e.g. the score to the user. It will be more work, but you will have full control of these issues. Use of pools of questions is probably excluded in this case.

• Text input free answer to the quiz? (No answer correct set)

  Is it possible to have a free response, answer and did score in the quiz?  I want the text entry area must be presented in Moodle LMS, but do not want to have a defined response as correct.

  Each LMS is different in the way it handles or displays the SCORM data.

  Captivate modules, send just the data to the LMS SCORM.  What he does with it after that which is determined by the way that the LMS is designed.

  If you want to capture the view of the learner no correct or incorrect answers to validate, try using the questions in the survey.

• Creating conditional actions based on the results of the quiz

  I have a quiz at the end of my captivate file and I try to get to show different based on images if you have passed the quiz, or if you failed. For example if you pass, I want to show an image of the tick, and if you do not have an image of the cross, on the results slide.

  I tried to create this by implementing a conditional action. I put the two images on the slide and they hid. Then I have a conditional action value:

  When I play the quiz or image shows that I have success or failure (the quiz is set to a 70% pass - there are 10 questions, and all are worth 10 points)

  Each action must be triggered by 'something', which is an event. You must attach to an event, I suspect that the event on enter score slide is one that suits. Select the slide of score, look in the properties panel, tab Actions, perform actions on enter, choose the action.

  In addition, there is a difference between the system variable cpQuizInfoPointsscored and cpInfoPercentage. Personally, I would use the simpler cpQuizInfoPassFail:

  IF cpQuizInfoPassFail is equal to 1

• How to keep track of the answers of the quiz of the learner? cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice?

  I want to keep track of the responses of the learner throughout of a quiz, so that at the end of the quiz I can provide feedback on what topics need futher study (topics related to issues they are is wrong). I think that the system variable that contains this information is 'cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice', but how I call it for each of the individual issues? Help!

  You will need just to another variable of system: cpQuizInfoLastSlidePointScored and as cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice, it is a variable that changes its value after each slide of the question, you so need once again user variables to store and identify the score for each slide.

• Choice questions multiple question IS NOT part of the quiz?

  Another newbie question.

  I have a few multiple choice questions and some short answers that I want to work as an interaction, rather than be part of the project questionnaire. (I have a quiz 10 questions T/F, which is classified and a score of 80% is required.)

  So in other words, on the multiple choice answers and short, I don't have to reported responses - and more importantly, if a person fails the T/F test and resume, I don't want that they have ALSO take multiple choice and short answers.

  Is it possible to do this?

  I guess the short answer questions can only be implemented with text entry areas, Yes?

  But what about multiple choice questions? Any way to get them, but exclude to the quiz itself?

  I never use the default short answer question, not even when I want to be marked. Take a look at: Custom short answer Question - Captivate blog

  Use the radio buttons or checkboxes interactions, you can create a custom QUIZ question.

  You can also use the default QUIZ question, but indicate that the score should not be added to the total score. ATTENTION: some system quiz variables as the number of questions (used in the progress indicator) will always be count these questions. And will go to the first question, only added to the score or not. There is a solution for that as well.

• Only 2 of the four qs are the acknowledgement in the quiz... WHY?

  forget the score rating can be trigggered with what Everitt, is that it is bad, which only create ine or two questions appear, depending on how the slide feels!

  I had to check each answer assigned to each RB a submenu that is different if you want to, I don't know how callem. But the same thing was going on... So I decided to put all the right answers on the same whatever its called and labeled RB1-4

  Go to your project > advanced interaction screen and check objects in your project received a score of him report the quiz.

  You seem to be trying to get a score collected radio button widgets and declared for the quiz via advanced Actions.  It is not likely to work.

• Branching based on the results of the quiz

  In this quiz once users get their final score on the results page I need them to be branched to one of the three pages based on this score.  If there was an option of pass/fail this quiz, I could use that in the quiz preferences and make sure that work for my situation, however I have 3 levels of recommendations based on their scores.

  In this quiz, if the quiz results between 11 / 0 correct they need to be directed to page X, if they got 12-15 correct they need to be directed to the page, and if they got 16 correct they need to be realized until the page Z.

  If there a widget or something that can help with this or can I write a widget to help with this?  Any ideas would be great.

  I just create an example, always check the solutions. I have a quiz with a total score of 20 (you can also use percentages, but because you mentioned the points, I'll keep an absolute score), only default in this Quiz Question slides. I forgot to ask about this: hope, you have no other marked objects? In this case, the cpQuizInfoPointsscored system variable has the same value as the score indicated on the score slide and can be used in conditional action. Because it is not possible to trigger the action at the end of this slide to score, I inserted a short blade, labeled "Dummy" after the landslide of the partition, and trigger the action advanced to enter (or exit) this slide. The user will never see this slide if use you the entry.

  The action advanced, labeled Branching 3 decisions, mutually exclusive, one for the top, the middle and the low score. In this example, I scored the slides to create a branch with the same label that decisions: slides high, medium and low. In the screenshots you see 3 decisions, I never used the ELSE part, given that decisions are mutually exclusive. Try it!   PS, You need to provide something for users who have a rating lower than 12 so, I forgot to mention that, can be a 4th decision, better not to use the part of HERE. • Add a click box to the quiz results page

  I do a simple questionnaire, without entering into an LMS System.

  On the results page, I'd like to be able to show users their scores, then be able to give them recommendations on training based on this score.

  Something like, your score is between 0 and 20, please fill out this training.   I would like this training be a link to another site on the intranet, but I need to put a box click on the text to simulate a hyperlink.  The click box option is grayed out on the quiz results page, is there another way, a widget or something that could help me?

  It is not possible to any interactive object on the slide to Score, even to the question slides.

  You can emulate this slide of score by creating your own score slide, most of the numbers provided are available as system variables. Such a slide, you will be able to use a click box.

• SumTotal reporting complete when the quiz is broken

  I am using Captivate 3 and try to publish on SumTotal 8.2. The quiz has three pools with 10 questions randomly. I take the quiz and fail. The SumTotal results screen displays the message "you have completed the course" and mark also completed the course. I want to score incomplete if the test fails. I did a ton of research and tried every fix I found without success. I tried the SCORM 1.2 and 2004 with no luck. I tried to set the quiz to 0 and let the control of SumTotal pass mark. I am at a total loss and need help fast.

  Under the LMS is complete/incomplete or pass/fail. If you choose the first option, so it is normal that the assessment is claimed to be complete, if the user has answered all the questions. If you want a signal when the failure, you can choose the recording of pass/fail.

• Take the Quiz

  I have a project that has a quiz 5 question classified at the end with all the multiple choice questions. If a user does not pass the test, they are transmitted at the beginning of the quiz for a recovery until they pass. In CP4, if the user has failed and was sent at the beginning of the quiz, the quiz seems to be already taken and filled with answers. This was not the case with CP3... it has been reset and ready to be recovered. Is there a way to 'reset' a quiz for a resumption without having to refresh the entire browser to reload the project? Maybe there's another way to go about this?

  I have seen this issue before. You MUST go forward after a quiz is done. You can not jump back in case of failure. The solution to go forward to a temporary slide AFTER the quiz. Then add a message and continue a button that jumps at the beginning. If they pass, use GOTO, then a jump to the slide AFTER slide Quiz fail.

  Here's the order:
  Slide 1
  Slide 2
  Quiz series - failure Slide, pass go to END
  Slide fail
  End

  Parameters
  Allow 50 attempts
  The user MUST take quiz to continue

  SCORM requires a movement forward to score. I had a conversation pleasant email on this subject with the developers.

  There is a documented bug I have just covered (today) with the developers where the software will only take two jumps. Imagine a quiz, slides, a quiz, slides, slides, a quiz, END. In the Middle, it will not reset. they have my comp this for CP4.

• Size of the image in the quiz?

  I have pictures of 1028 x 768 and drop them as part of image in the quiz questions. A part of the image presented in the cross-slot and generally that it's Ok.   The resources below explains an option for your photos.  The mask tool will allow you to choose which part of the image you want to see the image.

  You can crop photos without changing the original image by masking the edges to hide the unwanted parts.

  1. Select the picture you want to hide.

  2. Do one of the following:

     • Hide the picture with a rectangle shape: click the button mask in the bar of the formats. If the format bar is not visible, choose View > show the Format bar.

       

     • Hide the picture with a form: choose Format > Image > mask with shape > shape.

  3. Do one of the following:

     • Resize the photo: drag the cursor over the button Edit mask.

     • Reposition the photo in the frame: drag the photo.

     • Move the mask: drag the edge of the mask dotted.

     • Resize the mask: drag the selection handles on the edge of the mask dotted. To constrain the proportions of the mask, hold down the SHIFT key when you drag.

     • Rotate the mask: hold down the command key when you drag a selection of angle on the master handle.

  4. When you are satisfied with the position and the size of your picture and the mask, do one of the following ways to complete:

     • Double-click the mask or the photo.

     • Press return.

     • Click outside the photo.

     • Click the input mask.

  To remove the mask of the photo, choose Format > Image > unmask.
