Take the Quiz

I have a project that has a quiz 5 question classified at the end with all the multiple choice questions. If a user does not pass the test, they are transmitted at the beginning of the quiz for a recovery until they pass. In CP4, if the user has failed and was sent at the beginning of the quiz, the quiz seems to be already taken and filled with answers. This was not the case with CP3... it has been reset and ready to be recovered. Is there a way to 'reset' a quiz for a resumption without having to refresh the entire browser to reload the project? Maybe there's another way to go about this?

TIA,

I have seen this issue before. You MUST go forward after a quiz is done. You can not jump back in case of failure. The solution to go forward to a temporary slide AFTER the quiz. Then add a message and continue a button that jumps at the beginning. If they pass, use GOTO, then a jump to the slide AFTER slide Quiz fail.

Here's the order:
Slide 1
Slide 2
Quiz series - failure Slide, pass go to END
Slide fail
End

Parameters
Allow 50 attempts
The user MUST take quiz to continue

SCORM requires a movement forward to score. I had a conversation pleasant email on this subject with the developers.

There is a documented bug I have just covered (today) with the developers where the software will only take two jumps. Imagine a quiz, slides, a quiz, slides, slides, a quiz, END. In the Middle, it will not reset. they have my comp this for CP4.

I hope this helps a little.

    Hello

My routes has quiz between teaching slides. There is a pass mark in order to pass the minimum course. When the user fails, they go to the slide of result with recovery test button. But they must examine all the slides after the first slide instead of question slides and quiz. How can I solve this problem? I use captivate 7.

    Thank you.

You will need some advanced actions (or shared). There is a variable system cpQuizInfoAttempts that is incremented when the recovery is click on the button, with the first slide in the question. The first time, it is set to 1. When it is greater than 1, the user is in recovery mode. At this time there the content slides should be ignored. Create a conditional action like this:

IF cpQuizInfoAttempts is greater than 1

    Jump to slide X

    ON THE OTHER

    Continue

If turn you this into a shared action, "slip X" will become a parameter.

You need to trigger this action shared with the event on enter the slide content, immediately after a slide of questionnaire (or a series of quiz slide). The parameter 'slide X' must be the slide with the question and should be modified based on which slide you have to jump from.

  • Send e-mail when someone takes the quiz

I have my quiz put in place so that the results are displayed in my internal server so I can use quiz monitor to access the results. Is there any way I can receive an e-mail when someone passes the test so I can't check the Analyzer quiz to see who did the test?

Captivate allows you to trigger an email via advanced Actions.  However, this best open a new email in the email client of the user with some default of the text of the object and your e-mail address.  You are still reliant on the user manually send this e-mail.  This makes it unreliable itself.

To get an automated e-mail, you must have access to the web programming skills to create a page server who sent an e-mail when it is called.  The Captivate course participant would then no conscience of enamel.

What you see is the behavior designed as in Captivate for the quiz.

Each Captivate movie has a range of "quiz", which starts with the first measurable purpose and ends at the Quiz results slide.  If you enter the scope of quiz by starting a slide of questionnaire, then jump back away from quiz, to return to the basics, default behavior of Captivate is to freeze the quiz at this time here.  Then when Captivate refers to allow movement to the rear, it is talking only a move backward in the quiz.

For example, if you get to question 1, but no answer and proceed to question 2 answer that we can go back to question 1, you will still be able to answer question 1.  The test will not be frozen.  However, if you had jumped to any slide before question 1, your quiz would have been frozen with everything that you mark had accumulated at this time here.

There may be a workaround that you can use to get closer to what you want.  As any object that is classified as part of the quiz, you can add a button on one of the first slides that the user must click to move forward.  Set the properties of this button (or click on the box) to report a score for the quiz.  What makes a part of the scope of quiz.  Now, any content slides falling after this slide button are also within easy reach of quiz and return to them will not have the same effect of freezing the quiz.

Please keep in mind another aspect of the quiz questions: If you answer a quiz question, and then move off the slide (forward or back) quiz question answer is frozen and cannot be modified unless resume you the Quiz or raise all of the module.

Hope this helps to clear up how things work.

  • How can I me button recovery to be displayed even if the user passes the quiz

    Hello

    Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, Captivate considers a successful attempt of the quiz at the end of the questionnaire and once State success is reached then the possibility to RESUME the QUIZ ceases to be available.  Your username should relaunch the lesson to try the quiz again.

  • Help! Lesson with 2 branches of locking on the Quiz results screen when the learner (branch or another) fails.

I have a lesson CP6, which is essentially two parallel branches, with only the following slides in common:

    • A slide 'welcome. '
    • A slide where the learner chooses its branch
    • A "Congratulations!"  "Slide you completed the test.
    • A slide "you not answered the questions correctly.

Once the learner chooses its branch, it is given a 5 question test.   If he fails the exam, he is taken to a short lesson, specific to the content tested in this branch.   When he finished the lesson, he is returned to the test to try again.  If it fails, come back to the lesson, then back to the review, etc.  until it passes.  (I put max '10' under 'Préférences Quiz' tent)   When he passes, he is taken to the "Congratulations" slide and the end of the lesson.

I put the last question in each branch to go to slide Quiz results (success or failure), and I put the Quiz preferences to access the slide of "Congratulations" so passing and for the "you not answered the questions correctly" drag if the learner does not.

That's how it is supposed to work anyway.  And that's how it worked until I made a change somewhere and he mucked things.

    What happens is instead:

    • Testing (both branches) learner outcomes Quiz and 'Congratulations' slide takes very well.
    • Lack of test (or another branch) brings the learner to Quiz results and then gets stuck there.    (In fact, if I click on the "Continue" button a second time on the QR slide, the lesson does not always advance but disappear all the graphics, that I put on this slide, which is weird and not at all useful.)

Branching seems ok for me.   What Miss me?

    Branch info_Urinalysis_V1.jpg

I know I have to improve and we will be soon, but not before this lesson must be published - which is, of course, yesterday.

    Help?  Anyone?

Figured it out.  A "required" on the page "Quiz: settings" value "necessary Pass - the user must pass the quiz to continue."  Who kept the learner continued beyond the "results of the Quiz" slide and a loop to the didactic content and taking the quiz.

I changed "Required" "Required – the user must take the quiz to continue."   The learner is able to loop back/reading/retest as many times as necessary in order to pass the test.  All right.

  • Reset the quiz

I'm trying to put up a quiz with features that I'm not sure is possible in Captivate (I use 5.5).

The student passes the test at the end of a lesson and has three opportunities to re - take the quiz. After the third attempt failed, I bring to a slide that invites them to look at the content of the lesson. A button on this slide back them to the first slide in the lesson. Is it possible to also reset the quiz so that they can re - take after having examined the lesson or they will have to disconnect from the lesson?

Once the student has exhausted their maximum allowed attempts, they need to revive the lesson in order to resume the game again.

  • After review of the Quiz 1 time the Retake that button disappears

Does anyone have a solution to make the Retake Quiz button appear after review of a quiz?

If you the quiz of reviews on you do not get the chance to take the Quiz.  Captivate was suggested (and I agree) that it would be cheating if a person could just a review Quiz, find the good answers and then resume the Quiz to spend with these answers.

Once you review Quiz, you must raise the lesson to try the quiz again.

  • The quiz settings: modification after the first attempt Action

    Hi all.

I'm creating a series of learning units, and each has a quiz at the end. I was asked to set up each unit so that the user gets two attempts to pass the test. If they fail on their first attempt, they go to the beginning of the unit to review additional documents. If they fail in their second attempt, an email gets automatically generated to the author of the series. Two options are available in the test configurations, but it seems to me that you cannot choose a different action on each attempt.

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Thanks in advance.

If they fail on their first attempt, I guess that you gave them the chance to take the Quiz by clicking on the button on the Quiz results slide.

When the student clicks on resume Quiz, it will return back to the first interactive object scored in the project.  This is the beginning of the scope of Quiz.  If you add a button or click on to the first slide of the project, you effectively extend the reach of Quiz so that the slide and the slide in which the learner is jumped to when they click on resume Quiz.  This behavior is usually something that confuses the Captivate newbie authors, but you can use it to your advantage in this case.

This button Retake Quiz will not present AFTER their first attempt, so the only option available after the second attempt will be revision quiz on (if you allow) or click on continue to go to the next slide after the Quiz results slide.

You can use the value in the cpQuizInfoAttempts of system variables in Actions Advanced conditional.  For example, you can create an advanced conditional Action that looks at the value of this variable and if it is greater than 1, perform the action to send an email.  You define this conditional Action advanced fire OnSlideEnter of the blade immediately AFTER the Quiz results slide.

Be aware that sending emails of Captivate is not a completely reliable method to get report that depends on a lot of things that are working properly and that are beyond your control.  For example mail client of the learner won't react to the mailto: event or learners themselves could not send the email (you can not automatically send an email to Captivate demeaned knowledge of the learner.)

  • SumTotal reporting complete when the quiz is broken

I am using Captivate 3 and try to publish on SumTotal 8.2. The quiz has three pools with 10 questions randomly. I take the quiz and fail. The SumTotal results screen displays the message "you have completed the course" and mark also completed the course. I want to score incomplete if the test fails. I did a ton of research and tried every fix I found without success. I tried the SCORM 1.2 and 2004 with no luck. I tried to set the quiz to 0 and let the control of SumTotal pass mark. I am at a total loss and need help fast.

    Hello

Under the LMS is complete/incomplete or pass/fail. If you choose the first option, so it is normal that the assessment is claimed to be complete, if the user has answered all the questions. If you want a signal when the failure, you can choose the recording of pass/fail.

    BTW, how many attempts allowed?

  • Captivate 8, why the back of sanitation to the quiz action take back me to the quiz when I want to just go to the next slide?

I use in my course on the user get a question wrong sanitation. This part works, however, when I want to just sail the course before taking the quiz, I'm back to the quiz before even I got to the course quiz section. It makes no sense to a user. Any one fixed this problem or there at - it

something wrong with the way in which the actions are configured?

Basically, when a user gets an answer wrong they click anywhere on the screen and is taken to a slide in the course of reviewing the information described in the quiz.

The user is then able to return to the quiz by clicking on the button continue.

    Help, please

    Winstonian

I think that indeed to be the reason. You will be in Quiz carried almost all the slides, and the capability to return to a question with the following button slide is certainly linked to the scope of Quiz. It was my first "intuition".

Most of the new features of quiz is designed with a case of use quite limited in mind. This is the case for all the, pre-test and remediation issues.  And it is often the team Adobe assumes that all questions on the test are set at the beginning of the file, all normal questions are set at the end of the file. And I'm perfectly aware that this is rarely the case for real projects. For this reason, personally, I would avoid these features in most of the projects. One that works very well as far as I KNOW is branch up-to-date, to create system variables Dynamics quiz. And in some cases, I really appreciate the rating partial and even sentence (too bad it is only limited to the MCQ type). I will often use workarounds for other features. More work, but more control.

  • How can I allow the user to take a quiz in the middle of it in Captivate 7?

    Hello Captivaters,

I want to the learner of a test until he could continue on the training of the force.  If it does not pass the test, he will have to go back and resume. "Recovery" button allows him to do this, but I really want to have 4-5 of these checkpoints 'quiz' in e-Learning - separated with presentation material - so the user proves that he understands the material before moving forward.

This is why I would create my own button "recovery" at the end of every "checkpoint quiz" that leads the learner to the first issue of this checkpoint (not to the first issue of training).  So far, I was able to create a button that appears after it receives a correct quantity to allow him to continue, and I want to create a button that appears and brings it to the first control point question if is nott get the correct amount and return to these questions.  The first part is easy, but I also need to add the function or reassign a variable to allow the user to resume the quiz. I hope I'm making sense... Any help would be appreciated!

    -Ryan

Your recovery button (s) will have an advanced standard action at least these two statements and in the following order:

    • Go to slide to score
    • Go to the question slide

Jumping to the slide of score and so that there are attempts to Quiz on the left, the next attempt will be launched (you can check if you put the system variable I was talking in a text container timed for the rest of the project). Then you jump to the slide where you want the user to return to the questions.

You may have to make it a conditional action advanced, if you want to first test the result?

  • iOS (mobile phone) video at quiz goes full screen, hiding the quiz slide

    Hi all.

I have a project that takes a single video and inserts periodic questions everything.

Everything works fine, except as seen on an iPhone, the video goes full screen - do not stay confined within the slide - so that when the video is paused and the quiz slide is displayed, the user must hit the 'output 'X' fullscreen' downstairs.

This could be a problem, because if I didn't know any better - I would have thought just locked video.

Is somehow I can have either remain within the confines of the slide, or automatically the output full screen?

    Thank you

Yes but it's kinda cheating... You would add the video as a video on its own page event. You create a page before it with a link to the video image. When clicked on, it goes to the next slide video what auto starts and is full screen. When reading over it auto returns to the previous page, giving the illusion of the IOS behavior.

    See you soon

  • Display a summary of the student responses to questions from the quiz on a slide

I tried to create a single slide that contains a summary of the responses of students to all the quiz questions by using the cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice system variable, custom variables and advanced actions. but failed. The main inhibitor this effort were the short-answer questions.

Is it possible (in a later version of Adobe Captivate) a new system variable can be added to the cpQuizInfoAnswerResponse called?

This variable could act similar to cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice but instead would encompass the real answer.

Adding this variable would make it possible for us to enter any answer to question multiple choice or short answer in a user variable that subsequently can be displayed on a slide later in the course.

I already know the feature of Captivate quiz review - I mean allows us to capture everything on a slide instead of using the review function.

If you want such a feature, do not post in this forum, but file a feature request, please.

    Feature request/Bug Report Form

As for the short answer question, please take a look at: Custom short answer Question - Captivate blog

If the LMS supports getting the values of the variables, the interaction of text scrolling is a valid alternative to the short answer question.

  • The user must pass the quiz to continue

    Captivate v5.5

If I create a quiz with a passing grade (80%) and set it to "Pass Required" - what exactly happens after answering the last question of the quiz and does not reach the required 80%?

A recovery button on the results screen that they click?

If there is a recovery button - where to take them - the departure of the quiz, or start or project or can I determine this?

    Thank you

    Don'tL

Recovery is that if you allow several attempts on Quiz level, has nothing to do with the pass required.

If the user fails, and exhaustion of attempts (little contradictory with mandatory Pass, I would fix Quiz attempts to many,) action "If lack of Grade" defined in Quiz preferences, success or failure, will be executed.
