  In the elements 13/13.1 first, you disable the program by going to Menu/Sign Out help a project open. Which disables the program. The same goes for the first items 12/12.1 and 14/14.1.

• Compatibility issue: need help disabling features - URGENT!

  I have a problem with running Pro Tools 8.0.4 THE on my HP Pavilion dv7, which meets a DAE-6006 error when loading Pro Tools. Research indicates that this error is for connecting firewire somehow, and I'm able to use Pro Tools on this system with a different interface (there as only two mic inputs) that allows me to connect via USB.

  Also, when I run ProTools via USB, it seems that I can't use the Quick Punch feature without a minimum of 10 seconds (usually much more) a delayed response after pressing the button reading or recording!

  I've been emailing latest Pro Tools support back and forth daily for 10 days now, and in the email, they said:

  "This could be a problem of incompatibility. HP Pavilion dv7 laptop computer has not been tested by our test team headquarters United States
  and not officially supported.

  As you have found by yourself, each before PC manufacturing installs their own features and (TV tuner) and the program in
  Operating system Windows, the motherboard and BIOS. They work differently for Pro Tools and sometimes conflict. This is why we cannot support these PCs, we have not tested.

  Please turn off all extra functions by HP from the BIOS. Please ask HP support how to. »

  Therefore, I request assistance with disabling all unnecessary services and process on my HP laptop. I guess the TV tuner is not a necessary service, but I have no idea on most of the others, and of course, I don't want to disable something that is necessary.

  If you could help me ASAP I would really, appreciate that I need to move to the record of any emergency! Thank you.

  This gives a shot:

  1. use the Windows search box in the toolbar to search for "HP Recovery Manager."

  2. right click on the HP Recovery Manager in the search results and click Open file location.

  3. in the file Explorer window, click once to select HP Recovery Manager, and then right-click and select Properties.

  4. in the shortcut tab, clear the entry in the field shortcut key . Now apparently it is Ctrl + Alt + R - clicking on the field and pressing the delete key should change the value None.

  It is possible to disable the Volume Shadow Copy Service using the Microsoft Management Console. However, you should not do this. VSS disabling negatively affect all software you are using that depends on, like Windows Server backup and system restore.
