  As far as I KNOW, QuickTime is part of the installation of OS X and cannot be downloaded separately. Only the windows versions are available for download.

  Apple does not read these forums, it is strictly a community of users.  That said, we will try to help you as best we can.  Start all, Cryptowall is ransomware and it is insidious.  It's called "ransomware" because it makes the victim to pay money to get their files/information returned for them.  It is very important that you do not give these people a dime.  NOT A PENNY.  There is no guarantee that the reception of 'payment', you will get your files back.  Do not make yourself victim twice.

  I couldn't find anything via Google on the deletion of this particular infection of Macs, just PCs.  The only thing that I keep seeing over and over again, however, is that it will be very difficult to undo the encryption on your files.  Did you do regular backups on a disk with Time Machine before that happened?  If you did, I would completely, you wipe the hard drive, going all the way back to the factory settings, and then restore your computer to a date before the infection occurred.

  Hi my name is Maria and I'm writing this message on behalf of my brother who is at his wit's end, and between us two we are not computer savvy.

  My brother who's had enough of company for many years email has now blocked e-mail account (four days and more).  To date, which (to me) seems to be a generic Windows Live response is that he has been blocked due to SPAM, but my brother is adamant that there is no problem with spam until that account has been blocked without any notification.

  Long story short, we both tried to provide all the necessary details, but does not, he is also asked for more DETAILS of billing, we are the two suspects, because he never had to provide credit card details to set up the email now blocked account.

  Last generated Windows Live response was to create a new Windows Live account, get a new e-mail account, but we are not sure how he will get her first email account is not blocked, and having him full access to his e-mails.

  I was wondering is it possible for someone real to communicate with my brother or myself for a walk through how to unlock the account.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Help! HD has been destroyed but LR realized were not

  I am reorganizing massively files on several players are preparing to move from a very old Mac Pro to a new Mac Pro. Somehow, the HD with all current raw photos has been reformatted, apparently by me. I myself will kick til the day that I die. Map of the camera had already been reformatted as a matter of routine. There was however a drive of 11/04/09 data backup, which means that everything was recovered except two shoots on 12/04/09 (316 photos). My boot drive and the LR (version 1.4.1) catalog on my startup disk is not damaged. My catalog settings LR specified a standard preview of 1440 pixels, medium quality, with automatic rejection of the 1:1 AFTER 30 DAYS previews. In my package of catalog Previews.lrdata (folder) ~/Pictures/Lightroom there are many, many files, some of them several MB in size.

  I know it will not be the same as my original raw files, is there a way to harvest the larger preview files, so I have at least something to show for my work on 4/12? These files, all seem to have an extension of ".lr - preview.noindex. I tried to open by force a little in the form of JPEG files with no luck. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you.

• Help!  Folder has been reorganized and lost color labels

  Hello.  I have a folder in LR has reorganized and lost all my color labels.  I had 3 shoots that I decided to organize under a main folder, then "sync" the LR5 folder.  Looks like I've lost all my changes (balance of whites, cropping, etc.) so that all my color labels.  I have all the RAW files saved, but my LR backup has not been done in about a week.  Please tell me that I have not lost all my changes and labels!

  If possible, I just move to where it was before. Move the files and load a backup of the catalog.

  Then start over and move the autour files in LR.

  If, during synchronization, you do not select this option to remove missing photos from the library, then you should always have pictures in the library, but with a '!' on each of the photos that have moved and a '?' on each file that has been deleted. This leaves the possibility of moving everything back into place with LR finder (!) or updated with the new location (right click...).

  If, during the synchronization, you have selected to remove missing photos of the library and also chose to import new photos, edits and labels are gone for good.

• It's time to install el capitan.  I have yosemite with the latest updates and I want to wait until the el capitan has been debugged before the upgrade.  I noticed a significant el capitan updated dec 8 2015.

  El Capitan: I upgraded a mid 2009 MacBook Pro about 2 months ago and have had problems since then. I usually wait a long time to upgrade to the new operating system, but it is my wife's laptop and not as critical that the machine I use for work so I've updated earlier against my rule for a long time to wait. Now I remember why I waited. I spent several hours trying to bugs, but nothing has worked so far. I had the hope that the update version 10.11.2 could solve these problems, but to no avail. I'll probably go back to the last backup with Yosemite. Some people have had success with El Capitan, but I've seen much info on problems with this updated online in my search for a solution for the MacBook Pro. If your computer is critical you I suggest you wait a while to update.

• HELP - a clip has been replaced by another of the same number

  A project is opened and I was searching for clips via the media browser. I clicked open an item in the source window and somehow, it replaced the element in the project. I do not know what information I should post so that you work out what I mean.

  The original project item was Clip0009.MXF and I merge with audio separated. I created the sequence in the timeline panel and made a massive change.

  Then I went to research, via the media browser for a cut on clip I've done another day. I opened it in the source window to have a quick glance (as my recordings of the camera. MXF files so I can't view them outside of the Prime Minister as you can the .mp4 clips) the clip I opened turns the same incised number Clip0009.MXF (recorded on another day) as the main element in project management. Unfortunately this camera starts from 000 each time I format the SD card.

  Some how the cutaway clip replaced the original clip in the timeline panel and I can't seem to be able to reverse the trend. Now, my project is slowed down after working hours. Norbert here, someone has any ideas bright.

  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!     There is no available Premier Pro consultants for help. THEY ARE CLOSED not happy Grrrrr thereon.

  The screen shot below shows where the original clip was replaced by the ring in the clip of Cup. The second shot I imported the original Clip0009 with the ute Tough Dog inside to show you the original with different screen for the cutting of ute white.

  

  

  Name change does nothing for the clip. So a rename/copy-to-here right do anything else than the copy in a directory and rename the files as shown in your preset.

  Transcoding pourrait ... but then, for ease of Assembly and all some of us are sometimes transcode to a "digital intermediate" quality codec (di). Which can actually be used for anything these days.

  Like Cineform YUV which is a 10-bit codec (your media is probably only 8, so that part is a bit exaggerated side) and is quite low on compression. The files are a bit a bit bigger than the camera stand normally, the quality is excellent. And as Jim Simon, another user here, says "this codec changes like butter through the CPU".

  Or say, DNxHD/R. choose a "flavor" which is the same-size/rate your media in a form of HQ and you will have everything your heart could desire in quality. In addition, he rereads and Cineform. You can now use the MXF wrapper for them in PrPro.

• Tired of JAVA problems and crashing... even supported SE6 used. Mozilla customer service tips to recharge were without help. Mozilla has been simpler.

  I asked this before. Told me to reload Foxfire... I did it. I also uninstalled JAVA 7 and installed SE 6; so I check my options of Mozilla and see that Java 7 is still a plugin, but inactive, but always there just the same. I suggested before that, there may be question of POGO.com , but which was not addressed in the answer. I'm not computer savvy, but can follow directions. The reason why I believe that it's a Java or Pogo.com site question is that the internet nor any other site ever crashes only Pogo.com. A lot, I would like to start my problems here because Mozilla is much more useful and easier to deal with. Games EA (Pogo) is impossible.

  I removed Java my system about a year due to the continuation of many, often very serious security issues with Java and their long list of unpatched security issues that they seem to have no interest in patching. I don't play games online and have found that not having it on my system causing me no problems with one of the many sites that I visit regularly.

  You missed the important part of Windows 8 and Java stressed in the 2nd paragraph (and the link) in my answer above.

• Help! Preferences has been removed

  Hi there, while on a support screen-sharing with Adobe yesterday, the agent removed ALL my adobe preferences in order to solve a problem. It turns out that the problem persisted even with the reset of the p-list and we have solved the problem in another way. But my problem is that I can't get these preferences old return - which had hours of custom presets and workspaces set in ALL of my CC apps. How can I get back them?

  These p-lists must be renamed (usually by deleting 'old').  you will probably need to remove the default value that was created before the change of your name.

  each program will have its own preferences and there are usually several files for each program.

  If you remember where he said 'old', you could search for the part of the file name.  or maybe just to look "old".

  also, here's the preference typical adobe of the locations of files (for flash cs6).   audit in the same directories should reveal the renowned preference files.
