help - flash player v6 standalone for mac OS 8.6?

desperately looking for standalone flash player v6 for mac OS 8.6. tried the flash player from adobe archived downloads section:

http://KB.Adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14266 & amp; sliceId = 2

theres a wide version 6, but installation installs only the browser, not the standalone player plugins. even if someone has a stand-alone drive of v6 they could zip and email me, I would be eternally grateful.

the release notes speak a standalone, but is not in the hqx file that the link give you.

http://www.Adobe.com/support/Flash/releasenotes/player/rn_6.html

What you trying to do? Mac8.6 is very old, as is the Flash 6 player.

ASFAIK, stand-alone players are usually not distributed. They are only included with the Flash authoring tool. Maybe it was different in 2001...

If you have a copy of Flash that works on Mac OS 8.6 (or maybe even OS 9) here's a tip that can help you. (Some of the names may be off a bit because of changes in the interface. I don't remember that far back!)

Open Flash.
Create a new Flash document.
Save it with a name such as "MyFlashPlayer".
Go to the file menu and select publishing options.
Check the box to publish a Mac projector.
Clear the publish to SWF box
Post your file.

You can now use the projector to open swf files.

Don't know if this will help, but it might. If not, let us know what you're trying to do.

  • Is Adobe Flash Player background Updater for Mac still available?

Hello, this is Adobe Flash Player background Updater for Mac available again?  We are terribly need this in our laboratories.

Yes, the background update should work on Mac.  I certainly see Akamai traffic indicates that the update of background on Mac is picking up installers.

Install the latest betaand be sure to select always allow Adobe to install the updates.

Also, you generally won't see an update until the browser restarts, because the plug-in running is still in memory.  If you run into this in an environment of automation, you regularly want to relaunch the browser.

If you're still not updated, I would like to do a complete uninstall and reinstall everything first.  If you're still stuck, let me know and I'll help you troubleshoot it with you.

    1. How can I find the version of Adobe Flash Player installed on my Mac?  I'm on OS 10.11.5 and Safari 9.1.1.
    2. How can I determine if I need to update Adobe Flash Player

There are several different methods to check which version is installed, two of them are:

    Option 1:

    • Go to System Preferences > Flash Player > Updates tab.  There are 2 variants of Flash Player on Mac, NPAPI for Safari and Firefox and PPAPI for opera and Chrome browsers, and both appear in the tab "Updates".
    • If Flash Player is installed the version installed is listed here.  If there is a version that is listed, click the check now button and Flash Player will check for an update.  If an update is available, a notification dialog box appears.
    • If there is not a version listed, Flash Player is not installed.  Click Install now to start the browser to the download page.  Download and install Flash Player.

    Option 2:

    • Launch the browser and go to https://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about.

      • If Flash Player is not installed, a "plugin missing" message appears when the Flash content should display.

        • Click on the "plugin missing" text and a window placard showing Flash Player is required poster.
        • Click more info to be directly to the download page to download and install Flash Player
      • If a previous version of Flash Player is detected and blocked by Safari, click on the "Outdated Flash" text and displays a windows Flash is obsolete screens.  Click on download Flash... button to be redirected to the download page to download and install the latest version.

  • Using my current ID and password I can connect to Adobe. When I try to download the upgrade to Flash Player they ask for ID and password. When I put in my class, it is rejected. What causes this and how can I fix it?

Using my current ID and password I can connect to Adobe. When I try to download the upgrade to Flash Player they ask for my ID and password. When I insert my current ID and password, it is rejected. How can I fix this problem? Is it a bad sign in a former ID, and/or an old password associated with Flash Player?

The password is provided by the operating system and is designed to protect you from accidentally install software.  You will get this prompt for any installation outside the context of the App Store.

If you do not need to enter a user name or password when you start your computer, you can probably just leave the password field empty when recognizing this prompt.

  • Firefox says need to update Adobe Flash, but Adobe Flash has no update for Mac OS 10.8.5. What should I do?

I have Mac OS 10.8.5. Firefox said no need to update Flash. Looks like Flash was last updated is 23.0.0.207. I have 23.0.0.185. Adobe does not have a Flash update for Mac OS 10.8.5, only for the OS 10.9 forward. What should I do? I would like to continue to use Firefox with success. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

There is a somewhat confusing thread on the Adobe on MacOS X 10.8.5 support forum:

"While we have abandoned support for OS X 10.8 did not block us installation on this version." Flash Player will install again. " https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2222384

Then... I think it makes sense to go to the page "other versions" and say you have a later version of Mac OS and try to install this way:

    https://get.Adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

    It work?

  • Last version of Flash Player installs on my Mac

I've been using Flash Player on my Mac with Safari for many years and I've never had a problem of update of Flash Player.  This time he always tells me to leave Safari and dashboard before he could continue.  The problem is that these two things are ALREADY stopped and not running.  It's bad enough I have to have the Flash Player (inflated) in the first place, but at least Flash Player should install without problems.  I've done many upgrades of Flash Player and he has never done this before.  Thanks for any help.

I feel your pain and have a solution that should work. I have had to deal with this for several weeks now, finally abandoned and wrapped a call with an engineer to Apple an hour or two it y a. discover, no matter what the o/s said you in Activity Monitor on Safari, dashboard or the two 'no' ongoing enforcement, these processes are actually called. It seems that, at least in my case, on an OS X update / Safari combo, and with the widget from The Weather Channel installed, you will never get the most recent update of Adobe Flash Player install. As soon as you remove the widget from The Weather Channel, the Adobe Flash update process will run again normally. It makes absolutely no sense, but I and the Apple engineer were able to reproduce the fix on my two systems and completely reproduce the problem and the fix on her. Not sure where rests the "blame" for the question, but I suspect that this is a problem with the widget from The Weather Channel - or at least how it interacts with the operating system and Safari. I suggest to check for any installed/Active widgets that grab/flow soft content via the web, remove and re - run the Flash update. I hope this helps. Just reply to let me know if this did the trick for you also.

And so you know if I want to watch videos or play games, I have to use google chrome, I hate because I don't know anything about.  Help

    Hello

For you help I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

    (1) what happens when you try to install Adobe Flash Player?

    (2) what happens when you try to play videos or play games using Facebook?

    (3) you get an error message / code?

    (4) outside of Facebook you are able to access other Internet sites without any problem?

    This could be due to the issue of complicity. I suggest you for the link and check if that helps;

    Method 1:

Videos won't play or Web pages do not display correctly

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Internet-Explorer/videos-Don ' t work #ie = ie-10-win-7

Warning: Reset the Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings.

    Method 2:

    Diagnosing basic problems with DirectX

If you have problems getting a game or movie to play properly, the DirectX Diagnostic tool can help you locate the source. DirectX is a set of technologies used by many of the multimedia programs in Windows.

Looked up the archives for the Flash version.  Tried to install.  Nothing has worked.  Not too tech savvy.  The operating system cannot be upgraded on the Mac, so that's what we have to work with.  Try to work with a program that will not open - just to get a blurred sign telling me that I need Flash.

    Hello

    1. Download the zip file http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_10.3.183.90_archive _mac_only.zip

      1. Most likely, it will download to your downloads directoyr
      2. Double-click the downloaded zip file to decompress
      3. Navigate directly in the newly created fp_10.3.183.90_archive_mac_only
      4. Navigate to the 10_3_r183_90 directory
      5. Double-click the file: flashplayer_10_3r183_90_mac_intel.dmg mound the dmg and display the Setup application
      6. Double-click the Install Adobe Flash Player.app icon to launch the installation program
      7. Follow the instructions to complete the installation

Note that most of the modern browsers will block this version of Flash Player because she is old and fragile.

  • Problem with Flash Player 10.3 on Mac Intel

    Hello

For the past few weeks I've had messages relating to the update to the latest version of Flash when you browse various site web videos-, but I downloaded the last version (my Mac Intel on 10.5.8 will work) a dozen times now, and every time the installation is completed successfully - but when browsing I still get messages that I need to update Flash Player... Oddly enough when suite Adobe uninstall procedure guidelines, the box which should show the version you're using is completely empty, but the 10.3 details appear in/library/internet plug-ins. It is a slightly different issue from what most people seem to have on this thread - the ideas of people, thank you.

    Hi Jeff,

Try to go in the Safari preferences panel, click on the tab security, then make sure 'Enable plug-ins' is checked.  Looks like Safari isn't able to load plugins if this page is empty.

It seems that you miss a required system library (/ System/Library/Frameworks/CoreWLAN.framework/Versions/A/CoreWLAN).  It's absolutely wrong.

You can try the following: after mounting the dmg of Flash Player, right-click on the icon "Install Adobe Flash Player" and select "view the contents of the package.  From there, go to the folder content / Resources and run the file named 'Adobe Flash Player.pkg.

  • Activation of Flash CS3 in Parallels for Mac Win

I went from Windows XP, Mac OS and use my apps Windows Windows XP on Parallels Desktop for Mac. Now, I want to use my Flash CS3 update for Win in Parallels. Are there problems to activate the software? Is there a risk of losing the activation? I ve red that normally the activation token is written on a part of the hard drive, which is not used by file systems, so that the formatting of the hard drive may not remove activation. But what happens in VM, because the VM knows only the file system and nothing more on the hard drive?

If you perform a giveback of license on the Windows machine (assuming that you previously had installed CS3) then you should have no problem installing on parallels. (On the side of the PC, it is help > activate)

If you have already let down the PC then phone service customer and they should be able to ensure that your installation on the side of mac has no problem.
