Help! My Windows Vista is not from...

I have a HP Touchsmart IQ504 with Windows Vista Home Premium system. Yesterday morning, out of the blue, I had a message waiting for saying me a Word, "Windows could not start, perhaps due to a new hardware or installation," but the last thing saved on my computer has been a new update for Windows Sunday late into the night.

After you run a diagnostic test, the only thing that failed was the memory - error code: Biome-1

I don't know if it's the real hardware or Windows which is at the origin of the problem, but that ideas would be appreciated since I'm leaving 30 days my warranty :(

Hi Kklank,

  • You're able to boot in safe mode?

Let us try the following methods.

Method 1: System Restore

Since the issue began yesterday you, try to perform a system restore.

Safe mode system restore (if you're able to boot in safe mode)

Start in safe mode.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

System restore
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

If you are not able to start in safe mode, try Method 2.

Method 2 : Startup Repair

Startup Repair is a Windows Vista recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged that may prevent Windows from starting correctly. When you run the Startup Repair, it scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so that your computer can start correctly.

Startup Repair is located in the System Recovery Options menu, which is located on the Windows Vista installation disc. If your computer manufacturer has preinstalled the recovery options, Startup Repair can also be installed on your hard drive. If your computer does not have the Startup Repair, your computer manufacturer can have customized or replaced the tool. See the documentation provided with your computer or go to the manufacturer's Web site.

Please see the following site for more information on using Startup Repair:

http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/5c59f8c1-b0d1-4F1A-AF55-74f3922f3f351033.mspx#ex

1. Insert the installation disc.

2. restart your computer.

3. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings.

4. choose your language settings, and then click on Next.

5. click on repair your computer.

6. Select the operating system you want to repair and then click Next.

7. in the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair can invite you to make choices as it tries to solve the problem, and if necessary, it may restart your computer, because it makes the repairs.

  • HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z Wireless connection print Windows Vista, but not from Windows 7

Printer HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z seems to be connected to my Dell laptop with Windows 7 on HP Solution Center page, but does not print. Documents just get stuck in QC. It was printing then it wasn't so that's when it wasn't. The printer works when I print from a laptop more old Vista. The last time this happened, I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software and that doesn't seem to help. Then, for some inexplicable reason, impression began to work. It has now stopped working again. I can scan the Windows 7 laptop but not print. I tried all the troubleshooting tools that I could find without success. Thanks for trying to help.

    Hello-

It could be caused by a couple of things:

    1. firewall on PC or router.

2 interference (microwave, cordless phone base @ 2.4 Ghz)

    3 distance from router

    4 corrupted printer driver.

Turn off the firewall you have and you move anything that can cause interference to router.

If none of the above solves the problem, I'll have to install a different printer driver.

    Click Start.

    Go to devices and printers.

    Click Add a printer.

Add a local printer. Create a new Port, then choose "Standard TCP/IP port.

    Click Next.

TypeRegeditdans in the box 192.168.1.12 IP address or host name. (uncheck the box 'Interrogate the printer')

    Click Next.

When the printer list opens, click windows update. (it takes a few minutes)

After the box appears, choose HP (not Hewlett Packard) on the left and choose "Deskjet 990c" on the right.

Click Next, the default value and end.

Try to print using the printer Deskjet 990c.

    This is the Information from Microsoft on the problems of passwords;

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.

If the above does not fix it:

Here are the different methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    Hi scoobydoochick,

    1. what recovery disc do you have?

    2. you receive an error message?

    3. you see the computer manufacturer's logo while you start the computer?

Looks like that there are some hardware failure on the computer that is preventing the computer from starting.

Will need you a Windows vista installation disc as recovery are different from the install disc and restore disks are created by the computer manufacturer, we are not aware of its functions.

Once you get the Windows vista installation disc, that you try startup repair by using the link below or take the local computer tech shop and the material tested on the computer.

  • Windows Vista does not run

Windows Vista will not run unless I chose the option "disable driver signing enforcement" as he cannot verify the digital signature of the file "\windows\system32\drivers\tcpip.sys".

    Hello

Which shows the file properties in the tab digital signatures? Is there a previous version on this tab? Basically, if it cannot verify the signature, the file may be damaged or has been replaced by an incorrect version.

You may want to run sfc/scannow from a high command prompt to validate all system files.

  • Printer Dell AIO 944 installed with my laptop Compaq (Windows Vista) will not be printed.

I had an old Compaq Office of four years who developed problems that would cost me more trouble that it's worth.  I had been printing it to a Dell 944, which I then installed in a new laptop Compaq with Windows Vista.  The installation seems to have been systematic and successful, but I can't get the Dell print.  The message I get is "Incorrect Port detected.  The current print job has been cancelled.  This printer is designed to work with USB cables only.  The current software setting is not set to USB port.  Make sure you use a USB cable (and) the printer are set to a USB port. "I followed the instructions to set the USB port, and it seems that the port is, in fact, enabled.  I know that USB cable works, because he worked with the old desktop computer.

    Hi jwfinnashville,

According to the Dell website, this can happen if the printer drivers are not installed properly.

On the Dell site, they suggest to install a fix to uninstall all the drivers printer completely from the computer, then restart the computer and then reinstall drivers from the Dell website and check out them.

Download the patch here to remove all printer drivers

Then download the printer drivers for Windows vista 32 bit from link here and check
