If I lose my windows vista opearating systems, must I pay to get a new
Operating systems
If I lose my windows vista opearating systems, what do I have to pay to get a new one or my manufacturer should be able to send me a copy of what I bought originally?
Hello
do not buy new vista for this computer
and Yes; the manufacturers will send you recovery disks
Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista
Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought
you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer
Ask them of the exact key sequence
or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Does anyone have experiences with Windows Vista on a Satellite M40-129?
Hello
does anyone have experiences with Windows Vista (Business) on an M40-129? Any suggestions on the proper drivers and advice are welcome.Best regards
SaschaHello
I have an owner of the M40 motorway m but I didn t install Vista on my laptop.
Why? good Vista needs a lot more material resources like the XP.
In addition many additional applications that are running on my system are not compatible with Vista.
Last but not lease I didn t find the drivers of Toshiba for the M40 on the Web site.I think that the drivers Vista missing on the page is not a problem serious because important factors as driver graph, sound driver, lan and Wlan driver can be downloaded from the website of chip manufacturing.
Anyway, if you want to install Vista on your M40 I would create an additional partition and install the OS on the second partition.
In this case, you can use the two BONES; XP and Vista. To my knowledge the Vista installs a clean boot manager and it should be very easy to switch between XP and Vista.
Best regards
Good bye

Hi, I have re-installed Windows Vista on my laptop (dell insparon) 1525 and now my wireless does not work. ive tried re installing driver, but it says operating system not supported. I used the disc that came with the computer of the re install and I even tried to install service pack 1. .
original title: Wireless problems after install.I just tried both, the dell is one that says OS not supported"and the intel, it went very well, but my 'network controller' still have a yellow top thing in Device Manager. and I always wireless. any other ideas? Thank you for the help
Question... You have whatever it is listed in the "Network adapters" section of "Device Manager" now?
While ensuring that the exclamation point is not for your wired network device (plausible) or bluetooth (plausible) and you just need to configure your wireless network to connect to * your * wireless network now.
You may have to contact Dell to see why none of their drivers receive your wireless device works on the original operating system, what they included. This could be a hardware problem PURE.

A manufacturer of recovery disc is designed for a particular brand and computer model; they are not interchangeable.
Here is the link to order the Acer recovery disks:
And if the Acer never included a drive to purchase, you should have a recovery Partition on your hard disk to reinstall Vista to how it was when new.
With an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the process of recovery back to new condition.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit and I get this pop windows window advising me "TCP/IP Ping command has stopped working". I click on "check online for a solution", but there is no charge and disappear. I still have the problem, and it's very irritating. How can I remedy outside junking my Tower and buy another? Thanks for any help on this.
Hello
1 did you change on your computer before this problem?
2. when exactly you receive error message?
You can follow the methods and see if it helps.
Method 1
Use the PING command to verify that TCP/IP is working properly. To do this, ping the loopback address (127.0.0.1) by typing the following command at a command prompt:
(a) click Start .
(b) in the search box type command prompt.
(c) right-click and select run as administrator of .
(d) type ping 127.0.0.1 and ENTRY.
If you receive the response of 127.0.0.1, it means that TCP/IP is configured correctly.Method 2
Check to see if the problem exists in safe mode with network.Start your computer in safe mode
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-modeMethod 3:
Alternatively, you can try to reset TCP/IP and then check if it helps:
How to reset the Protocol Internet (TCP/IP)

I also suggest you to download and run the latest Microsoft Scanner on your computer and check to see if it helps:

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

the question.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

I bought my computer in January Circuit City and as part of the purchase, they installed windows vista and other programs such as Norton Internet Security. Recently, my system has been "acting" and the folks at Symantec tell me I can get a worm who slipped in front of the protections. Because this worm was now hidden from detection and very probably damaged my registry files, they suggested I have reformat my system and reinstall all of the BONE upward. I searched through the discs that I got with my pc and I have everything EXCEPT the OS! Whats is worse because their people installed, I have the product identification code, but I think that there is another code for validation that I did not. Circuit City is out of business now and I don't know what to do. I know that my currently installed copy of vista is genuine, but what I need to know is that if there is a way I can reinstall vista on my pc without having to buy another copy?
Hi lxlthr,
Please use the forum for Support of Vista,
Please check under your laptop or your desktop to locate a sticker with the product key for Windows Vista. If they exist, you can probably use another copy of Vista to install, without making a purchase, a new product key. If they are not located on this computer or anywhere you can find, then you need to get a different product key to reinstall the operating system.
Note: Formatting the hard drive will erase all data, programs and user settings you have on the computer. If there is no information on this computer and you don't want to lose, or is not guaranteed, you will need to make backups before proceeding with the INSTALLATION of FORMAT / CLEAN.
Hope this helps,
Kevin

I mistakely installed windows vista on my acer lab to can I do?
I mistakely installed an old windows vista on my acer labtop
Hello
Reinstall the original operating system again.
Either boot from the Acer recovery disk and reinstall the operating system for any operating system you had installed or use the Recovery of Acer partition for purpose to reinstall, IF you don't the have not erased by the Vista installation.
For an Acer at startup, press the ALT LEFT + F10 to start the recovery process.
And if you don't have a recovery partition or a drive:
You can contact your Acer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
