  I have vista Home premium and cannot access my administrator account because of a change in software that has sometimes happened mid-2012. I now get a pop-up, called a "password reset Wizard" which requires passwords to backup on a disk. This obligation did not exist in the past and I need to know how to solve this problem. I can't update my computer without access to the administrator account.

• URGENT HELP about password reset

  Hello Lenovo community,

  I currently own a Lenovo x230t that I bought recently second hand Kijiji, and it still has warranty until mid September 2014.

  I have a problem very stupid that drives me crazy but also desperate. I can't enter my password correctly, even if during the factory setting, I typed my password correctly / confirmed it. I tried to enter my regular password in different ways, but no cigar. Now, I'm not sure what to do.

  Problems

  1. This is my only account other than homeusergroup when I try to make a backup of recovery and in order to enter the recovery mode, I need to know the password.

  2. I don't know how to boot from USB in Setup because there is no 'Boot from USB' option, which limits a way to reset my password.

  3. If someone did before warranty service, what references do you need? (ie. the receipt (original owner has it), ID?)

  4. don't guarantee services help to unlock/solve my password locking?

  5. How can I reset my password with the current limitations?

  In general, the forum does not allow discussions about security bypass. There are many kinds of passwords, and I can't tell who you're talking to.

  1. Power-on password. (the display shows a black screen with a padlock icon).
  
  
  2. \Disk password (such as walking, but a second drive with a '1' icon in there).
  
  
  3. Supervisor password (only lock icon when you try to enter the BIOS).
  
  
  4. Windows password.
