• Help, please! CHKDSK stuck at step 4 of 5-6% for more than 90 minutes. If it is frozen? What can I do?

  Not very intuitive with the hard disks, disks, partitions, etc.  A friend told me I should be defragging my computer frequently to help it work better.  Then, I looked at steps to defragment and learned to run chkdsk first before you defragment.  I clicked on properties, tools, scheduled chkdsk for my C drive, checked the boxes ("automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors") and rebooted my computer to run the chkdsk command.

  Here is what my screen said during the last 90 minutes:

  The type of the file system is NTFS.
  volume label is PRESARIO.

  A disk check has been programmed. Windows will now check the disk.

  CHKDSK checks the files (stage 1 of 5)
  (deleted and corrupted files verification of such complete record)
  CHKDSK is checking the indexes (stage 2 of 5)
  (same as step 1... full check)
  CHKDSK is recovering lost files
  CHKDSK checks the security descriptors (stage 3 of 5)
  Security descriptor complete check.
  CHKDSK checks Usn Journal
  Audit of the USN Journal is complete.
  CHKDSK is verifying file data (stage 4 of 5)
  6 percent completed.

  I guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.

  If he has problems with the update or the permissions then simpler is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a clean install of the new version.

  I just finished my first Muse site for a client and made live for everyone to see. I double and triple checked everything and it looked fine on my computer (Google Chrome browser, but on a Mac). However, when my client saw it, he said there was a huge mistake - the text of the navigation bar has been cut in half!

  I asked my boyfriend to go to the site on his computer... also a Windows and on Google Chrome. Same question. However, when he went on the site of Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, it works wonders for him.

  How can I solve this? According to Google Analytics, most of our customers use the internet browser Chrome... and the site is already online and people visit it (ah!).

  EDIT: according to my mother, it does not work on his computer and neither Firefox or Google. So I do not know how this bug of functions.

  I see that the problem is with the font that you used in the navigation, a bubbler. I'll have to discuss with the team of devs. In the meantime, solution faster that I can suggest is to use a different font on the navigation.

  I'm trying to understand why v3 SQL Developer takes so long to load up.
  I've searched the forums and made a few tweaks, but still takes forever (~ 5 minutes!)
  
  1 changed in appearance Windows
  2 disabled all extensions
  3. confirm that the "update automatically" is disabled
  
  Anything else I need to do? So most of the actions I take are really very slow.
  One thing I think that maybe that causes are that in TNS network file is huge... but I guess that it would be a success if I try to add a connection.
  
  Any help would be appreciated, because for now, it is not a usable software piece...

  I make a set of those I really need (or even no) and place this file in a different directory, and then point to that one in preferences - - Advanced - Database Directory Tnsnames.

  Currently, three servers of ESX4. Two months ago, a loss of power and of the restart. Server #1 initialization until the connection to the console without problem. Unable to connect to the server using client vshpere immediately. After 20 minutes, the vsphere client connections began to work.

  Although nothing of him until the #3 server went down today and restarting system apparently came to the console ok, but took 40 minutes before I could connect to it with vsphere client!   Y at - it something stupid I'm missing here? I have not tweaked these boxes, plenty of stock and NO settings have changed since its installation. They never used to take this long!

  I recently got a new computer with a SSD 840 Samsung Pro, processor i5 3570 k, ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Mobo, Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 RAM; When I started windows 7, he ran fast and getting started fast.   Can anyone help please? I am a user of Windows Live Mail for a long time, but I am disappointed with their product, because it crashes regularly and recently wiped a lot of messages, so, after having heard great reports, I think that the time has come to try Thunderbird.   I know how to move e-mail messages in Thunderbird, but is it also possible to move my accounts and their settings from Windows Live Mail to Thunderbird without having to configure each new individually please? The Import Wizard appears to count it is possible, but has nothing more after "import options, account settings, address book, filters and other data of:" even after a click on the next button. I installed the import/export addon, but always without success. Is it indeed possible please?

  Also, is it possible to install the views 'fast' section that WLM has on Thunderbird, which was allowed to see all read mail from each account in one place please? This a really useful feature and I want to keep if possible.

  Import of account to Windows live mail never made Thunderbird... partially because there is little demand, and partly because Microsoft not to change.

  However if your accounts are with the largest suppliers outlook.com, hotmail, yahoo etc. or the large national ISPS and then set up your account is probably as simple as enter the e-mail address and the password. (There are often problems with poorly reported passwords. It is anti virus firewall clutter it and an adjustment for the firewall to allow the Thunderbird gets things on track)

  Symptoms: Booted computer, loaded the raid drivers and showed at the start screen XP for half a second then to BSOD with a Stop error Code 0x0000007E - see also a lot of users (0xC0000001D, 0 x-, etc.) as well.

  Solution:

  1 boot from your Windows XP CD and start the recovery console. You may need to press F6 while RC loads in order to load the SATA drivers. you will have a prompt c:\WINDOWS to the console.

  2. type: CD $NtUninstallKB977165$ \spuninst (it's the update, I had to uninstall to get out of the boot loop, other updates can be uninstalled by changing the name of the directory to $NtUninstallKBCODE$, where KBCODE is the code KB)

  3. type: BATCH spuninst.txt

  4. type: exit

  Don't forget to configure your system to boot from the HD before resuming. I hope this helps. Saved me a lot of hassle today.
