Help, please! I don't know what went wrong.

I'm working on a file that contains text and vector images. My computer started acted very slow so I decided to save the file and restart my computer. When I re-opened the Illustrator file, everything was black like it (see photo). Help! I have no idea how to get back to the original file. I know that I have never selected contours.
