  • No access to the Admin account

I have recently reinstalled Windows and I screw up the user names. This is what is stated in the users folder. All users, default user, Default (hidden), longsorr (grayed out), Public (grayed out), UpdatusUser. It should be default user, D..., my guests. When I was asked for the username during installation I gave longsorrow, thinking he was talking about the computer, time of elderly people. I tried to fix this and now got D... longsorrow. I also I created my guests and that is not the case on the list. Finally, I normally mode without fail get computers Admin user account and my account, what has not happened. Only the accounts show where d... and my guests. (Oddly, my guests is on the front line and not my user account.)

Is there a way to fix this mess? I read Fix-a-corrupted - user profile and a guide for the recovery of lost password Windows 7 Home Premium user account, impossible to connect, connection problem. The problem is that I don't have access to the Admin account. Please do not suggest to reinstall Windows for the 4th time. :)

    Hi kuentin,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    (1) - what do you mean you have only 1 user account?

When you set up Windows, you will need to create a user account. This account is an administrator account to allow you to set up your computer and install any programs that you want to use. And that's why the user account you are using is the administrator account.

There is no way that you can create an administrator account, or by using a Standard account.

    (2) are you having issues during installation of the software or opening it?

    (3) what exactly happens when you try to open the software application?

    (4) should be codes error or error messages, if any?

    (5) what software are you trying to install or open?

I suggest you go to the link below and read for more information on user accounts.

  • A technician had me create a new admin account now my original CD is missing, I need help

A technician of a software company had me create a new admin user account to install a pesky software package. Now I can't see my original admin account. I need this back, I really don't want to have to put everything in place from scratch. Help please.

You were probably using the built-in account named "Administrator".  This account is not intended for use on a daily basis, but as an emergency backup.  If you use it every day, you run the risk of corruption - and might be stuck without a viable account with administrator rights.  For this reason, Windows XP automatically removes 'Administrator' from the home screen as soon as another account was created.

You can always get the account administrator as follows:

If you have XP Home, restart the computer Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key immediately after powering the completion test.  If you see the Windows logo, you waited for a long time to start tapping and you have to start over.  Once Windows starts in Mode safe, you will see the administrator account on the Welcome screen.

If you have XP Pro, you can use Mode safe mode as above or, with no other connected user welcome screen, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE.  The 'classic' logon screen appears.  Type administrator as the user name and any password assigned you.  The default password is blank (no password).

However, I strongly suggest that you stop using the account "administrator."  You can copy the preferences, appearance and the documents of the original ' administrator' account to the new one that you have created (although you will need to temporarily create another account with "computer administrator" privileges to make the copy).  For instructions, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151 simply treat the administrator account of origin as "corrupt" account referenced in the article.

  • Created 2 standard user accounts and now the admin account is inaccessible. How to access my administrator account?

I have Vista Edition Home Premium.  I got the account administrator and only called 'everyday', which were both available on the Welcome screen.  I was usually you log in to the admin account for my daily use of the computer, but realized that it was a bad idea.  I created a new account, he made an admin account and called "administration".  I changed then the administrator account, I had used so far for a standard account and named it 'everyday', which makes the account would connect you to our daily use.  Finally, I created a new standard account called 'secondary' for my husband to use.

Now, when I turn on the computer, only accounts that I am able to connect in the Welcome screen are 'everyday' and 'secondary '.  I tried to find articles that would already be answering my question, but good solutions I've seen do not work or are not completely suitable for my situation.  I know the administrator account exists, I don't know how to connect to it.  How can I access my administrator account now?  Things like system restore and cmd / 'run as administrator' failure because I don't have privileges admin so I can't even begin to perform these tasks.

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Help! Cannot return to admin account

I'm running Windows 7 on a HP Pavilion g6. Somehow, my account went under standard user administration. I can't change this back. I tried a few different things without success. I tried to go through the cmd.exe using net user administrator / active: yes when logged in my profile. Did not work. Can not change via Control Panel (even though I used to, now I can't). I tried going through the local users and groups and well, can't find it. It is not listed under Computer Management (Control Panel > administrative tools > computer management). Had to do a search for secpol.msc, because it is not come immediately. I tried to open that and got an error strange message that something could not load. Looking now it gives nothing. It comes to MY computer, I always had administrator rights. Could the fact that I have blocked Web sites on my profile through familysafety.microsoft.com have had an impact on it? What else can I do to get the admin restored to my user account? I'm NOT a geek, but I'm not meaning well enough, as long as they are clear (help of screenshots). Help please!

    Here you go:

    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. select Repair from the menu.
    3. Select an administrator account, and then enter its password.
    4. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    5. set Windows to a point before this problem occurred.
6 plan ahead a little and create, test and document a spare, even admin account that you have a spare House key. Have a single administrator account is high-risk stuff.

  • Cannot connect to admin account (the user profile Service failed)

    Hi all
When I try to access my admin account, well I typed my password, BUT this message appears:

    User profile service failed
    User profile cannot be loaded

I can get my guest very well account, but can not use my admin... anything that can help please!
Anyone who can help would be great

This problem may occur if the user profile folder is deleted manually. A profile that is manually deleted does not remove the security identifier (SID) of the list of profiles in the registry. If the SID is present, Windows will try to load the profile by using the ProfileImagePath that points to a nonexistent path. Therefore, the profile cannot be loaded. There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
    • Use the password indicator (only works if an indicator was created and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
