Pavilion G7: User Admin account?

I am running Windows 8.1

I have 2 user accounts Admin on my laptop.  One of them is a local account that I use all the time and it works very well.

The 2nd Admin user account is linked to my grandsons Microsoft hotmail account as it requires their email address as username and a password to go beyond the lock screen before returning to the start screen. This use of the computer to be on him but he is no longer wanted him.

My question is this:

It's OK and safe to just delete the Administrator Microsoft hotmail account that I and my grandson will never use it again?

This should not cause problems for my grandson Microsoft hotmail account should, because it still uses this account for his emails on his Tablet?

IF you go to control panel-> user accounts and delete the account of another, which will not affect the account on other machines, just on this one.

Good luck

  • No access to the Admin account

I have recently reinstalled Windows and I screw up the user names. This is what is stated in the users folder. All users, default user, Default (hidden), longsorr (grayed out), Public (grayed out), UpdatusUser. It should be default user, D..., my guests. When I was asked for the username during installation I gave longsorrow, thinking he was talking about the computer, time of elderly people. I tried to fix this and now got D... longsorrow. I also I created my guests and that is not the case on the list. Finally, I normally mode without fail get computers Admin user account and my account, what has not happened. Only the accounts show where d... and my guests. (Oddly, my guests is on the front line and not my user account.)

Is there a way to fix this mess? The problem is that I don't have access to the Admin account. Please do not suggest to reinstall Windows for the 4th time. :)

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

    2. What account admin appear on the logon screen after you start the computer in safe mode?

I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue.

I suggest you to enable the built-in Administrator account of the prompt in Windows recovery environment (WinRE) and then try to organize your user accounts. Please follow the steps in this article to access the Windows recovery environment.

Subsequently, you can follow these steps:

    a. click on command prompt in WinRE.

    b. type the following command at the command prompt and press ENTER.

  • cannot access the files of another user with the admin account

I'm on a computer with Windows Vista 64-bit home problems.
I normally have the computer configured to connect automatically to a non privileged user and rarely use the admin account.
Recently, I downloaded an update (Finally, more like a relocation to the latest version) and realized that I need the admin account to install properly for all users that UAC would make things a royal PITA with a zillion prompts.

I quickly disconnected and logged in as admin. Then, I realized that the installation file has been stored in the "downloads" folder in my regular account.
Worse still, I could not access this folder, or I couldn't tab of future security. All I could do was to 'change the property' to my admin account, but I really didn't block me on these issues. Even from Explorer using "run as administrator" gave me problems, although the DIR command in cmd.com would be the list of people.

I used the "change user" function to log my account regular and checked the Security tab and saw that the "Administrators" Group had already read and checked 'total control '. Why can't access the admin account? As an admin with XP, I had free access to everything I wanted to leave that I wanted.

What happens if I was a parent and wanted to check to make sure that my child was not software piracy or download illegal music that would get stuck with the fines because I'm his guardian? How would I go about checking his records?

What happens if I was an employer at a small office using working groups and wanted to ensure that the employee was not downloading pornography?

How can I use the powers of the administrator to access other files (regular) user?
Why do I still need to ask this question? It was automatic under NT, 2000, XP and the various servers at least as high as 2003.

I found the problem, it was ANOTHER problem with Norton Security Suite for Comcast.

It's especially recommendation for an earlier version of Windows (e.g. Windows XP), this time because he was not User Account Control and when you log in as an administrator you have full administrator right. In Windows Vista and later Windows, User Account Control (UAC) was introduced and when you sign in as an administrator, your applications run with privilege less than the default Administrator and when your applications need administrator permissions, you will see a message and you could great permission and when you want to run the application as an administrator, you can right click and run as administrator.

With this improvement you could log on as an administrator, but your general tasks are performed with privilege less than the default administrator.

Therefore, you will not need additional account for this purpose and you just have to make sure that your UAC is on and you can check this by consulting the Windows Security Center.

  • Created 2 standard user accounts and now the admin account is inaccessible. How to access my administrator account?

I have Vista Edition Home Premium.  I got the account administrator and only called 'everyday', which were both available on the Welcome screen.  I was usually you log in to the admin account for my daily use of the computer, but realized that it was a bad idea.  I created a new account, he made an admin account and called "administration".  I changed then the administrator account, I had used so far for a standard account and named it 'everyday', which makes the account would connect you to our daily use.  Finally, I created a new standard account called 'secondary' for my husband to use.

Now, when I turn on the computer, only accounts that I am able to connect in the Welcome screen are 'everyday' and 'secondary '.  I tried to find articles that would already be answering my question, but good solutions I've seen do not work or are not completely suitable for my situation.  I know the administrator account exists, I don't know how to connect to it.  How can I access my administrator account now?  Things like system restore and cmd / 'run as administrator' failure because I don't have privileges admin so I can't even begin to perform these tasks.

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Only the user is a Standard user, how do I get an admin account?

    Hello

    Windows 7 Pro

When I set up this new computer, I created the main account as a standard user. Bad move. Now when I try to make changes, I invited him UAC with an inactive "Yes" button. It is said to enter an administrator password - it is not one that I know. I'm not able to use the cmd as administrator either. I have to reinstall Windows to fix this? I tried several suggestions that I found on the web (safe mode, etc.) and nothing gets done by the UAC.

    Thank you!

    OT:

Only the user is a Standard user,

Sorry, I have reflected on something else when I wrote 'choice 4 '.

First, note the comment at the top of the page I linked to:

Theoretically if you do not have an administrator account, the built-in Administrator account should be available in safe mode (see also related articles). For any identified reason, the built-in Administrator sometimes to be unavailable in safe mode.

So, the first thing to do is to reboot safe mode and see if the built-in Administrator account is here.  I will not delete my Admin accounts to test this situation.

Assuming that the built-in Administrator account is NOT available in Mode safe...

The link I gave you, the two method I (32-bit only) and method II require you to "open a command prompt at startup" and give a link for directions to do so.  If you go to this link, there is a 'Option One' which uses the installation of Win 7 disc and a 'Option 2' that tells you to use the menu of Boot Options to boot into "Safe Mode with command prompt."

However, Safe Mode with command prompt not automatically you will get an account with computer administrator privileges, and I suspect that you will not be able to make registry changes suggested that way, despite the generally good reputation of sevenforums.com.   So, use the Windows 7 installation DVD to display the "System Recovery Options" and then select "Command Prompt" there.

Assuming that you do not receive the built-in administrator enabled account, log in, create a new account and give administrator privileges.  If you intend to use this account for anything other answering the UAC guests, create a second administrator account, "just in case."

Finally, open an elevated command prompt (right click > run as administrator) and use the following command to disable the built-in Administrator account:

NET user administrator / active: No.

  • Screen black on the Admin account, but not on the standard user account

Run a laptop Toshiba Satellite with Windows 7 Home ultimate. At startup, I log onto my user account. Some time later, I can access my admin account. Twice in two months after logging in to my admin account, the screen was black. The normal icons and the cursor appears. On the right side of the taskbar, the normal icons are displayed. On the left side of the taskbar, only the Start button appears. When I click on the Start button, it seems normal and programs will start when I click on them. However, the search of files and programs does not work.

The first time that has happened for a reason system restore did not work. I guess my antivirus system work even if I had turned off temporarily. Basically, I created a new admin account and then copied the files from the old account to the new account admin.

During the problem that I can connect and disable the account of user with no problems and everything works normally.

I did a system restore and then I was able to access windows Explorer, but could not set the background picture, the libraries did not display correctly even if the files were there when I looked at the file of the user on the drive actually.

It is a very confusing problem.

    RobertWeiner,

You cannot run SFC without being Administrator utility. for which please select the control mode (go to the windows folder, search cmd.exe. you will find several results. In those, select the file showing in the folder System32 cmd. Click with the right button on the cmd file, and then select the option «run as asministrator» Then, type sfc/scannow in the cmd window. I think that now the System File Checker will work.

don't forget, even you are in your admin account, you must click with the right button on the cmd file, then select the option «run as asministrator»

  • Cannot connect to admin account (the user profile Service failed)

    Hi all
When I try to access my admin account, well I typed my password, BUT this message appears:

    User profile service failed
    User profile cannot be loaded

I can get my guest very well account, but can not use my admin... anything that can help please!
Anyone who can help would be great

This problem may occur if the user profile folder is deleted manually. A profile that is manually deleted does not remove the security identifier (SID) of the list of profiles in the registry. If the SID is present, Windows will try to load the profile by using the ProfileImagePath that points to a nonexistent path. Therefore, the profile cannot be loaded. • I can not change the type of standard user to the admin account.

I had a very difficult time, adding new accounts to the system.  Now that I have, I can not change the type of standard user to the admin account.

As you don't declare that you tried, I am unable to say where you went wrong. Here is a method to promote the accounts without going through the various GUI screens:
1 restart in SafeMode with network.
    2. log on as an administrator.
    3. click on start.
    4. type the three letters cmd in the search box.
    5. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
    6. click on "run as Administrator".
    7. type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
    NET user
(This will show you all existing accounts)
    net localgroup administrators 'xxxx '.
(This will encourage user xxxx to Administrator status. Replace xxxx with the correct name account).

    Hi kuentin,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    (1) - what do you mean you have only 1 user account?

When you set up Windows, you will need to create a user account. This account is an administrator account to allow you to set up your computer and install any programs that you want to use. And that's why the user account you are using is the administrator account.

There is no way that you can create an administrator account, or by using a Standard account.

    (2) are you having issues during installation of the software or opening it?

    (3) what exactly happens when you try to open the software application?

    (4) should be codes error or error messages, if any?

    (5) what software are you trying to install or open?
