• HFM - Services down copy utility

  Hi all

  I use HFM 11.1.2.3 version and trying to copy the application QA HFM in Dev using HFM environment copy utility. I checked that no user not connected to QA HFM application.

  Is - mandatory down services QA to perform the copy of the application to QA environment for Dev Environment?

  I also have another question. Is it possible that I can get the QA application profile to create the same apps in Dev? I did export LCM and I got the application.xpad.xml file. But it is is not clear to me to create the new creation of the application. Please could you suggest any solution to create the new application in Dev as similar to QA.

  Regarding your first question. It is not mandatory, but it is preferable to stop services because in the earlier version, he was known to corrupt the application. In a sense bringing the service just ensures that nobody is able to connect.

  Way the easiest way is to use LCM. All you have to do is go to export Service QA-Shared objects you need and then import it on the Dev reuse LCM.

  With your question, I guess, that you try to migrate a HFM-EPMA of QA dev app. To make sure you get exact copy, you must run the utility to copy of HFM app and even take the export of LCM > EPMA > and import it into the DEV server. This will ensure that you have the data and metadata in place.

  Utility app HFM copy copy metadata also in case it is a classic application. In case you are using an EPMA application, you will need to copy the metadata using .ads file generated using EPMA line Generator.

  2. can I use the copy for EPM system utility

  I think you meant application EPMA and not the EPM system. You can use to copy EPMA application but the metadata are not copied.

  It is used only for HFM applications and not for the EPM system.

  3. Please could you let me know the difference between "Copy application data" and "Data tables copy request" (Ref., see below the screenshot)

  In a table there are lines, columns, which makes the structure of the table and the content that you fill in the table matches the data. 'Copy the tables of application data' to only create the tables in the destination, but with no data.

  I use hyperion 9.3.1 and I want to synchronize two applications on different server, I know how to use the utility to copy of app, but on the same server, I think that we can also use this utility to copy the application from one server to another using the properties file but I dnt know how to do it because the example is SQL and I am using and database oracle

  Once the migration has been successful, you must update your users using the UpdateUsers.cmd (UpdateUsers.cmd and PlanningUserName PlanningUserPassword TARGET_APP).

  Hi, can someone please let me know if there is another way to copy the application HFM from one environment to another, except for copy App Util or LCM methods.
  
  Will it work if you copy all dorsal DB? I know that it works for the planning of app, but I was wondering if this works for HFM.

  Update HSX_CLUSTER_CONTROLLERS set PrimaryServerName = "sv1".
  Update NOMCLUSTER set HSX_CLUSTER_INFO = 'dev '.
  Update NOMCLUSTER set HSX_CLUSTER_SERVERS = 'dev '.
  Update HSX_CLUSTER_SERVERS set ServerName = "sv1".

  This method is actually very useful for auto synchronization if your source and target are 1-to-1.
  LCM is a Migrator good, but he has some weaknesses when it comes to synchronization.

  We intend to upgrade HFM 11.1.1.3 asks 11.1.2.1. I read that we can simply use application copy upgrade application and then run the upgrade of system utility.

  So are the fllowing correct steps:

  1 run the copy to copy the application wizard application. It will also copy data?

  2. run the schema upgrade utility.

  Am I missing something else? Do we need copy schema HFM to old version again?
  Please advice.

  You are right.

  It is the process of upgrading an application of 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1.

  When you configure your new environment, you will use the app to copy to copy the application of HFM of the former base of the new database.   Yes you can take another version, but general rule is the new version should be higher then the original version of the bucket... then run the upgrade utility to bring the request to this new version.

  Then you can convert it into application epma...

  Good, maybe I'm wrong (and please correct me if this is indeed the case) but I was under the impression that if you update apps directly on your device over wi - fi, next time backup you your device to your computer, it copies these updates to the computer if you do not have to download both times.

  I have HFM on server A... now faces the same pattern in serere B where I configured the new HFM instance.

  Now, after a while there is an HFM application developed on server A, I need to move it is the instance of the server B of HFM...

  my options:

  (1) copy utility simply running app-, but this could take a long time.

  diagram of A 2) export server on server B, a dpuis on server B, run the utility to copy app

  Diagram 3) Server B replace server a schema, then reconfigure HFM.

  movement artifacts 4) by LCM and data move schema on server B and execute copy utility App.

  We always use copy app utility. Do to minimize downtime of the server A is to copy the application to a temp on a server application, it takes only 1 or 2 hours, depends on your app size, server capacity and the speed of the network. Once it's done, the server application should be available for the developers/users to use, and then copy the temporary application to Server B. That's what we did if we need to copy HFM app in environments.

  I am running the copy utility HFM in 11.1.2.2.

  Do you need to create a HFM application first before copying

  For example I want to copy HFM application APPXXX (source) of APPXXX_New (destination). APPXXX_New does not already exist. Should I create the new application in HFM first before I launch the app copies or I can just run the copy application and assume that it will be created automatically.
