HFM hierarchy

Hello

I'm new to HFM. Can you please let me know if its possible to see all hierarchies in HFM similar to essbase outline or planning hierarchies. It is also possible to extract the HFM hierarchies.

Thanks for your time on this.

Hello

It depends on the type of the HFM application you have. Classic or EPMA.

If the application is classic, you can use the HFM desktop client to view metadata. If the application is EPMA, you can use the library of dimension.

See you soon,.

It seems to me that you try to create the new entity rather than re - using the members list. Follow the steps below:

#1-début hyperion Financial Management Client (start--> programs--> Hyperion Financial Management--> financial management)
#2-click on the option manage metadata to the left
#3-click the open file button (assuming that you have a file)
#a - browse and locate your metadata file
#4-click on the item in metadata dropdown box and select entity
#5-si the Parent 1 Parent 2, Co A, Co B have not been created, create them now. Place Co and Co Abbots and children of parents 1.
#6-click on the tab indicating the list of members (by default, its member attributes on)
#7-locate A Co and B Co and drag them to the Parent 2. This will add the Parent 2.
    #8-save your file of course

    Hope that helps.

  • HFM another set hierarchy in place the question

    Hello!
I need to set up another hierarchy who said ' keep company (a company consolidated level) then company B (one of her children) him. I can see how to set up the hierarchy which would add things together, but not how to set one up that would have subtracted from another entity.

If someone has been able to do this successfully? Is this possible? If so, please help :)

    Thank you!
    Kristen

There is no easy way to do it. You couldn't have something with the rules, but I wouldn't recommend it. Why not establish a hierarchy that omits the entity you want to take away or create a new node that does not include it.

  • HFM SmartView Bug? HsGetValue retrieves the data for non-existent entity node.

    Hi guys,.

We are facing a problem of SmartView 11.1.2.5.520 in combination with HFM 11.1.2.4.103. I would like to know if you can reproduce it.

Assume it's our hierarchy of entity:

    Parent1 (EUR)

    Child1 (USD)

    Child2

    Child3

    Parent2 (GBP)

    Child4

    Children5

We want to extract the data via "HsGetValue" for in < currency Parent > Child1, so need to entity to return node information: "Parent1.Child1." Works very well.

Strangely enough, that's good, that the Parent2.Child1 data retrieves, although node do not exist!

If you try it with ad hoc, an error message appears saying "Member does not exist", which is correct.

Can someone check the BUG? If so, I'll open a SR.

    Thanks in advance!

    Carmonte

Thank you guys! You responses helped me to understand that he is not really a bug.

    • HsGetValue retrieves a nonexistent node of to data from first available parent in the hierarchy.
    • Top of to HsGetValue retrieves no data. What is good.

Knowing that, I can live with that.

  • Update the metadata of HFM 11.1.2.3

    Hello

I update the metadata in HFM application. Version - 11.1.2.3 Classic application. I extracted the HFM workspace metadata and update dimension members by using the HFM desktop client.

What will be the impact on the data if I'm changing the hierarchy in the app metadata file (I'm not remove all members.) Just create new members and change the hierarchy of existing members)? It erases data from HFM applications after loading the metadata file updated through the workspace?

    Thank you

    Michel K

Hello. Your level of database will not be affected if you do not remove members at the basic level. For members of parent, if you change the descendants, it depends. If account or custom dimensions, everything is recalculated in the memory as requested, so the change is retroactive. For entities, it depends on if you help org by period and/or parent entities of locking. If one or both of those, entity hierarchy changes generally will not be affected. If you do not either of them, the hierarchy is affected, but you will need to rebind the data in order for the changes to be aggregated.

  • Calculation to Elim in HFM entity such as Elim entities in the enterprise

I was responsible for the HFM work as business - how can I fill an Elim entity with data [disposal] publishes on real entities during consolidation?  Since there is no data is not loaded in the ElimEntity and the accounts are not marked IsCalculated, I created a custom ElimCalc calculated to try to realize the calculation of uncalculated accounts.

I tried every iteration elimination consolidate the function within the sub section.  I tried to fill the elim calculate entities through the sub section.  All epic fails.

Can someone point me in the right direction with this?  I tried to show the client that the data they need is in the dimension of value [disposal] that these data may be attracted to consolidate reports.  However, they want the Elim entity to be part of children of parent in a column of the report rather than have two columns to give the Curr Total entity and the elimination.

There must be a solution to this and I've exhausted ideas.

Thanks a lot for this reading and offering suggestions.

I've done a few times. I highly recommend that you avoid creating entities from the elimination. Do all you can to convince users that they have no need of specific entities of elimination. Use rather a custom size 'data type' to store the values of the elimination.

To answer your question, however, you can (and should) use Sub consolidate to do this, not to calculate the Sub. The HS. Con function takes the [Total Parent] entity data and writes to the current entity [percentage] and/or [disposal], OR node, node [disposal] any entity brother. This means that you must create elimination entities named 'ParentEntity_Elim '. The rules, to consolidate the Sub would look like this:

    Void Consolidate()

    '************************************************************************************************************************************************************
    ' Consolidate the Routine

  • Strengthening of metadata in HFM

    Hi all

We have huge hierarchy has to be built for our new Application.

Can you suggest an easy way to build this in addition to the development of metadata using established financial management tool.

Use of Excel or Notepad where I can enter all parameters/attributes and download them all at once

your suggestions would be a great help.

    Thanks in advance.

As suggested, you should try to extract your metadata in a .app file.  Pull in Excel, and then apply the text to columns.  Save that file .xls (x) so you don't overwrite your original.  You really need to work with the sections that have headers. MEMBERS = account 'and '! HIERARCHIES = account.  All the rest can be deleted.  Do all your work.  You probably won't want to write a macro to set your delimiter back in because you'll probably repeat this process several times.  Alternatively you could find someone (if you use a consultant for this project and then start here) who has a copy of Keith Berry Excel utility for metadata of HFM.  Replace the two sections of the .app file with the tasks you just and load the file in HFM.  The steps should not be too complicated for an administrator.  The work involved in the implementation of the metadata on the other hand...

  • [POWN] does not work properly in the property management HFM

    Hi all

Can someone help me with the calculation of the property in HFM-> [POWN].

In fact, I have about 400 Company in the hierarchy of entities some owners direct + indirect.

Part of this hierarchy is like that.

    B 100% owned

    B C held at 100%

So, I created the hierarchy like this

    AConsol

    A

    BConsol

    B

    C

When I check [DOWN] and [POWN] in the property management:

BConsol entity [there] and [POWN] for every 100% B & C

Entity AConsol has [DOWN] and [POWN] 100%, but should [DOWN] BConsol null and [POWN] BConsol 0%.

I am curious to know how [DOWN] AConsol to BConsol is not calculated (null) and [POWN] becomes 0%?

    I thank all

    Best regards

    Hilal

    Hi Igor,.

    Thank you for your response.

    I find the cause already.

This is due to I'm wrong define the holding company for the Consol entity in the entity of the hierarchy.

  • IC partner not identified in HFM

    Hi guys,.

I am working in a project, while the IC partners are not identified in the source (not all), then it means that I probably need to load the data into [no PIC].

In this case, how will you do the eliminations? As far as I know, for HFM works correctly, all transactions of the IC should be loaded to HFM (say, through FDM) with an identified partner (PKI).

Could you please share your thoughts?

    Thank you!

    Anna

Given in [no PIC] do not eliminate by default. If you inter-company data, which you know is truly intercompany, but data is not the identity of the correct partner, you can create a fictional entity in the application, installed directly under the highest parent entity, perhaps called 'ICPTemp', beating Pavilion IsICP. So rather than load the inter-company on [no PIC] data, you would map to ICPTemp. This would allow the HFM eliminate all data associated with ICPTemp, since HFM sees it as a PIC entity is valid and applies the same "first common parent" logic, with the first common parent being the last parent in the hierarchy.

I would also ensure the entity in order to forbid anyone to enter data in this entity, since it exists only for purposes to be a partner to all other entities intercompany.

  • Both parents hierarchy

    Hi gurus,

If an entity with 2 parents, how to build the hierarchy in the metadata of HFM?

    Example:
    C children with parents A and B
    A parent holding 60%
Parent b holding 40% how to draw the hierarchy for this requirement?

    concerning
    Dev

    HI Dev
You must be very careful while consolidating this type of entity.
One type of consolidation entity C is suitable for a child of one entity and another child of another entity.
Now, in your typical case since 60% if taking this entity would get 100% consolidated with an entity.
so the title of the property management this must be attributed with 100% Pcon and POwn.
and under the entity B as zero.
In the other type of consolidation if an entity wishes to receive 60% of profit then Pown should be 60% but PCon will be 100% and
b entity POwn would be 40% with Pcon 0 (associated entity).

In the accounting world, this type of consolidation is called Cross Holding.

Hope that this answer would be useful.

  • Calculation on the hierarchy of Member custom

    Hi people,

We use our Custom to identify 4 different jornals and adjustments posted in HFM.
At the Summit, we have TOTC4 who has 4 branches under it.
Each branch has paper of different types, I recently added a new type of newspaper in a branch and it is not reflected in TOTC4.
I did a full consolidation with the data and it is notably still not it.

I would have liked it to be included, can anyone shed some light on why he wouldn't?

    Thank you

    Michael

In each custom member you must put the AggrWeight in the attributes of the node 1 to consolidate the hierarchy.

  • I can isolate a bookmark with the filter, but how 'find' a bookmark in the hierarchy of the ShowAllBookmarks window?

I want to find a bookmark to its location in the hierarchy of bookmarks, but all I can do with the filter is isolate a bookmark [s]; or by using the filter bar bookmarks, or in the ShowAllBookmarks window. For example, I know I have bookmarked some, but I want to move it into a new "folder" and rename it, perhaps; for this I need to be able to * see * in the hierarchy, as in the Mac Finder, when the filter turns into a file, and then "Show Original" to "Open the enclosing folder."

    Watch these extensions:

  • Where is bookmarked in my favorites folder hierarchy?

I have a comprehensive set of bookmarks, organized into a hierarchy of nested folders. Sometimes the bookmark I want is not where I expect to be. I can find it easily by using the search engine to organize bookmarks and I can then move to where I think it should be kept, but I can't find out where it was hidden! I put it somewhere just as sensitive? She was stored or moved inadvertently to the wrong place?
It would be useful that, when a bookmark is highlighted in the right pane of the window to organize it, its current location could appear in the left pane emphasizing and expanding its hierarchy of folders. If not, perhaps the full path to the bookmark could be given in a column in the right pane which can be made visible or not by the user by right clicking on the column headers of the usual way.

    Install Show Parent Folder: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7372/

    • After installation, tools > Modules > Extensions, click view the Parent folder, click Options, set your options, there are only 2 Articles.
    • After installation, the bookmarks > organize bookmarks, click views, click show columns, click Parent folder to place a check mark, the new Parent folder column in the right pane. Rearrange the columns in the right pane by dragging the column to the desired position headers.
