Hi, I lost my XP installation cd

I have a product key... How can I get the disc. I lost the sound on my pc and some system files seems to be missing. I was told that the installation can fix this

It's going to be a little difficult to find, since the o/s is no longer manufactured or sold.
Was it OEM? Then, you must contact the manufacturer of the computer. Retail sales? You're not likely to get a replacement.

Maybe you know a friend who has the drive of the same exact type corresponding to your machine OEM and o/s or commercial version.

  • Packard bell onetwo lost touch screen installation

Packard Bell oneTwo L5871 lost touch screen installation.  I can't find a driver anywhere.  Packard Bell does not even recognize my model or serial number!  Does anyone else have this problem, it has only 1 year.  Worked fine with Windows 7.

I found the solution to this painful problem:

    1 Goto: http://www.packardbell.co.uk/pb/en/GB/content/download
    2. choose Office - Onetwo - Onetwo xxU6P - 8 32 windows OS or 64 bit [upgrade to windows 7]
    3 download the touch driver.
    4 unzip and install
    5 reset
    6. you should now have the touchscreen feature.

My pc series began with PWU6P, so although the l5871 does not appear as an option I gave it a try and hey presto!

    I hope this helps.

  • lost the second installation disk

I always have my serial number simply unable to complete the installation.

How can I complete the installation without the second disc?

The link provided in the previous answer will not lead you to the CS5.5 files.

You can download the demo version of the software through the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.

Don't forget to follow the steps described in the Note: very important article Instructions on the pages to download to this site or the download may not work properly.

  • Windows XP Home Edition has lost drive of installation and CD Key - cannot repair windows (damaged WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM file)

I can't start Windows XP Home Edition at all - everything I try to do using the Advanced Options results in the same error message screen (Windows is not start because the following file is missing or corrupt...). I can't do a repair installation because my friend who has built my computer and installed my operating system lost the disc to install Windows XP Home Edition and the CD Key, I ordered. I can't find anyone else who has their record.

Is there a way I can fix the system without the authentic installation disk files? If not, is there a way I can receive a free/good Windows installation disc market replacement of Microsoft? Also, I don't want to lose any documents on my computer in the process.

    Thanks for the help!

Have you tried 'XP No Boot troubleshooting steps' sticky post at the top of this forum?

As this issues happens several times a day and your system falls into any category to start, why not start there and see if that helps?

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes pulling and buttons power)

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to start try to copy files to a hard drive with a corrupted file system so it must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and setting that may solve your problem completely, but you must start there.

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Start the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD or create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.  If you don't know what kind of bootable CD, you, do a CD of bootable XP Recovery Console and do not forget.

You can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console when no XP CD is available by following the instructions in this link:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic276527.html

After booting into the Recovery Console, you should be in this folder:

    C:\WINDOWS

For each of your hard disk partitions, you must then run:

    Chkdsk /r

For example, at the Recovery Console prompt, enter:

    CHKDSK c: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.  It may take a long time to complete or seem to be 'glued '.  Be patient.  If the HARD drive light flashes, it's something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

The chkdsk/r must be completed without error, you may need to run several times until it does.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

  • Mac lost during the installation of windows

When installing windows on a MAC, I deleted my partition mac completely and I am now left with windows 7 to my mac book air. Y at - it an option to install mac, I don't mind losing the windows partition

    Hello smarthala,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that you deleted by mistake your Mac partition during the installation of Windows. The partition itself deleted or was it the Mac OS that has been erased, leaving an empty partition?

If the latter, you can reinstall OS X from OS X Recovery. See this article for how that should be done: On OS X Recovery
Otherwise, you can use Internet recovery (Command-Option-R, as opposed to the command-R) to repartition the entire hard drive and install the version of Mac OS X provided on your Mac. Who is finished, you can upgrade to El Capitan via the App Store > bought.

    Best regards.

  • Power lost during the installation of Windows 7

When I rebooted the system, it had already created a Disk 0 Partition 1: reserved system, total size - 100, free space - 86 MB, Type - System.
    and
    Disk 0 Partition 2' total size - GB 1862,9, space - 1860,4 GB, Type - primary

The installation does not allow me to install (no access to) Partition 1.

Is there a way I can recover Partition 1?

It is an old computer, but with a new 2 TB hard drive.

Installation just started, perhaps running for 5-10 minutes and was only the second initial task.

    Thank you!

Okay - I can sometimes be a BOZO!

There was an option in the installation procedure to delete this partition.

    Sorry for taking place!

Maybe a Mod can delete this message.

  • Keywords lost after (re) installation from an external hard drive

Last weekend, I formatted my HD PC and installed Windows 7 64-bit (previously installed was Vista). Human error was - perhaps - make sure my AppData backup is successful. However, my photo folder was a DHM, and I guess I would be saved anyway.
I ran the import function of my DHM in LR3 (latest version), and everything has gone just find, except that my keywords were missing. Strange thing however, that my lists of keywords and keyword suggestions were complete, but no connected to the photos (except 1!)
So my question is, is there something I have missed (outside my AppData folder) which could be fixed, or I'll have to start re-branding (keywording, metadata as dates etc. were imported as well)?

    Thanks in advance,

    OLE K

When individual images (some but not all in a folder) is missing, click the question mark on the frame of the images in the grid, and navigate to the correct location of the image on your hard drive.

If an exclamation mark appears in addition to a folder in the Control Panel folder right click on this folder and , that is, navigate to the correct location of the folder on your hard drive.

Do this for the file above in the hierarchy which show question marks and all subfolders will be found by LR too, provided that the structure of folders and folder names have not changed.

Question marks appear only when you moved in images / files off LR through your operating system, but also when you rename the files / images outside of LR.

All of these things, moving images / folders, renamaming images / files are better made in LR. This way LR keeps track of its new location / the new name.
