  The problem is when you create a 'hidden and protected' so apex will associate a value of the checksum for the value of this item and you change the value, the checksum will be not changed.

  If there is no problem of security use 'Hidden' instead of "hidden and protected" for this element.

  Hidden and protected option is no longer available in 4 Apex. Now, a hidden item is automatically hidden and protected.
  
  This gives me problems with my application.
  I created a page with a menu.
  When I click on the menu my page gets filled with content.
  
  I do this with a text element.
  In this element of text, I fill the content id. When I click on the menu a JavaScript fills the text with the correct content id element.

  There is a type of 'Hidden' and a separate place under "settings" to "Protected" and you answer Yes or no to the selection list.

  A hidden element will be rendered on the page as such. Most users will never know they're there. However, advanced users and types of hacker will know and may try to change the value of a hidden element to see what they can do.

  Something hidden and protected is a bit like a normal hidden item except that when the page is submitted that a check is performed to make sure that its value is the same as when the page is rendered. If the check fails, an error is raised.

  Use hidden and protected, unless the value of the element can change after it is rendered, as may be the case at any time depending on how you implement some logic.

  RPs are stored in the System Volume Information folder that is hidden and inaccessible (for your protection, of course), unless make you it accessible.

  I prefer the command CACLS (ACL = Access Control List), so on my system, to enter the folder IVR, start, run or I would like to a command prompt window, enter this command:

  Now, Jose navigates carefully all the stuff in the SVI folder.
     
  To restore it as it was before, enter the following command:

  When you enter the SVI folder, there is another folder called:

  _RESTORE (a few letters and numbers)

  Under these are records of Nnpr where each of them is a Restore Point.  Sort Nnpr records by date, and you can see them and compare to the SRP appears available in the system restore calendar.

  Manually create a new PR and watch what is happening in the SVI folder list when a new RP is created in order to see how it works.

  Look into the new folder Nnpr and it's the Restore Point.  Some RPs may be traumatic, some might be small - it depends on what the RP's savings since the last PR was created.

  Under each folder Nnpr is a snapshot folder that has the XP registry at the time the RP was made (it's good to know for any problem).

  You can look around it there and you'll see things that might look familiar... and text files, you can watch...  I don't think I know what all the files are fine, but it may not be important for what you're trying to do.

  I think that if get you things you like, turn off SR and enable it (that will remove all current/former SPP) and look in the SVI folder and you should have zero RPs.

  Then manually create a new RP, you will have a new Restore Point in your calendar of SR and a new Nnpr under SVI folder for this moment.  I don't think that the departure of RP RP01 folder names, healrp02, etc...

  I'm not sure all the other files there in the SVI to do, but if I wanted to do what you want to do, I'll start with no RPs, do a RP manually and then copy the entire folder IVR on a CD-ROM or other course (perhaps an external drive).

  In the future when you are ready to go back, turn off the system restore and solve it (to erase all old PHI) and then replace the SVI folder on the hard drive with the one on the CD.

  You may need to remove the SVI folder, but when you restart, a new is created automatically even if SR is disabled.  This SVI folder empty is more annoying for some people, but you can make it work as you want...  ($25 extra for costs of removal trouble).

  To replace the SVI folder, you may need to work in Mode without failure or the XP Recovery Console, but you can replace the entire SVI folder if you want.

  It may take a little effort to replace the SVI folder, but you can do it.

  Then restart and choose to restore your computer to an earlier time.  I think there is just a single RP in the calendar and it's one that you copied from the CD.  I could be wrong on this part.

  This concept could be complicated or messy or worse if you have SR followed two volumes (like your drive C and D), you'll have then two SVI files.

  It is not supposed me have followed anyway SR things on any volume as the boot volume (usually C), so usually the turn off on the secondary volumes except in cases where I'm not sure at 100%, it is not necessary.

  If you choose to restore to the RP only and it works that partially for some reason, you have a big mess and XP could not boot at all and it can be difficult/impossible to fix, or the system restore may not work and XP will just complain that your effort of system restore has nothing.

  I have not tried so I'm not sure that it will work, but since you have the things you need to do a repair or reinstallation if you must... that can happen (a reinstall from scratch).  And you're probably pretty well at this party now.

  CCleaner is a way to also delete the individual RPs (and other maintenance that people like tools), but if I had to do your thing, I'd do it the way I described with the CD - and it may not work well or at all and might take some practice.  Then you can write an article about it.

  Restart in safe mode and run the antivirus scans here. You have symptoms of an infected machine. Scanning in safe mode will reduce efforts of the virus to avoid detection.

  To restart in safe mode, restart normally, and when the system resets you can press the F8 key. It is point immediately after the screen logo POST or manufacturer initial of the system, and just before Windows starts to load. This will give you a boot menu where you can choose Safe mode.
