  I'm going to show a hidden field, once one of the items in drop-down list is selected with an if statement then. I tried to put the code below in the code above, but it does not work. I am familiar with livescript event management system, so I'm not too sure where the if then statement must be submitted. Should it be set in the * click the section? Or the initialze section? If someone could shine some light on what to do here it would be great.

  My example display only text. When you view the drop down from the window of the object, click the link tab. If specify the item values is checked, then boundItem will return what is in the value column during the passage of what is in the text column. If you have added an additional element in the list without adding an item of value, maybe that's your problem. In my example, if you check the box, it will be 1, 2, 3 in the value column. If you then in the code, you have added the this.boundItem part, case sections will have to be changed from 'TextField1' to '1' and the same for the 2 and 3.

  Since my upgrade to v7, this doesn't work anymore...

  I just wanted to add here that Peter has solved my problem... for some reason, the fact that my subjects have 2 meta tags, showing that they were imported from Word documents broke the function show/hide.

  By removing these 2 meta tags, the functionality is restored...!

  The point of this is that there is a rolling slide show, spanning the entire width of the browser... but there is an area at the bottom of the browser which is visible and with content drop down below...

  No matter how you adjust or the size of the browser to scale, both the slide show and the box below remain constant, with a large drop-down box available...

  I can't understand how to achieve this in Muse... I use the reactive Muse Version 2105.1.1

• Value of the drop-down list instead of the text

  I want a drop-down list that includes complete definitions for the user to watch but when they choose the item they want only the abbreviation indicating on the form. For example, in my items list is said 'Illinois', but when they select "Illinois" she fills the field with the bind value of 'IT '. Is this possible?

  I place a TextField on the top of the drop-down list and setting the rawValue selected the TextField... In the case of exit of the combo I hide list drop-down and display of the textfield object. Similarly, in the event you enter in the text field, I am displaying the drop-down list field and hide the text field.

  This way I can show 'IT' If you choose "Illinois" in the menu dropdown.

  I modified the example found here - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0CC5602FE23E86DA86257350004E1B6A. You will have to manipulate the position of the mouse to navigate to a specific line, but this will open the ring.

  I don't know how to handle this problem.

  Example, there is a menu drop-down where the user will select the main of a concentration. This is the 1st drop-down list. There are 3 selections that are major such as;

  CPE (computer engineering)

  EE (electrical engineering)

  NIS.  (Networked Information systems)

  Each major has different classes to select. Now, there is another drop down menu which will display the list of classes; It's the 2nd menu drop-down.

  CPE 603

  CPE 602

  CPE 601

  Note: This is for the major CPE.

  In short, if the user selects the SCE, I want second drop-down list to switch to the list of classes by major CPE.

  In addition, there will be another drop-down list. This is the 3rd drop-down list. It will be 2nd class, the student will select. I don't want this person to choose the same class, they have selected prior to the 2nd menu drop-down. So if the CPE 603 was selected in the 2nd drop-down below, I don't want the user to select from CPE 603 in the 3rd drop-down list. Help, please.

  I'm trying to hide certain fields in a form that is based on any value selected from a drop down menu, as shown in the image below. My main dropdown has values such as $25, $50 $ 75 and based on what value is selected, I want to hide two text field and date field, I created. Also when you select a value of $1000 I want to hide the ' field Manager ($ 25 - $ 100).

  I have a condition of report where I need to use columns in the section of Pages in Pivot mode, but I need to hide the display so that it cannot be displayed to the user.
  Is there a way we can achieve this. I am able to hide the values inside the hidden option or by giving the white police and in color, but the drop still exists. I want to hide even the drop-down list also, the user does not know that there is no drop-down list. I can't remove the pivot as my report depends on these columns showing rolling months of data. There are a lot of customization in this report, can you get it someone please let me know no work around for this problem.

  You can hide the fall down by adding the css code.

  In responses, add a static text / narrative view and Add (enable html) code below

  otherwise in the dashboard add text and enter the code above it...
  This will hide the drop down.

  I wonder if someone could help me with this. I want to show/hide some text boxes in my form according to the choice made by the person filling in. For example, there is a dropdown list containing a selection of numbers 1-4. If 1 was selected, the text boxes below 1 would be visible and obligatory, if the 2 have been chosen, 2 text boxes below would be visible and required etc...

  I'm new to FormCalc (only started using it this morning), so simple a possible explanation would be fantastic.

  Of course, you can have javascript and formcalc in the form. Not only the two in the same field, same event; D

  Okey, let's try some things:

  (1) check if the "binding" from the drop-down list is the same as the values that you choose. In the script you are referring to the bound values.

  (2) other names for the Textfields would be better, because it is more difficult to refer to "Textfield1 [1]" then to for example: 'New '. I was just to lazy to give them names. (If it's on another page or subform, you refer to the fields correctly: as MyForm.FirstSubform.FirstTextfield... this name lies in the specific script field.)

  (3) check your script once more... want to make invisible mandatory fields?

  (4) check if your form is dynamic. (If it isn't you will not see the changes...)

  You should probably do it in small steps, such as:

  (1) first of all, you refer to areas such as:

  This.rawValue = Firstfield.rawValue;

  If the changed value fields got you its name and to be sure that the event you put is the right one.

  (2) try the different parts of the script and look at how it works. Problems can be more easily found and then

  I hope someone here can help me. I've been browsing the forums and tried several options, but can't get anything to work.

  That's what I put in place:

  • Drop-down list with the following options:
    • All (value 1)
    • Specific (value 2)
    • Range (value 3)
  • Two different text boxes (a named range and the other named specific)

  What I'm trying to accomplish:

  Based on the drop-down menu, the boxes must be visible or hidden:

  • All (value 1). the two boxes are hidden
  • Specific (value 2); the specific box is visible, but the beach area is hidden
  • Range (value 3); the beach area is visible, but the specific box is hidden

  No matter what I try (JavaScript and FormCalc) I can't get this to work. If I start with hidden text areas they appear not visible, and when they begin to visible, they hide. I'm pulling my hair out on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  The error isn't in your code, it's in the form itself...

  In LiveCycle Designer, you have the properties of form that will design the PDF on how he'll react

  You form is set to be a static PDF and a large number of features are disabled in static PDF files

  To change your static to the dynamicform, follow the instructions:

  1. in LiveCycle, open your PDF form

  2. click on Files > in the form

  3. open the default values tab and change the last static dynamic dropdownlist (this option may not be necessary as it is for the side server only, but change still)

  4. open the overview tab and change ' Preview Adobe XML Form as ' of 'static PDF form' to 'shape dynamic XML'

  I'm trying to show/hide subforms with a drop-down list selection. I found a lot of information on the subject and ended up with what my script:

  However, it does nothing when a selection is made in the drop-down list. I have the "SubformZZI" initially defined as 'Visible' and the 'SubformZZR', originally defined as "hidden".

  Any suggestions?

  Check if the form is saved in dynamic form. File-> save as and choose dynamic for the type of shape...

  Other that that, you should check if you have given the values for the selection of the drop-down list as '1' and '2' in the tab of the control's binding.

  Hi all

  First time post here - wahoo!  :-)  Brand new user of LiveCycle, and so far I'm loving - very cool app!  I am a bit puzzled, however, and hoping someone can help...

  I am using LiveCycle version 8.05 and try to build a form that has a drop-down list with departments in our Organization.  If the user selects the elements 1-5 on my list, I want two other fields at autopopulated (one for the Admin Assistant) and one for Dept Head.  If however the user selects 'Other', I want a text box (it will be hidden the rest of the time) where the person will be able to type in the Department they work for.  For now, I'm only interested on getting the box 'Other' to appear; I'll worry about the other stuff later.

  Elsewhere in my form, I have a functioning drop-down list that displays a text based on the selection field; However, for some reason this logic does not work with the situation described above.

  My code for the working text field is (in JavaScript)

  After many fruitless hours yesterday, I got only to the extent where the code below; This was more or less copied right out of a post here.  When I click on the drop-down list, select 'Other', the text field is displayed.  I tried the definition of the text field to the times 'Hidden' and 'Visible' through properties of the object, but no luck.  I tried to use IF statements, subforms and anything else I could think of but am getting nowhere.

  Hello, I am looking for a way to hide text in a text field when a number is from a drop-down list. For example, I have a table with text field that have a line pre-populated text in them. I would like the text to be deleted if 'Yes' is selected in a data entry drop-down list in the text box empty now.   Here's what I have so far:

  Just spotted your original script had a double == when assigning the value to the rawValue. You must use the double == equality test.
