His intermittent

message always tells me that I have disconnected a device, then say I have it plugged in, and my sound disappeared.

My bodyguard who go and come, but is mostly not of work, messages keep appearing on my screen saying I have disconnected a device and the next thing there is a message saying that I plugged a device back, all the time I did nothing.  Considering that, my audio device think it works very well, checked the cables and checked audio but I am confused.

    I just buy a new laptop (L650-OED) that is running windows 7-32 bit.

    The built-in speakers make a crackling noise and do work only intermittently. When you adjust the volume upward or down, they work for a few seconds and then cut.

    I tested the sound through the headphone jack that works perfectly. I have also reinstalled the device driver (Conexant HD Audio 4.119.0.61) but it did make a difference.

    Is there anything else I can try, or is it a warranty issue?

    Hmm. This would mean that this has nothing to do with the sound card or audio driver but with faulty speakers.

    I therefore recommend to ask a technician for a notebook check possibly speakers must be replaced. If the warranty is valid, everything must be done free of charge.

    Have c. you tried plugging the speakers on another port?

    You can run the Microsoft fixit and see if it makes a difference. Open the link below and click it on the Fixit button that fixes its sopme related problems.

    If the Fixit is not enough you might have to update the drivers of the speaker.

    I have known an intermittent sound stuttering and hesitation since doing a clean installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It is a new gateway machine.
    I did some research autour to see if anyone else has problems like this, and apparently, they usually have a driver problem... Although all my drivers are up to date as far as I can tell. No problem there, it seems. I want to be able to exclude a software problem, mainly because before I did the clean install I installed a new power supply and to reconnect everything in-house.
    Anyway... Here's what I notice;
    It seems to happen most often when I try to plug the headphones into the front audio jack.
    The slider also stutters when does music.
    I ran a check for latency and I sometimes get red spikes.
    If you guys need more information I can provide.

    Turn off all equipment with wireless (wi fi and blue tooth). They are what cause spikes of latency. Their Services the manual value and then stop them.

    I'm not savvy in computer science. Have a HP newish laptop (windows 8) and for the last 3 weeks have had problems with the sound. I connect, listen to something, then check emails, go back, and sound stopped working. I reboot, and it works. Then it will go down new. Surely, I wouldn't have to keep restarting the computer every time I want to listen to something! Very frustrating. I did various sound tests on the device and whenever it is said the speakers work... but they are not! Help!

    Try the following.

    Open windows control panel, open Windows Update, select "View update history" in the left pane and then select "Installed updates" link in the next window.

    Locate the KB2962407 update, right click and choose uninstall.  Once completed, restart the computer, open windows control panel, open Windows Update and select "Check for updates".  You will see the update that you have uninstalled just offered once again - right click and select "Hide update".

    When windows has reloaded, use the Recovery Manager to reinstall your original IDT HD Audio driver as it is stated in the document at the link below.

Sorry for the delay.  I only use the sound surround for my blueray player, and I tried the port on which it is powered through switching.  Nothing in particular cause it to happen, but it also seems to deteriorate (a little crackling with both speakers).  It happens to all speakers at once.  I'm starting to think that something starts to seriously malfunction, and it might not be recoverable.  It is only about a year, however.

    This is a default function with the volume and starting audits that scans Windows. We cannot change these beeps. I recommend that you turn off the sound.

    If your laptop does not charge and will continuously beep. Here is a link to computer will not start.

    See all the 'Reds' that says 'Adware '.  That's your problem.

    Specifically, Genieo.  This piece of software can put the most powerful Mac to its knees.  And they are very difficult to get people to install, you can put huge inviting green banners that just say "Download", and if you are on a page where you expect to download something, you can click on the thought of Ad you download anything you want.  My wife, a very experienced programmer was taken by Genieo and he did his very powerful Mac crawl.

    As this problem appeared out of the blue, I suspect an update of Windows.

    Loss of windows 8 "audio" Googling update highlights a recent update
    KB2962407. Uninstall this update solves the problem.

    Of course, I now wait to see what other problems this unistallation
    causes :-)

    You can try to remove all the current drivers first and then installing those latest. I suggest that also consult you the site Web of Conexant for latest drivers, as is the real manufacturer of the sound chip.

    This path is not easy to say why this happen and why your laptop is blocked. From time to time to check regularly stop and don t stand-by option use for an extended period of time.

    I have a 8 GB rocket. The stereo seems to reduce or cut out completely on the left side.     Hate to say it, but this sounds like a bad connection, which means a physical repair, which means that you will have to do it yourself. If it's under a year, you have a guarantee; If this isn't the case, you're kind of stuck.
