• Reading high function has stopped working

  Two days ago 10 Windows installed some updates and restarted. Once this was done, I went to use the reading high function. Read aloud on fine but when I tried so he could read there was no noise. I am legally blind and desperately need to study...

  Hi Blindchic,

  You can try to disable protected mode.

  Launch Adobe Reader, click the Edit menu and then click Preferences, under preferences, click on (enhanced) protection, uncheck enable protected at Startup Mode and click OK, close Adobe Reader and launch it again and check if you hear the sound.

  Could you please let me know if you are able to hear sounds from other applications like Windows Media Player?

• Home Profile Question

  Hello

  I'm running through our guests now upgrading to 5.1 U1a and as I am coming to the end I thought I would have a look at the profiles of the host. I understand the concept and I think I already know the answer, but I need some clarification:

  If I create a profile of the host then upgrade the host to 5.1 U1a via the VUM and apply the same host profile he will return home back to the previous version? Or it's not worth setting up only?

• Strange thermocouple at the time reads high

  I have a problem my thermocouples to high playing time. I have a cRIO 9074 with a connected to 3 K type thermocouples 9211 thermocouple module. Thermocouples monitoring 3 heat zones from a giant furnace, in which areas can be activated and deactivated with the help of a relay. When activated, the thermocouples read the temperature normally up to 800 ° C. However, when it goes beyond 800 degrees, it can seem to read normally, but when you place radiator different relay on or off, the thermocouple reading significantly changes a few times.   Yes, I could solve this problem. a LabVIEW engineer suggested this solution and it worked. See Section 3 (Nonreferenced) floating measurement of Sources at this link:

  The source of the problem was instrumentation amplifier input bias currents, causing the voltage level of the floating source to be moved out of reach. I need to add polarization resistors to provide a path of DC since the instrumentation amplifier inputs to the instrumentation amplifier ground and anchor this voltage level at a few references. I followed resistors in FIgure 10 and added two 100 kOhm for each of my thermocouples. Since then, I have much more fluctuating readings.

• FIFO DMA read high CPU usage

  Hi al, it's a long!

  I noticed a strange behaviour when I read from a FIFO DMA between FPGA and RT host on my crio (9014 controller and 9104 bottom of basket). The FPGA is writing data to the FIFO 2 points every millisecond and the loop of the RT is the reading of 500 data points each loop of the MS 250 CR period is controlled using the hold until the next ms multiple function.

  Wait until the next use means ms that during the first round, the wait will be not so I gave the FIFO DMA read method a timeout of 750ms to allow data points to accumulate on this first iteration.

  I then ran the VI and it read the data as planned and it was always 0 in the FIFO. Then using the system monitor, I noticed the CPU usage on the RIO and was surprised to see that it was 30% !

  After a lot of puzzle and many other attempts as to set the timeout to zero if delays fair read until here, I've decided are enough data points and then executes a little behind so that there is always a constant number (non-zero) of data points in the FIFO. Now, the VI runs and only use about 3% CPU.

  I thought that in the first case as I read exactly the number of points in the FIFO that I was tripping some kind of voting behavior in the playback feature which has been hogging the cpu.

  So I ran a business with a zero time-out, where I was reading with 0 points of data to the left in the FIFO as in the first case and waited to see if the delay of read but it never does and the CPU usage is normal.

  So what's happening? I'm puzzled!

  I think I can explain the use processor behavior that you are experiencing:

  Case 1: Loop with nonzero time-out

  -Your code starts with wait a multiple ms: This means that a 0-250 ms timeout occurs (on average 125 ms)

  -Then your code tries to read 500 data points in the DMA FIFO (if 500 points come in every 250 ms). All data cannot be presented yet.

  -If 500 points are not yet ready, polling occurs until they are. During the time of the poll, the CPU usage is high. Finally, the data is read.

  -The next iteration of the loop begins.

  -The code is now expected up to 250 ms after the last function call until the next ms Multiple. Roughly the same amount of data should be available by the end of this expectation as in the last iteration. Therefore, the question about the next FIFO DMA read should be roughly the same, and the CPU usage will remain high.

  Case 2: Loop with zero time-out

  -In your code, immediately after the first call to wait until the next multiple ms, you "synchronize" by reading all the remaining data from the FIFO.

  -In the next iteration of the loop, we can expect the call until the next ms Multiple wait the entire 250 m means that the data DMA FIFO (discount jitter) should be ready. If jitter is low enough, this will result in delays very little of the read DMA FIFO and a low CPU usage.

  I would recommend either using a timed loop and read the exact number of data points available (if your application can handle variable size data sets), or using a while loop as you are and make sure that the loop priorities are defined such that the CPU usage high does not affect critical functionality.

• Home Profile Answer File status still says "incomplete".

  I have a 6.0U1a of 3 nested nodes vSphere environment, and set up a profile of the host to do all my compatible hosts. I've updated the answer file and it is complete, but the State never changes to show 'Complete' and is still showing 'Incomplete', regardless of how many times I try to update and save.  Is this a bug?  Help, please...

• Is the reading high feature available in the mobile version? If so, how it access? [iOS]

  I use ios 9 on an iPhone 5.  I can't find the function read aloud on the Adobe Reader mobile.  Is there a command read aloud ?  If yes where? Or are they exspect allows you to use the iPhone reader

  Currently, Acrobat Reader for iOS does not read aloud feature high/command.

  However, it is supposed to be compatible with Apple VoiceOver (the screen reader built for iOS on iPad/iPhone).

  Would you please turn on VoiceOver (the IOS in settings > General > accessibility > VoiceOver) and navigate to a PDF document open in Acrobat Reader for iOS?  Is it read PDF summary?

  We are working on improving accessibility in a later version of the Acrobat Reader software for iOS.  Stay tuned!

• Messed up AD accounts now only have read permission in vSphere

  Problem: AD accounts now have only read permission after scoring in vSphere (using the AD accounts).

  Question: Attempt to create a account no - AD, which could connect in vSphere with read permissions only.

  1. Created a user account on the server where vSphere has been installed.
  2. Connected on vSphere with my AD account, went to tab permissions (data center level).
  3. Right click and add a new user, selected account created locally and assigned read permissions only.
  4. Connecte connected to vSphere with the local account, not only checked read permissions.
  5. Saved in vSphere with my AD account... now that he read only permissions.  Even if I never applied only read to my account.
  6. Looking the permissions tab, it seems that the read-only permission is applied to all accounts (do not know how I messed up that).

  Good news:

  • If I bypass vSphere and log on to each hypervisor directly with the root account.  I have administrator privileges.

  VMware environment:

  • Hypervisors are for ESXi 4.1 (no ESX hypervisors)
  • vSphere 4.1 Update 1 is installed on a Windows 2 k 8 Server

  We have never configured all before permissions for vSphere connections.  Once installed vSphere way back, we still just have it accessed with our accounts AD (never set permissions/groups).   I don't think that there is a way to remove this vSphere read only permissions that asks everything?

  It is a strange.  You seem to have done everything right.  It may be a strange bug.  Could attach you a screenshot if you don't mind.

  Do not panic on the problem.  It's an easy fix.

  You need to make changes to your database.  I wouldn't touch a database without a backup, then you have been warned.

  Just to be sure stop vCenter while you change the DB.

  There should be a table called "VPX_ACCESS".  You need to change the your from-2 to-1 Administrator account ROLE_ID. And I think that ENTITY_ID must be 1.

  Easy.

• Home profiles - odd request

  I have a starnge query, it's not achiveable. I have a host in a cluster and host atachehed profile for them. one day, I noticed that the application of profile control happened (don't know how-i belive this is due to the nworks in our environment, we have installed) and the army in this group is out of compliance. And now I see on the summary page of each host "Configuration problems - host is not in accordance with the profile of the attached host. My question is how to get rid of this warning message on the esx host Summary tab. I know a way to get rid of this message is to correct the problems and re-run checks of compliance - easy, all guests in line again.  But if I want to run the verification of comnplaince and that he wanted to get rid of this message. I know it sounds strange but I'm right about this - I don't want to set any profile on these hosts. Please advice.

  If you just want to remove the profiles of the host (and not use them longer):

  1 note which host profile is attached to the cluster & guests. Click the cluster, and then click on the tab 'profile of compliance '. The upper area contains information indicating "host profile: ABC" where "ABC" is the name of the profile.

  2. click on home and then choose "Host Profiles" under the administration section to see a list of all profiles of vCenter. Right-click on the 'ABC' profile found in step 1 and choose attach/Cluster host"." You will then see a window of all hosts and clusters with the attached profile. Select the cluster in the right panel 'Attached entities' and click the 'Remove' button to remove. You will be asked to remove all related hosts.

  This will effectively remove profiles of the host of your hosts.

• now, my home button reads "homeButton.label;" and does not work. Help. Thank you...

  I have on my computer, looked up and saw this "homeButton.label"; on my home button.
  I can't get rid of it in tools etc and it does not work as a command. I press to go home, in this case google, but it does nothing. At the bottom left of the page, it simply says 'Done '.

  This problem can occur if the Media Player database is corrupted. Try the following steps:

  Step 1: delete the database of Windows Media Player. To do this, follow these steps:
  a. exit Windows Media Player.
  b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.
  c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
  Note: you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
  d. restart Windows Media Player.
  Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  Step 2: Clear cache of database of Windows Media Player files. To do this, follow these steps:
  a. exit Windows Media Player.

  c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.

• Home profile noncompalint - Cluster ESXi 5.5 U2 compliance requirement

  Created the host profile and applied to multiple hosts, everything seems good but I see non-compliance profile host, all hosts are installed with U2 5.5 ESXi and identical configuration for all guests.

  Cluster compliance requirement:

  Fault tolerance is not supported on this host. Reason:

  Fault tolerance is not supported on this host. FT recording is not enabled

  Create you and/or enable traffic FT in one of you VMkernel interfaces? Otherwise have a look: KB VMware: a cluster shows as non-compliant on the Cluster compliance tab

  If your processor is not compatible with FT, you can disable this check: VMware KB: conformity of disabling fault tolerance checks on a cluster

  I know that reading aloud function disappeared from Acrobat and Reader 11.0.11 on Mac, but not the version of Windows.

  No idea if it was intentional or a bug... If this is the version you are using, I suggest a downgrade to an earlier version or the upgrade to DC.
