Home screen on network sharing

Hello

I installed a mac mini to run as a server for my iTunes library. Because it doesn't have a screen, I want to make it work using screen sharing. When the mac mini is connected via wifi, this works without a problem (using either a MacBook or an iMac, either by wifi). However, I'd rather have the Mac Mini connected directly to my Time Capsule using a UTP cable, but then I can access is no longer using screen sharing. The Mac Mini can connect to the internet when it is attached to the TC, so that the connection seems to work very well. Should I change the configuration of the TC to allow wifi access to the local network of screen sharing?

Summary of the configuration

Modem in Bridge mode

TC as a router (2.4 and 5 Ghz networks separated)

Mac Mini (2007, mountain lion)

MacBook pro on El Capitan

iMac on Mavericks

Many thanks in advance,

Giovanni

What is interesting a... it shouldn't make any difference whether you use ethernet or wifi.

When you swap to ethernet... Please turn off the wireless on the mini and the restart of the entire network...

What model is the TC? I can try and reproduce the problem.

    Hi Birdwell,

Where exactly your system is getting blocked? Is it on the logo Windows XP or after that?

Try pressing CTRL + ESC (simultaneously) to get the Task Manager, click Application-> new task-> chkdsk /f C :-> OK. You will be asked to schedule the scan of the drive, select Y (Yes) and restart your pc. If even then try CTRL + ESC-> task-> Application-> new Manager task-> msconfig-> Ok

    If everything fails-> Manager-> Application task-> new task-> sfc / scannow-> ok.

  • Can someone help me with the problem of Vista Home Wireless (unidentified network)

I recently replaced my wireless router and now I get "Unidentified network - Local access" when you try to connect to my network.

This problem occurs only with this computer Vista Home.  (All other wireless devices have any problems (Win7 netbook, iPad, PS3, etc).)
ipconfig/all shows me a valid ip address, subnet mask and gateway also seems to have a Mac address of zero.
Norton Internet Security was installed, but I have removed and still have the same problem.

    Hello

Position of your router would be suspicious here. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.

  • How to put a WIFI-connect button directly on the home screen?

    Hi all

I know there is a wifi - connect button in the notification Panel, but I have to turn on my screen, open the Control Panel, then click on the "quick settings" button, then click on the WiFi connect button... " 4 actions connect within my own wifi network!

(Note that I don't want the automatic connection setting because I don't want to be connected to each time)

I wish I had just a "wifi - connect ' on my screen which allow me to connect just by clicking this button."
I can't find a widget or application in my phone to do this.

    Do you know how?

    Thank you very much
    Guy

    Hello

The best thing would be to follow the advice of dandy63of s, by downloading a third-party application that can handle it. The closest you can get this as standard (without having to download any third-party application), would be to add a shortcut to settings > Wi - Fi. This can be if you long press on an empty space on your home screen > select Apps > shortcuts > settings > Wi - Fi.

  • The taskbar on the top of my home screen.

I have a taskbar on the top of my home screen on my Dell INSPIRON 15 laptop, when I restarted yesterday the task bar was gone, he had my webcam, Firefox, recycle bin etc. shortcuts on it and let me know how to get it back please

Here is an article on the Dell docking station which is what I think you're talking about. http://www.delldock.com/help/intro.htm.

In short, go to start / all programs / Dell / and then double-click Dell Dock to open it.

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  To restore it in the start menu as it was before.  If you want to test to see if it corrects the problem, restart and make sure that the Dell docking station appears.

If it is not, after return and we will go over some options to check why it is not the case and see if we can do it restart automatically.

    I hope that this helpss.

    Good luck!

  • 'Home' vs 'Business' network Type - how do I confirm the selection?

I want to configure my system Windows 7 SP 1 as part of a "Business Network", "without a domain name", that is, a working group on "business network."  (A "homegroup" is not an acceptable option for me.)

Although there are several threads on this topic, none solve my problem permanently.  (For more details, see my thread prior to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-security/home-vs-business-network-choice-can-you-get-back/74a872bf-18d4-437b-99b2-ded5fa60df4e?tm=1418982314037, where it was suggested that I re-post in this subgroup.)

I finally discovered that you can return to this choice (initially offered during the initial installation of Windows) with the following selections: "Control of configuration\systeme and Security\System," under "computer name, domain and workgroup settings," click on "Change settings," than "Network ID".  The confusion comes partly because there seems to be no way to verify that the desired choice in fact is is - which dates back to the same place after that required restarting appear "Business Network" and "with a domain' screened any choice made.

I would be very grateful to anyone who can shed light on this case. -JCW2

Well Yes.  If you run Process Monitor and track the registry keys that are changed, you can look at what made the wizard.  You can skip the wizard and use the small circle radio points (work/domain group) and it does the same thing.  The wizard is there as a more user-friendly interface with more descriptive text intelligible, but it does nothing else.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones and five icons home screen - I am very confused

Just got a 8520 on AT & T. My "home screen" is made up of the intensity of the signal icon, icon of Wi - Fi, time and Date in the upper part, the SSID of the network I can be connected to, indicator battery and profile - this is at the top of the screen.

At the bottom of the screen are 6 icons and somehow they all ended up to be the message profile that I put in place, so it's ok. IF I hit the Menu button, I get the rest of the icons/folders in a 6 X by matrix. That's ok too; I can easily move icons in this area, em file within the application files, replace ONE of the 6 icons at the bottom of the screen.

IF I press THE MENU BUTTON AND hold pressed JUST a MORE HAIR THAN NORMAL - and this is the background of my question - between the icons on the top screen and the low screen (6) icons, I get a 'bar' with 5 icons random orientation, that is, I don't know how or why they are there.

I've seen posts here and elsewhere - I assume "crackberry" is a term of Endearment between users? -people having problems with their "darlings" and I wonder if this could be what I see, a favorite bar. IF this is the case, can someone please tell me how I can or IF I can place the icons I want in this bar of the home screen mysterious (to me)?

And just FYI, it is up-to-date in its software revision. As soon as I got the Desktop installed software he wanted until the software so...

    Thanks in advance.

These icons you see are the applications running on your phone. There are 5 that are always on and running in background: browser, phone, home screen, Messenger of BB and Messages.

If you have other applications running, they will automatically appear here.

As for the 6 icons at the botom of your home screen, here 1 6 icons you see when you hit the key BB (not pressed, simply by pressing once). You can move any icons you want in these 1st 6 positions so that these applications can be reached easily from your home screen.
