  As you can see here, your MBP can, indeed, support for 16 GB of RAM. However, DIMMs must meet Apple specifications which are often much more demanding that really meant DIMMS for PC can meet. One of the advantages of buying from OWC (in the link) is that they provide 100% support so their products need to be designed with the Mac in mind. If you have no problem with DIMM Apple, but you do with Corsair DIMMS, I would say getting them replaced or, better yet, to get a refund.

  If you are connected to internet through being directly connected to a modem via ethernet. You should be able to ignore the WIFI configuration prompt.   Basically, the computer in question belongs to my 85 year old mother and she has had a computer at home and used it for years - all members of the family, in fact, had access to it.   Wow. It's a saga. First, back up any data you want to save, and then do a clean installation of Windows because it worked without any protection. The chances are extremely high that the computer is infected while only a clean installation will be useful.   To answer your question, there is no limitation on having more than one administrative user account. However, there are no technical solutions to family problems. You can clean this computer and set it up properly, but if the buddy has access, you will soon be back to where you are now.
