Homegroup Windows 7 there is no homegroup on the network - various solutions already tempted

Client computers running Windows 7, both can create a homegroup, but can't join a homegroup that was not created by itself.  It is connected to the router, the other using the wifi.  Network discovery is on, ipv6 is enabled in the settings of the card (although no connectivity does record - I read that the residential groups cannot be created without ipv6, but I can create them so I think that this is not a problem), having run homegroup troubleshooter on two computers without result.  One thing that bothers me, is that the troubleshooting says my time is not synchronized with my local standard time, but it is.  I tried to leave or remove the homegroup several times.  I disabled the firewall and the computers can't see each other on the network, only a question mark with the legend "unknown".  The required services are running.

It's really quite ridiculous and I'm at my wit's end.  Someone has AN idea of what could be the problem?

Hello

Programs require resources that go beyond a single file that can be run by the network, so access to the hollow of the network program is not a very functional thing. Unless these are specific programs that have been designed for this purpose.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • Your computer is connected to the domain?

There could be several reasons for this cause and to diagnose the problem, we can try the following steps and check.

Step 1: Check if the network discovery is turned on.

Please refer to: enable or disable network discovery

Step 2: Check Event Viewer for detailed information on the problem. Consult the following links.

    Open event viewer

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer)

Step 3: Search the computer browser service, if it is running.

    1. click on Start, type services.msc in the start search.

    2. search for the computer browser service.

    3. right click on the computer browser service and select Properties. Check if it is started.

    4. If it is stopped, select Start or restart. Make sure that the service is started and set as Automatic.

    5. click apply and OK, if you make any changes.

Step 4: Temporarily try to disable the antivirus on the computer program and check if the problem persists. If you are able to connect, you may need to check for updates and firewall settings in the security software.

Note: Check that you activate your anti-virus protection on the computer back after you complete these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. It's just to solve the problem.

    Disable the anti-virus software

Step 5: Make sure that the name of the network working group is the same for all computers. Also try disabling some protected sharing and check for the issue.

    1. Open advanced sharing settings by clicking theStart button, thenControl Panel. In the search box, type network, click network and sharing Center, and then in the left pane, click change advanced sharing settings.

2 click to expand the current network profile.

    3. by password protected sharing, click turn off password protected sharing, and then click save changes.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Also, try to perform a SFC scan to see if it solves the problem. Read the following article.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

  • Computer Windows Vista says it is connected to the network 4. I don't know what is network 4.

on the bottem of my screen where the icons were similar to the he mcfee icon and symbol of volume there is a picture of 2 small computer screens, and when I scroll above him, it says connected to the network 4. I don't know what network 4 is and I have never seen this before and the other day I saw him and it says connected to network 2. I would like to know if anyone can help me in this matter. What network average 4?

    original title: bottem icon

This icon is the icon of your network. You don't say what kind of network you are using. However, I will give you an example. If you repeat your network connection or use a network USB key and plug the key to another USB socket and create a new Windows login will name each new connection 4 then 2 then 3 and so on. You can rename the connection to your liking. To rename the link to right click on the network icon in the notification bar, click Network and sharing Center, click on manage network connections, right-click your network connection icon and click Rename.

  • Why are there two routers listed in the Network Infrastructure?

I have a Linksys WRT54G2 router, but sometimes when I look at my network in the control panel it shows an extra router, that router ghost appears in the title of the Network Infrastructure. It's a WRT160N. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it isn't.

    I have Windows 7.

Why this is part of my network? Should I be worried? How can I stop it arise?
Here is a screenshot of the problem:

    Hey DavidVX,

I found a few other similar topics you can check below:
On a thread, the user was able to match the MAC address of the window of the Network Infrastructure to an open wireless network (unprotected) nearby. This seems to be the case for multiple threads, I found elsewhere on the internet.
Given that I have found so many other similar threads on the same issue, I would consider it is safe and I would just ignore it.
If I find a solution to them, I'll let you know!

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 + scan if there is no configuration for the network folder

The printer is wireless to my router and I connect to a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable.  The computer is running Windows 7SP1 Home Premium 64.

During the original installation of the printer 3 days ago, I used the wizard set up 'scan to a network folder' a record 'scans public '.  He created the 'profile' correctly and worked well the first time I scanned (I scanned the 3 or 4 times with different tweaks to experiment).  However the next day it no longer worked error on the printer was, 'could not connect to \\Computername\Public scan. Check that the remote computer is on. "Obviously, the computer was on, some communication problems only happened from one day to the next day, he was sitting unattended.  Hmmmmm.  Note that the option "Scan to Computer" works very well, so communication is simply no "scan to network folder" option and I really want to scan to a network folder.

I went in a private "Scans" folder on my account and created a share as 'DadsScans', creating permissions and following all the tips I've come across so far.  Then I tried many times with the wizard to create a new configuration in the profile and all have failed and yes I found the network and turned on file sharing.  Also remember that it worked fine the first night?

I tried to enter the local path to the folder (C:\users\dad\My analysis) with a share name (DadsScans), but the error message after choosing the option "test and save" was, "error.  Your printer cannot connect to the server.  Press 'Back' to correct the address and the name of the server.  Setting is not saved. »

I then tried to enter the share name directly in the path of the network folder, like "\\computername\DadsScans", but the error was "error.  Your printer cannot connect to the server.  Press 'Back' to correct the address and the name of the server.  Make sure that network discovery and file sharing are turned on... "Note, I also tried,"\\computer Address\DadsScans IP"and got the same error.

Finally, I disabled my firewall and my anti-virus in real time and tried again and got the same error messages.

Once again, my network discovery and file sharing are on and it worked fine the first time I've used suggesting that everything was fine.  What happened during the night, so that the printer and computer sitting idle?  I've changed NOTHING!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well well, after several hours of attempts to solve the problem, the 'light bulb went on!  The night after that I configured the "scan to network folder" option, we had some difficulties with our network so I reset our modem and DSL router.  Who cleaned the problems of network with devices.  It is apparently broke something with the communications between the scanner and the computer.  A simple re-start the computer tonight and wa - la, the original public scan I configure worked again and I could create new profiles of "scanning to '!
