  Hi people!

  After the update of Windows 10 birthday I have problems with my sound card. There are two sound cards listed by Device Manager. The first is "Conexant Audio of ISST" and the second "Intel High Definition Audio". I know not weather it was the case before the update. I just recognized it after the update when I had sound problems.

  In any case, on a sound start works on the other boot it does not work. It seems that Windows chooses the sound card, every time when it starts. Sometimes it takes the bad sound card.

  I tried to uninstall maps its and their resettlement. On the HP site, there is a driver for the Conexant map bot no driver for Intel High Definition Audio card. 10 Windows itself is not find a driver for this sound card. I also tried to reinstall the other drivers, chipset drivers for example. But unfortunately it did not help. I also tried to disable the Intel High Definition Audio, but also without success.

  What else can I try? I don't want to reinstall Windows. There must be a solution without this. Any ideas? Here's a screenshot of my device manager, perhaps it helps:

  Looks like some program prevents the Gallery to save changes, this usually occurs with a backup software that monitors changes in the files. Sometimes the software that allows us to make changes think the file is open somewhere else and it will not save.

  You can try to perform a clean boot to see if a startup program is causing the problem.

  To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. This article describes how to solve problems in Windows Vista by performing a clean boot. This article also describes how to start the Windows Installer service and how to reset the computer so that it starts as usual.

  Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.

  If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

  a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.

  Step 4: Enable half of the startup items

  a. perform a clean boot by repeating step 1.

  b. click on the Startup tab and then click to select half of the check boxes in the startup item list.

  Step 5: Determine whether the problem returns

  If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have originally selected in the startup item list.

  If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the startup item list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

  If only one startup item is selected in the startup item list, and you still experience the problem, start selected in the list element is the service that is causing the problem. Go to step 6.

  If no startup item causes this problem, a Microsoft service most likely the cause of the problem. To determine which Microsoft service may be causing the problem, repeat step 1 and step 2 without selecting the hide all Microsoft services check box in each step.

• Solution for Webcam sleep & back problems after the upgrade to Windows 7

  Just thought I'd share the solution I recently found a problem I've had since a Satellite Pro A200 GE 26 Q of the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.

  I installed the software webcam for windows 7 on the toshiba site and built-in Chicony camera would work very well after a reboot, but if the computer is in sleep for a long enough period, the unit would stay asleep when the computer woke up and wouldn't work at all, unless the computer has fully restarted.

  The solution lies in a change in the registry to force the computer to update the webcam USB controller is attached, after the release of sleep. It was apparently the default for Vista when it was released, but was changed in Vista SP1 and Windows 7. Designed for Vista original material which did not have its drivers/registry updated entries could therefore be subject to a failure because of changes to the default settings through the updates of windows. Toshiba, it seems, do not think that this issue then of the extinction of the registry fix for Win7 upgrades for the satellite Pro A200. Therefore fix manually.

  You do NOT have the file of the fix, you must only make the change to the registry described later.

  You need turn on the camera while you do the following to make sure that it appears in Device Manager correctly.

  Step 1: Determine the specific USB host controller

  # The * view * menu, click on * devices of * connection *.

  # Expand each USB host controller node, and then expand successive subnodes until you find the name of the device that is failing. For example, the device entry might look like the following: ACPI Multiprocessor PC\Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System\PCI Bus\Intel (R) \ICH8 family USB Universal Host Controller - drive root Hub\fingerprint 2830\USB * (Note: for me, I found the webcam to ACPI x 86 PC\Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System\PCI Bus\Intel (R) \ICH8 family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283A\USB Root Hub + USB Composite Device\Chicony USB 2.0 Camera-based) *.
  # When you have located the device, right click on the associated and then USB host controller click on * properties *. In the example that is listed in step 6 you would right-click * Intel(r) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller-* 2830, then click on * properties *. (* Again, for me it was different - ICH8 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283 a *).
  # Click on the * details * tab.
  # Select * pilot key * in the list. The driver key will look like the following. Note the last four digits of this driver key. {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000} \0002 * (on my system it's: (36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000) \0005*).
  
  
  

  Step 2: Add the ForceHCResetOnResume registry value for the USB host controller

  # You must search the registry subkey by using the value that you noted in step 9 above. For example, if the key of the pilot to step 9 is * {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000} \0002*, then you need to get * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Class {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} \0002. (For me, as mentioned above, this was \0005 (36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000)). *
  # On the * Edit * menu, point on * New * and then click on * DWORD value *.
  # Type# * ForceHCResetOnResume * to the name of the DWORD and then press ENTER.
  # Right click * ForceHCResetOnResume * and then click on * edit *.
  # In the * boite box the value data, type# 1 and then click on * OK *.
  # Exit the registry editor.
  # Restart the computer.

  This fixed the problem for a long time for me. I'm writing this in case it helps someone else who has the same problem. If anyone from Toshiba never reads this, you might consider adding the registry fixes for upgrades of windows 7 on the download page for this & all other models affected.

  But I want to add something: before you make or change something in the Windows registry, make a backup of it. In the worst cases, restore you the old Windows registry. Just to be sure ;)

  We have designed a search custom as an aspx page that uses the Indexing Service to search for content in a set a which coexist document types (doc, pdf, xls, etc.)

  We moved to a Windows Server 2003 Indexing Service to Windows 2008 and since the Indexing Service has stopped the search pdf files. The search returns only another type of pdf files.

  On the new server where the Indexing Service, I installed Adobe PDF iFilter 11 for 64-bit platform, I think it's the plugin the Indexing Service uses to find the content of pdf files.

  Does anyone got the Search Indexing Service content in PDFs on Windows 2008 server?

• HELP ME PLEASE! Several problems after the installation of Windows 7.

  Freezing programs, icons changed, customization does not work, on the taskbar icons are invisible. What can I do to fix these problems? For example when I click on firefox or IE, it is just thinking about and begins to (almost) never, or if I click with the right button on the icon and select anything on the list it is just there and and think. All my icons are similar to a piece of paper on my desk instead of recycle bin icon or the icon of firefox. When I right click on my desktop to change background it justs sits there and think and if TI dioes works all photos are empty. Just like my pictures if you consider them the sticker, they are virgins but if you click on the image that they invent it and you can see, please help...

  I am running Windows Vista 64 Home Premium version and had been successfully using an all-in-one HP PSC 2355 printer until yesterday, I installed Windows Live Essentials. Photos, in particular, never get to the file printing.  The TEst Page from Windows printer shows printer is installed correctly. Have tried to reset the printer (unplugging / plugging) without success. Have not found new drivers for the printer.  What should I check before I agree to replace the printer?

  OK, so auto-hide taskbar would stop working, very frustrating because I keep up - so I followed the suggestion in line and 'refreshed' FF. Who sets auto hide taskbar, bookmarks, always there, but my game of the opening of the tabs (I keep one session to another) have disappeared.

  So I did a restore of the system to the most recent point yesterday morning and this indeed restore tabs from opening, but now bookmarks disappeared. Found in the location of the profile and there is nothing in the bookmarks backup folder.

  What is going on? Is it my computer or FF? What should I do now?

  I have an old desk that has most of the bookmarks on it so that I can transfer if need be, but I want to know what the devil is going on because it's very unstable obviously and I need to count on my browser.

• Portege M700 rotation problems after the upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit

  I've upgraded to windows 7 yesterday evening on my portege m700. It is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I installed all the drivers in 64-bit on Toshiba page and the Windows section. Everything works perfectly except the screen does not properly rotate when in tablet mode. I can press ctrl + alt + arrow keys to rotate, and I can also use the windows Mobility Center to rotate 90 degrees at a time.   Do more research, I fount out is an old bug with Lenovo's Thinkpad laptops with this Brazilian keyboard.

  This procedure will unlock all your user (not system files) files and reset their ownership, permissions and default access controls. Do that after checking these settings that did not cause the problem. If none of that is meaningful to you, you need not worry about this, but do not follow the instructions below.
