HotSync of Palm M515 of replacement

I've been using Palm for many years and the death of my previous machine

I bought a second hand M515-

I tried to hotsync with Palm 6.2.2 that is on my computer and

that contains my personal data...

It seems to be a binding problem here that Hotsync does everything just for me...

I read all the info from Palm I can find and I go round in circles.

Am hoping there may be someone out there who can give me some advice please...

Hello leatherwood, welcome to the Palm support community.

More information is needed to help you.  What OS is on your computer?  XP?  Vista 32 bit?  Vista64bit?

If Vista 32 bit, have you read this thread? :

http://forums.Palm.com/Palm/board/message?board.ID=windows_hotsync&thread.ID=38625&jump=true

You said it was second hand.  Did perform you a Hard Reset to clear all the precedents of the user data?  If this is not the case, the device will never find your data on your PC as it will search other user's data.   Hard Reset of the device, then when you perform a Hotsync tell him to "Use existing account" and choose your initial user name from the list.

  • Palm M515 - Windows Xp - cannot HotSync! Help, please

Well, I'm going to this for a few hours because I received my used Palm m515 and cannot get it to HotSync with my computer. Someone at - it a step by step how to sync it? I get an error message on my palm, saying that it can not connect and I have to configure my settings. I tried to switch to palm desktop and it says that my Com1 port is not open? Any suggestions?

The first thing you should do when a part receiving device is Hard Reset to turn the unit to the factory settings and erase all their information. When the device's HotSync ' ed, a hotysnch user name is applied to the device. If you do not use the same username in Palm Desktop, when you synchronize, it won't recognize the user name and cause problems HotSync ' ing.

  • Synchronization of Palm M515 & Outlook 2000 suddenly stopped functioning...

I have a Palm M515 I synchornize all day in Outlook 2000 by using HotSync Manager 4.1.0. I have been using this setup for years, and it suddenly stopped working. I get the error message on the screen of my Palm: "the connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your Setup and try again. "I tried all of the fixes recommended by Palm for troubleshooting synchronization without success. Y at - it ideas?

Plug in your device and do not perform Hotsync. Then right click on 'My Computer' (on your PC) and go to "Properties". Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. Once there, you should see the Palm under Bus USB controllers or network adapters. Once you have located the device, right click and click on uninstall. As soon as you click on uninstall, disconnect the device from your computer. Allow the driver to completely uninstall and then reconnect your device to your computer and try a hotsync operation.

This process is called reload the drivers. Let me know if it works for you.

  • Sign up for Palm m515

    Hello

I got my Palm m515 for a few years, it was given to me as a gift so I don't have the receipt.

I can't save this device because I can't read the registration by the code number bar at the rear of the unit, because it is blurred.

Y at - it another way to achieve this.

Hello kenmay52 and welcome to the forums of Palm.

On your Palm, tap the Home icon to take you to the application launcher, if it is not already displayed.  Then, tap the Menu icon.  Press Info on the App menu.  This will bring up the information screen.  Click the Version tab along the bottom of the screen.  When you do, you will see the Palm OS version that is installed on your device (probably Palm OS 4.0) and the serial number of the device.

    Hope that helps,

  • Customize HotSync Mgr 7.02 2 replace Palm Desktop?

    Hello

How can I customize the Palm HotSync Mgr 7.02 for the Pocket PalmT5 to overwrite the Palm Desktop Access 6.2.2?

I'm not a beginner, but I'm not a person who is familiar with pipes, exactly. So, please explain in more direct terms, if you have answers, what I should try to do.

    Thanks in advance.

    To change the lines on handheld hotsync replaces desktop;

    1. Click on the HotSync icon in the Windows taskbar and select settings.
    2. Click the link for Applications
    3. Select led him to change, and then select change.
    4. Together the conduit to the handheld overwrites desktop.
    5. Change each led on handheld overrides desktop.
    6. The synchronization of the PDA to the PC.

If you do not check the box 'set as default' changes will last for 1 sync. If you synchronize and that you have a problem with the sync, make sure that go you back and change the Pocket lines replaces desktop.  You can set the lines to "set as default" when you try to get the data on the PC. After you have the data on the PC, change the lines to synchronize the files.

  • Looking for Palm M515 Internet app

I have a M515 is currently used with a Win XP Pro box to synchronize over the Internet with a proprietary database.  I'm migrating to Windows 7, and of course there is no USB drivers for the M515 that will work for Win 7.

The solution I found is to run in XP Mode in Virtual PC running on the Windows 7 computer.  I've done this and installed Palm Desktop 4.1.4 and can do a Hotsync "regular" as well.

However, when I install the lines provided by the company that manages the database, the synchronization operation fails with a cryptic error: "Unable to write data to the client database."

Technical support was not very useful.  Their main suggestion is to uninstall and reinstall their leads software.  It does not help.  Their suggestion was that maybe the firewall or a / v intrudes.  They have said, "check the list of exceptions and make sure that Hotsync manager is a program allowed to access the internet."  Of course, on the box 'normal' XP, Hotsync manager is NOT on the list of exceptions, but I added it anyway in my virtual XP machine.  No help.

I'm running the XP virtual machine as a user with administrator rights, so permissions should not be a problem... but I can't get technical support to identify the files to look at anyway.

I would like to find an application add-on free that I could install that accesses a Web site, a bit as AvantGo used to do, I can't support that other software on the Palm can access the Internet fine.  I can't find something.  Everyone wants webbrowsers today, that does not match the idea of sync'ing once a day or more.

For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.  If I can't do this work on a virtual XP machine, I'll have to find a place to put a dedicated XP box that does nothing but provide a warm host my M515 of synchronization.

Check in the Windows Hotsync jury for 64-bit ACCEECA USB drivers which referred to as akid.  Also, if you try to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 you should also try the www.pimlicosoftware.com freeware utility called PalmHotsyncSetup.  This utility adds inherited (i.e. old) Palm OS Palm Desktop 6.2.2 device compatibility.

  • Centro HotSync with Palm V6.2.2 hangs on the AGENDA - no record of calendar on the Palm Desktop

First of all, let me say that I hate the new version of Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and ongoing problems, I do a hotsync.  Today, I had to restart my computer I "uninstalled" an unrelated program on my computer.  When I rebooted my computer and open my Palm Desktop, all calendar data was gone.  Since my Centro has recently been hotsync d, I hung up and tried to synchronize.  The device and the desktop 'locked' in the CALENDAR function.  I found another post on the Forum where people from tech support says to 'download the trial version of Pimlico DbFixit' which I did and ran.  It indicates a problem too: DB-SNLT calendar: Both Description and Note are empty - usually a registry damaged.  REC = Date of 1508 = 11/01/09.  I also went in Palm Desktop and in the section 'Applications' found 'AGENDA' and the Nations United CHECKED.  Execution of hotsync again once allowed me to update everything EXCEPT the calendar.

HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM AND GET THE TIMING BACK ON MY DESKTOP?

I basically he fixed me after having used the trial version Dbfixit.  Your person to help chat told me to buy the product and then allow it to correct any errors in my data base.  It would have been a waste of money that the fix was easy once I knew what was wrong.

  • Treo 755 p (Sprint), will not hotsync of Palm 6.2, accidents on the calendar

After you download 6.2 to view media on my Vista system (32 bit), I cannot hotsync, as it crashes during the synchronization of the diary/calendar. I spent hours chatting online with the support without success. I downloaded dbscan, all done, always without success. I can't seem to get 6.2 to work and am not sure why. Has anyone else was able to resolve this conflict?

    Thank you!

    Did fix those errors?

Did you buy DBFixit and do a full scan and difficulty of the database?

If you cleaned the database using the products of Pimlico and still problems sync'ing the data, you can try a hard reset, but if the data is the issue then synchronization will put the issue on the device.

  • Palm m515 and Windows 7 (64 bit) - help!

In reading previous posts, I get that there are no drivers for Windows 7, in particular the type of 64-bit, and we cannot synchronize via USB.

Also, I couldn't find a way to download data from backup of the old palm pc software to the new, even important files saved to program folder or a memory stick. I can simply not my stuff from my Palm or the old computer to the new office.

Is there something to be done about it (will there be pilots soon?), or has someone finds a solution for this yet?

I'm going quietly crazy... Please tell me the good news.

Here is the place you can buy USB adapters IR
    http://www.usbgear.com/USB-infrared.html

Although none of them say that they are compatible with Windows 7. You may need to do some research to see one to use as a better option, or roll the dice and hope you find one that works. It has been my experience with Windows 7 which for most everything that works on Vista will run on Windows 7 as well, so you can be lucky to catch one that is compatible with Vista and it works with Windows 7.

  • HotSync the Palm foldable keyboard connection error

    Hello

I used a foldable keyboard (P10802U) for years and it worked fine on my M505 and my T3. I recently started giving me an error when I try to connect to the keyboard. It attempts to launch Hotsync and displays an error message that says: "the connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your configuration and try again. I downloaded and installed a new version of the keyboard.prc. This seems to be ineffective. No change.

Can someone tell me what is happening here? Is this a kind of collision of software or has my keyboard suddenly auto destroyed while I watched?

What kind of information do you need from me to make a decision?

Everyone had / has a similar problem? Is there a solution that does not involve a new purchase?

Any help would be appreciated at this point, until I started delving into the dark and really break something.

    Kind regards

    Deadoweyn

To SOLVE my problem... I put it in the cradle and did a Hot Sync with computer... who has restored the settings. I can use the folding laptop keyboard again! All that I really want the PDA to write away from office... then load in the Office for further editing. Wonderful device!

  • Palm m515 backlight does not turn on

Recently have been unable to activate the backlight.  Suggestions?

You cannot launch the backlight so long same press of the power button?

You can launch the contrast in the Graffiti area?

I suggest to do a hard reset of the device if possible if none of these things work.
