HotSync over Bluetooth to my Centro

Here's the question:

(1) I am able to transfer files back black and white my laptop and the Centro Bluetooth

(2) I can't use DUN to connect to internet on my laptop using my phone as a modem.

When I try to do a HotSync via the same port through a bluetooth after about 2 minutes, it gives me the following message "the connection between your handheld computer and the desktop cannot be estabilished. Please check your configuration and try again. »

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your replies.

I have cheked which and sound through the bluetooth on the phone device and the serial port of the computer.  After troubleshooting for more than 2 hours with Palm support on the phone, we learned that with hardware Toshiba Bluetooth integrated, it can only hot synch on LocalCOM-Server [SerialPort (Toshiba LocalCOM)], although we can transfer the file to another port but HotSync works only on this port.  Interesting, but makes sense now.

    I have a Centro phone.

He hotsyncs fine via bluetooth on my Vista laptop connection.

I just got a laptop HP mini with Windows XP on it.  When I change the type of hotsync for station host/cable to the phone and press the hotsync button, everything hangs to this message number 2.

    Any ideas?

When you hotsync and he hung up as you describe, this usually indicates corrupted data. What you can do, is go to this link http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm and download DBFixit on your PC. You will then need to go into the Hotsync Manager and set lines calendar and Contacts to do nothing. And then synchronize the device that will install DBFixit on your Centro. Once it is there, you can run it and it will tell you where the corrupted data and you can remove it and then it must synchronize your data. The download is free, but if DBFixit there like 20 or more corrupt pieces of data, you can buy DBFixit (I think it's like 12.95 or more) you can run it again and it will find and fix all corrupted for you data. If the free download is only one or two corrupt elements, it will tell you which ones you can go find them and delete manually yourself, then synchronize. If the link above does not work, you can copy and paste into your browser. I hope this helps...

  • Bluetooth fails on centro!

Hi, I have a Centro and have recently added a microsd card, as recommended by the manufacturer, but now my Bluetooth is not working, every time I go to connect it says connection failed. Help appreciated, thanks.

Switch the phone off, remove the battery and wait a minute or two, then put back them.  Then try to BlueTooth.

  • Restoration of hotsync after Hard Reset Palm Centro

    Hello

My Palm Centro was freezing randomly and in particular whenever someone called me. As this was very annoying, I performed a Hard Reset of the device. Before I did I did a Hotsync to back up everything (or so I thought).

Now when I do another hotsync after Hard Reset nothing is restored, the only things on the device that were there before are the photos that were on the memory card. All my Contacts, phone numbers, notes, calendar entries and everything disappeared. How can I restore them?

EDIT: Ive since found all my contacts, calendar entries, memos, etc. in the application of "Palm Desktop" in Windows XP. How to I move from the computer on the Palm Centro?

    -Aussieguy

When you hotsync it will ask for a user name, be they existing or invites you to create a new.

you remember what username you assigned when you do the front hotsync.

You also said that you can see your information in palm desktop, check the user name in the upper right corner where you see the user name.

regardless of the user name displayed in the area where you can also see your data, this is the username correct to decide when you hotsync.

now, your device is empty so kindly do the hard reset on it and then try to hotsync, but this time, you should be able to know what username to choose.

Seems that there is some security restrictions. The Treo 650 is not known to me, but I recommend to check the ActivSync security options and add the Palm Treo 6 the list of secure devices.

  • E2, Bluetooth, LAN and Internet

I'm so frustrated.  I spent the last hours 10 tries to connect via Bluetooth to my PC so that I can access the Web and download email.  I used the guide of the Dean, and even if it did provide some progress, it still does not.  It is not that difficult.

How can I get this thing to work?

I have a desktop dell C521, modem DSL Westell 2200, a router broadband Linksys, TrendNet and Tungsten E2 blue tooth adapter.  HotSync over bluetooth works perfectly, but much slower than wired.  VersaMail doesn't and the E2 cannot load a web page.

I can't be the only person there for having this problem, but I can't seem to find other threads here that address it.

Thanks for all the help, but I solved it myself, with the help of another site.  In fact, it works very well and is far from being as slow as I expect it to be.

After many hours of reading the discussions in all these conversations - the hot sync finally worked.

    Lessons learned

    (a) make a complete ' clean uninstall software palm "-see various discussions on how to complete

    (b) uninstall Bluetooth if already installed

    (c) re - install Bluetooth (in my case was a dongle from Kensington) and let Windows applies the correct drivers * DO NOT install the software from the CD with the dongle *.

    (d) re - install the Palm software

In Hot Sync - I now have the box Bluetooth connections and followed by notes prescriped within Palm Assistance.

    Worked like a charm. Solved!

  • Using of new 64-bit drivers, but DOES not connect Win 7 & TungstenE2. Help!

After trying to hotsync over bluetooth on the new laptop with Windows 7 w / TungstenE2 and failure (serial port used by another application);  I downloaded the new 64-bit drivers provided in this message section. Problem now: no link could be established between the desktop and the device. Even if bluetooth is 'off' the device is now trying to use the bluetooth to non-working process. Tried the USB process, using the newly installed drivers. No connection.  It is now beyond my skills, and I'm in the circle of bluetooth, or the circle of 64-bit USB driver. I must be missing something!

Have you set the Hotsync Manager to use USB on your device and the computer?

What version of Palm Desktop are you using?  6.2 or 4.x?

On the E2, open the Hotsync application and display the value.  It must be defined on 'Cable', not Bluetooth.

  • COM 3 is is not available

I'm at my wits end! I have an E2 which was beautifully HotSync over bluetooth with my HP Vista SP1 desktop running. The HP locked up for printing, which is never done and I had to reboot. Now, my Hotsync does not work.

The E2 appears "unable to launch Polish HotSync because port is used by another application.

HotSync on the HP settings it tell me ' the selected com port, com 3 is not available... ". ».

Bluetooth settings show my camera and when I click on the Services tab in the properties 'Object PUsh (Obex)' is the only thing listed and it is checked. What is c? Also by clicking Services establishes a connection with my E2. ("current connection"). I have not changed the bluetooth settings (all the options are checked). On the COM port tab, there is a list for entrants, but no number of port next to him.

I don't know what to do. Help, please.

Add a new port to incoming bluetooth com tab and reconfigure the bluetooth partnership.

  • Problems HotSync - Bluetooth option missing in connections

After installing Windows 7 RC, 64-bit, I had to HotSync my Tungsten E2 with Bluetooth, rather than use the cable.  I bought and installed an Azio Bluetooth dongle (and included the Toshiba Bluetooth software) without a hitch. However, when I created my HotSync options I found that I couldn't choose Bluetooth because the option was not simply present on HotSync Manager/connections.  VERY frustrating.

Buried deep in a another thread on this forum was the solution: go to control panel | Programs, remove the Bluetooth drivers and restart.  The device is installed with the Windows drivers again.  As if by magic, the Bluetooth option appeared on the HotSync Manager Connections window and everything was good.

Of course, some computers come with the included Bluetooth option.  For those with x 64 Windows AND have the third-party Bluetooth drivers (other than Windows) AND are having HotSync problems because there is no way to activate the Bluetooth option, the hotfix may be similar - uninstall the drivers and use the native Windows drivers instead.

I suspect that this issue can come down more, that those who do not always have HotSynced with Bluetooth is now required to do it because they are moved to x 64 Vista or Windows 7.  Palm does not have this problem on one of their pages to support - that I could find.

YES!  It worked for me: "buried deep in a another thread on this forum was the solution: go to control panel | Programs, remove the Bluetooth drivers and restart.  The device is installed with the Windows drivers again.  As if by magic, the Bluetooth option appeared on the HotSync Manager Connections window and everything was good."

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • Problems of Bluetooth Hotsync Vista 64

I had this set up 3 weeks ago and it worked like a charm.  Now try to hotsync with bluetooth, once again and get the following message:

Cannot open HtSync operation because the port is in use by another application.

What in the world do I do now?

UGH!  It really helps when you turn on your bluetooth on your phone!

Sorry people!  I got this one figured out on mine!

  • OK, another window 7 HotSync approach for legacy T3

I read a lot of threads on this forum, but simply could not find a solution that corresponds to my case. I tried an apparently plausible approach, but don't have enough to work. I wonder if the gurus out there can give me a pointer or two.

I have a T3, I can only use up to Desktop 4.1.4 not something higher. If some of the workarounds would not work for me.

My new laptop is a Windows 7 Home Premium, but it of a good deal and does not have bluetooth or infrared port to speak of. Once again, an another roadblock for me.

While I was thinking, how about a network HotSync via my old Windows XP which has the network connection to my new Windows 7 laptop?  In other words, T3-> USB-> Window XP PC-> for Windows 7 laptop.   I HotSync would be on network in the past before, so I think I knew what I had to do.

BUT the ONLY problem I have is, how to create a USER in the first place on the Notepad of Windows 7 for hotSync launched across the network knows how to 'home' to the main computer?    In the past, I had to hotSync on the main computer to create the user before I can hotSync over network.

    Any idea?

Ramon, thanks to again raise this matter.

Reb1, thanks for letting me know the availability of the 64-bit driver!

Here is the link for the 3rd new 64-bit driver that works for my T3 on Windows 7 on USB:

    http://forums.Palm.com/T5/Windows-HotSync/64-bit-Palm-Desktop-drivers-are-here/m-p/337516#M58035

    1. I installed the Palm Desktop 4.1.4 on my Windows 7.

2 when you are prompted to HotSync at the end of the installation, I plugged in with the PDA cradle and press the HotSync button.

    3. I heard the beep signifying the USB device has attempted to commit, but nothing showed on the screen.

    4. I then followed the outlines the steps in the link above, and everything worked as described!

OK, for completeness, here are the steps I took to step 4 above:

4.1 I downloaded and extracted the driver 64 bit Aceeca site through the link provided in the thread above.

4.2 I opened Device Driver and found "Palm device" with a yellow warning icon.

4.3 I right click on it and select "Update driver".

4.4 I navigate to the folder where I extracted the drivers

4.5 after the driver has been installed successfully, I HotSync would once again and voila!

  • Palm Centro keeps restarting

I just performed a Hotsync operation and my Palm Centro keeps restarting; I guess due to the installation of the software.  How stop the reboot and restore my Centro to its previous state?

You will need to start over again with a Hard Reset, then synchronize with your old username after making a few changes to the name of a special folder on your computer.

On a XP box it to: C:\Program Files\Palm\ your HotSync name account short \Backup.   Name the folder of backup to anything else (for example \Backup_old).

This will allow all the data back on your phone PIM, but none of the third-party software that may be causing the problem.  HotSync is complete, you can start to reinstall the third-party programs one by one, seeking the return of the problem after each installation.

If you have a strong idea about a program that caused the problem, do not install it!

How hard reset a Palm Centro.

Go to http://kb.palm.com and enter "Solution ID" number 45050.

    In short:
    -hard reset
-Locate the backup under Palm Desktop folder folder
    -Rename in backup_old
-synchronization, select old id. This will bring back PIMs (calendar, Contacts, tasks and Memos) but no settings or programs
-Reinstall the applications one by one AFTER having checked that they are compatible with the device target.
