HouseCall?

(... a LOT to ask too many questions... I'm really sorry...)

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

basic questions...

(1) what is - this? What is a free online scan? or what?
(it is on the 1st page of google results when searching for "free online scans" [ http://www.google.com.sg/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=free+online+scans&meta=&rlz=1R2TSHS_en&aq=f&oq=] but the site needs me to download and you said all about her and she don't, which actually sound like it isn't a scan online free. so that the hell is she?)

(2) come into conflict with anything whatsoever? (I have norton 360, adaware and malwarebytes)

(3) is recommended?

Don't forget that all online scanners need to charge something on your local computer and most use ActiveX
and a bit of Java.

I can open / run firefox. It can be enlarged or resized without problem. links on desktop will open. Yet when I click on the search bar, or on what the main frame is a reagent. I reinstalled the previous versions and the more resent. nothing solves the problem. I like to use firefox and tend to have few or no problems. to recap. It turns on, can be resized, or closed, but nothing, not even the help button can be clicked. What can I do? does that mean that I need to use opera or ie to access the internet now. Oh no.

    How I solved this problem:

-uninstalled / reinstalled Firefox 16.0.1 twice (the problem was still there)

-uninstalled Firefox and checked remove personal settings / bookmarks

-cell to download previous Firefox 15.0.1 (USB transferred .exe on the desktop)

    -restarted

-reinstalled Firefox 15.0.1 (aka old version) (checked and I saw it worked)

    -restarted

It took 7 hours to fix (I was playing games on another console half the time). as is the everything works fine, once again. a few bookmarks are still missing (the weekend every week/fortnight I backup bookmarks). Well at least I can still use Firefox. I think that the problem was due to a theme that 16.0.1 couldn't run properly, so she corrupted the whole program interface. geek power-geek love.

Try again with some virus/malware scanning programs. You must use all of the programs, because each detect different malware. Make sure you update each program to get the latest version before doing a scan.

Looks like the BONE is damaged. It can be very difficult to 'fix' the windows, especially when its infected by a virus/worm/trojan.

You can try a system restore to restore the system to a previous state, if not, you will need to backup your data and perform the recovery.

A Virus scan as soon as possible. Use an online, here's a good solution: http://housecall.trendmicro.com

  • Why my Windows Firewall keep turn off briefly?

I just launched a recovery on Pavilion Media Center TV m7470n desktop my father, which has restored XP Media Edition 2005 SP2. I then installed SP3 and use Windows Update to get the latest updates. The system now works fine, but from time to time, I get a popup notification that says that the Windows Firewall is disabled. The popup balloon quickly and when I enter the Security Center Windows Firewall appears as on. I did a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials and I also tried Trend Micro HouseCall and RootkitBuster. None of the scans showed no threat, but I'm still uncomfortable with the ball of myesterious to appear several times a day. Someone saw?

Now, I think the HP software that updates the computer was responsible. I tried to get the updates by running the software myself, but he says there is no update available. After a day or two, however, he popped up and told me that several updates were waiting to be installed. After you install the updates from HP, the problem with the Windows Firewall stopped.

  • HP TouchSmart 300 connection issues

Hi, I have a HP TouchSmart 300 with Windows 7 Edition Home Premium that I bought in 2008. Yesterday morning it was working completely fine. The end of the night when I turned it on again, it took a while to start and join the log on screen. I was thinking just leave it off overnight and turn it on the next morning to see if that would help. I turned it on this morning and it took awhile to get to the log on screen, but he got there. Once I logged it took awhile to open a session and he stayed right on the Welcome screen indicating the loading circle. When he connected, the screen was black. Works and move the cursor, but everything else was black. I pressed Ctrl + Alt + Del and the usual options screen appeared. I clicked on log off. I then logged back in and it started to load for awhile then all returned to the login screen. I connected again and again the black screen with the cursor to work. So I pressed Ctrl + Alt + Del again and cliked start the Task Manager and it returned to the black screen. After 10 minutes to leave her like that the Task Manager appears but the rest of the screen is always black. I know 5 years will be a great run by a computer these days, but I just want to know if I could still save and continue to use it.

Does anyone have an idea of what might happen and how I could solve this problem?
    This happened to someone else?

    Hello Mindy123:

Welcome to HP forum. Sorry you hit hard by malware / virus. The reason I say this is because if Windows are not authentic. This is not the message, that you would see period that yours is false. There are three things you can do. 1 is try the safe mode method. Turn your computer off tension, then restart it tap f-8 keys use arrow keys select Safe mode with network. You can try to remove it by low loading verson of the trialhttp://www.malwarebytes.org/ malwarebytes scanner once he has finished and deleted everything. You can see if your computer starts normal now or if you like you can also try running a free virus scan check as well. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/  If no analysis removes the virus/malware. Your computer still is not booting properly then it in 2 safe mode this time you now open up HP Recovery Manager and perform a Microsoft System Restore. Go to all kind of research programs in the HP Recovery Manager open it select the Microsoft System Restore, click Next until you get to the dates that you select a date as far as you can. It can perform the recovery. Once, he completed see if your computer starts normal now. Sometimes this method whipes on the virus / malware. If this a not you don't have no choice but to do a restore factory, only cd discs.

Pior that put your computer in safe mode and back up your personal data files once completed. Then precede to step 3.

    3. turn on your computer and press the f-12 Recovery Manager window will open. Select Restore Factory of cd. 1 insert recovery disc follow all orders for recovery. Your computer will be slow at first until it has updated itself witch will take about three days to update. Don't worry about the updates of the trees that fail to install by the end they finley will be installed.  If you have any problems, follow these steps let us know.

If the three methods don't turn off your computer. Turn on your computer hold down Esc button for 5 seconds. Change the start of your computer in order to initialize disk CD/DVD Recovery disc 1 insert click on save and exit. Restart your computer that will automatically start to recovery. If Recovery Manager ask you how I would like to perform a recovery. Select Restore Factory disk CD and continue to follow the orders of recovery. frrw

  • My HP Pavilion Notebook has questions

Recently, I turned off my PC then started to connect, once I had entered my password that the PC got stuck on the part "Welcome" (this is the first time, it has happened and that happened for two hours). I recently got this PC not a month ago. Before I shut down my PC I was do pop ups and asked to rate sites Web etc, I noticed that it seemed to be a virus but when I scanned it, no viruses were found. The only issues with my PC are internet and my trying to connect. I would be extremely grateful for the help please.

    Hi annanurdock4045

peerone suggested its probably of malware, adware, Trojans etc.
    What antivirus do you use?
I suggest you download following the latest software of their authentic sites: malwarebytes 1) free version - scan completely & remedy in threat analysis, 2) adwcleaner - run the download file n do a complete scan n remove all found threats, 3) trend housecall - a full scan (may take several hours depending on the size of the hard drive (, mine took 6 hours) & delete or correct any threat detected.

After all this rebooting your system, download CCleaner on their website, install it do a full scan... do not change the settings. Click on correct after the scan.

Restart scan with some another antivirus online scanner again, opt for trend housecall new scan online eset, do the download, install... sweep remove n or difficulty threats detected, if any. That's all.
After all this, better do you windows defender after analysis to date for confirmation.

post your results of the analysis... If you have found any threats in any of the scans after each of them,
If it is a Trojan or a virus, you may need to restore your system to a previously affected State.

    Thank you

  • Slow satellite 1VJ-C855

    Hello

We recently bought this PC with Windows preinstalled 8. Everything works, but is quite slow. For example to start microsoft solitaire collection takes more than 5 seconds, and then it takes another 5 seconds once selected a game before he could start.
We also have a 3 years satellite 350 d with half the memory, the slower CPU and graphics card and it runs a lot faster.

A more professional example: during the audit of the antivirus of Trend Housecall, the old PC made in about 3 hours. A new with less than half of the data on it, requires more than 6 hours.
In Control Panel, I changed even the option of better graphics for optimal performance without remarkable result.

I watched a lot in a numbeer of settings without results.
Also note that we do not load many programs at startup.
    Help, please

    > We also have a 3 years satellite 350 d with half the memory, the slower CPU and graphics card and it runs a lot faster

Well, I don t think that your Satellite 350 d has win 8 installed ;)
Hardware configuration is important, but also the pre-installed software can affect performance.
So if you want to compare laptop s / s performance computer you must ensure that both machines use the same operating system, same tools, same software.

I think there are a lot of processes running in the background.
This could slow down the system.

Finally, a HARD disk failure can cause these delays too so maybe the fitness of HARD drive needs to be tested
I test my HARD drive using a free tool called Drive Fitness Test

I had a problem with the Wild Tangent game console that came pre-installed on my Dell laptop with Windows 7 OS 64 nit. I uninstalled the app, but now when I try to re - install, the program starts to install it, but the icons are missing in the Setup Panel and I can't click on anything.

    • Manually, I deleted all the old files and run a registry clean to remove old registry keys.

    • I scan a file system [SFC] Checker to see if there are problems also ensured that the windows service install is started.

    • I also recorded and saved the installer of Windows
    • I also tried to install as administrator and also tried to install it using the Windows XP settings.

I don't understand it. This program was on my computer when I got it, so I know it is compatible.

    Any help would be useful

    Hi KatSmith0629,

You have tried all necessary measures taken to address the problem and nothing seems to work, it is possible that the problem may be with the game itself.

I suggest that you try to install the game in a user account, and if this fails, then you will need to contact the game support.

    To create a user account

one) to open user accounts, click the Start button, select Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety, and then click user accounts.

    (b) click on Manage another account. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (c) click on create a new account.

    (d) type the name that you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click create an account.
