  Related to Internet explorer, you can download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org or Chrome from http://www.google.com/chrome and use them as alternatives.

  Regarding backups, I suggest avoid you the Windows backup program and you get a good commercial backup program. This forum meets for a windows problem reports. I know that I was very impressed when I tried it.   I suspect that the captions are already burned in DVD, at this point in time we can cross check if the option is set to display captions.

  You could import the movie into Windows Movie Maker, use the 'split' option, split the video to 2 or more smaller movie files, then burn each smaller movie file to separate DVDs.

  By default, the version of Windows Media Player in Windows 7 is 12. To find out what version of Windows Media player that you use:

  1. Open Windows Media Player.
  2. Press Alt keys on your keyboard, you will get the file menu.
  3. Now, go to the help tab and select on Window Media Player.
  4. This will give you the version of Windows Media Player.
