  My question is this. I have 5 unity servers that use this service account in any area, which includes Europe and the United States. If I change the password in AD all services will continue to work with the old password as long as they have not restarted with the old password? I know I need to change the password for each service that uses the account and then restart the unit, but since AD taking so long to reply, I was hoping to change the password of the account one day and then the next day or even longer when I have planned for my failure, I can then change the password for the services on each server and then restart the unit and make sure that replication is complete and the services start again with the new password.

  I think as long as I do not have to restart services can I change the password of the service account in AD a day or two before I schedule my outage can I change the password for all services, and then restart the unit. I know that I can force replication, but it would be nice to be able to change it in advance as long as it is not flexible, whatever it is.   If you have forgotten your password, if you have another user who has administrative privileges account you can log in to that account and change the password of your account of origin of the user accounts applet in Control Panel. If you do not have another account like this set upwards or that you do not have the password which you will need to log on to the built-in Administrator account. In XP Home, start the computer in Mode safe. This, by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. This will put you in the right menu.   • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you have activated the account administrator and know its password).
  • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have created such a keyfile).

  If none of these standard precautions work for you, then the remedy will be painful. Post again if this is the case.
