  Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important is able to complete your update to El Capitan at a later date! The good news is that you can simply delete the "install Mac OS X" install app in the Applications folder on your Mac. Then you can open the Mac App Store when you're ready to update and restart the download from the tab updates or searching through the Mac App Store for El Capitan.   What do you mean exactly? The creative cloud App is just that - a stand-alone app that manages your subscription CC, including the app updates and active such as files and fonts.

  You want an icon to click to run Lightroom? In this case, you would start Lightroom (not CC App) and either "pin to taskbar" (Windows) or "Keep in Dock" (Mac). If you need help doing that, just tell us what operating system you are running. If this isn't your question, please clarify what you are asking.
