How can I get a Dell J740 to work with Windows Vista Home Premium?

Someone gave me a Dell J740 printer but it won't work with my Windows Vista. As much reading as I did, I do not believe it is compatible. I wish they would do the printers to work with any laptop, computers. It would be too easy.

You seem to have stumbled in the Windows 7 section of this site instead of the part of Vista. Never mind. The answer is the same, unfortunately.

It doesn't seem to be a Windows driver for this printer for Vista or Windows 7.

  • How can I get camera Panasonic DVD to work on Windows Vista?

Original title: I have a CD-ROM supplied with my panasonic DVD camera, but this is not done for vista, how to work with vista, its been working with xp down.

How to get my drive compact panasonic dvd cameras, to work on vista, its been for xp down. model No. VDR-M70PP, compact disc # vff0249-1

The sad truth is that if the camera is not compatible with Vista, you can not do anything to make sure.  Sometimes, who works with the software (using the Compatibiliity Mode) but does not work for hardware.

Before giving up, contact Panasonic http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/DVD-Camcorders/model.VDR-M70 and make sure that it is not compatible and that they do not have drivers, firmware and/or software available to do work.  If this isn't the case, you're out of luck.

I hope that this help even if it was not exactly what you wanted to hear.

  • How can I get rid of Astromenda.in Firefox run in Vista Home Premium

I received a message that I thought was since Mozilla Firefox saying I need to update Adobe Flash Player. I did and ended up with Astromenda.

I went to control panel configuration/programs and features, Astromenda and uninstalled. Then I adjusted my options for my Firefox home page and got rid of Astromenda on the opening of Firefox. However, if I hit the '+' tab for a new tab, I get a 'search' Astromenda tab. I went to 'searchplugins' in Firefox profile and found Astromenda.xml and replaced by safesearch.xml. Did not help, Astromenda is still there when I add a new tab.

I'm going on the web and found Web sites on how to get rid of the Astromenda but they want to download me various adware cleaning tools, but I am reluctant to download anything at this point unless it is sanctioned by Mozilla Firefox.

    Thank you

  • Error code 37. I have a model CM5688E gateway with Windows Vista Home Premium. My Optiarc DVD RW AD - 7203 has enough work. How to operate again give idea? The computer is less than 2 years.

Error code 37. I have a model CM5688 E gateway with Windows Vista Home Premium.  My Optiarc DVD RW AD - 7203 has left a couple of weeks of work.  Anyone have an idea how I can get it working again?

    Hi Sunday47,

There are many causes of Code 39 errors:

    ·         A required device driver is missing.

    ·         A required binary file is corrupted.

    ·         There is a problem with the file I/O process.

    ·         A driver that refers to an entry point in another binary file cannot load.

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Run the fixit available in the link below

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060

    If the problem persists,

Step 2: Uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

    1. click on start and then click Control Panel.

    2. click on system and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.

Note If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System and then click on Device Manager.

    3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    4. in Device Manager, expand CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, right click on the device CD and DVD and then click on uninstall.

    5. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the device, click OK.

    6. restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the drivers will be installed automatically.

  • I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L305-S5894 with Windows Vista Home Premium installed (32 bit). Unable to get a backup to a flash drive. Error: 0 x 81000029

Original title: I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L305-S5894 with Windows Vista Home Premium installed (32 bit).  Unable to get a backup to a flash drive.

After back back, very many updates of windows, my computer is full of problems and it is not representative of the restore points far enough back to correct.  I want really to save my data and programs for flash drive (s) and then go for a full recovery of the system (return to factory).  When you try to do the backup on a 4 GB USB key I get an error including 0 x 81000029.  I have seen posted answers to this.  Everything is included to aid Vista disk from the window which was not included when I bought my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The following article should be useful. To use system recovery options, you have Vista installation disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repeatedly will install on the computer Windows recovery environment. To cross check if it is installed, try the following steps.

1 start the computer and press the F8 key continuously to get advanced boot menu options.
    2. on the menu advanced startup options, check if the Startup Repair tool is in the list.
    3. If so, select it and press ENTER.
    4. If not, then you should organize a Vista installation disc.

You may receive error messages when you try to perform a backup operation on a Windows Vista-based computer

    Hi kikstart2,

For the CD/DVD drive problem, try the following steps.
    1. visit the following Web site, click the "Run now" button and follow the instructions in the wizard to run the tool: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems
    2. once the tool is running, restart the computer.
    3. Insert the CD / DVD and check if it works very well.

NOTE: There is no option to repair/reinstall Windows Media Player on Windows Vista.

If the problem persists, restore the computer to an earlier time when everything worked well. To do this, try the following steps.
    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
    2. click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
    3. click on a date on which the issue moved not.
    4. click on next.
    5. click on finish.
    6. check if everything works well.
