How can I keep Firefox to open an additional page (default page) every time? I want only to open my home page.

Two tabs always open. default page 1 with my home page and the other with the FF. It is so irritating that I rarely use the Firefox browser even if its faster than IE.

Finally, I deleted all traces of Firefox on my computer, including all the stuff that uninstall has not been deleted. Then I reinstalled from scratch. That seems to work and I get now only a single tab when I open the program.

Note it is generally a last resort solution.
I suggest to all those who wish to follow this solution guarantees that they back up the Firefox profile first. See also:

  • How can I keep the start screen saver in the same place every time?

When you use the screensaver on Windows Vista,

It always starts at the same point, with the same images - no other place.

If the screen saver works long enough, you later see photos at the end.

    but it's several hours!

It is set to randomly mix - but I think that is random within each file, and I have several files in 'photos '...

Because it begins with the same file of photos, I never see the images in files at the end.

    Help, please!

    Hello Terrahterrah,

I was looking for this thread and saw that you wanted the screensaver start on another folder or pick up where he left.

Unfortunately, we cannot control this in Windows without constant human intervention.

Hello SepiaAndDust, to disable the creation of cached thumbnails enter Subject: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears). Click somewhere on the page, and then create a new Boolean preference named browser.pagethumbnails.capturing_disabled set to true.

    # 1, is the link to use HTML to simplify the interface?

Maybe it's that the site stores your preferences in a cookie, and you may have set Firefox to delete the cookie when you quit the browser. There are a few built-in ways to do this:

    • The Firefox value "keep [cookies] until: I close Firefox" on the Privacy Options (you can create an exception for your messaging sites)
    • The value 'Clear history closing Firefox' Firefox on Privacy Options
    • A private browsing window allows to visit the site of your mail

It is also possible that the modules or external software can clean the cookies, or that there is a problem with the database file Firefox uses cookies to store.

    # 2, you have this problem just started recently? If you find one any relationship with the site content type (for example, pages that use Flash or other media)?

  • How can I stop firefox from opening a tab in Tools/Options

    Firefox 38.0.1

Suddenly instead of an open box now I have an open tab when I go in Tools/Options - how can I recover the box and the aperture stop tab, I'd rather be able to see my tab running below the box in Tools/Options, and now I can't. This makes things very difficult.

Hi, FredMcD advice is what you need: you can return to the old window Options by: Type Subject: config in the address bar, press ENTER, accept the warning, scroll to browser.preferences.inContent and double-click on it to change the "value" from true to False, taking care to not to change what anyone else. You will then need to restart Firefox.

  • How can I force firefox to open an exact url

I live in England but regularly visit the United States. When I'm in the USA some URLS which I use regularly at home translates automatically to their international counterparts. For example, if I type www.bbc.co.uk at home, this site is loaded. If I'm in the USA, it is translated to www.bbc.com, which does not access the same information.

This is just one example - the same thing happens with other sites.

How to force Firefox to open specific URL I want to access?

Hello, these will be redirects server based on the site to guess your location based on your IP address. There is no way for the browser to work around this, other than using a proxy or VPN service from the United Kingdom...
